Will01 got a reaction from SamDozer in fake 144hz monitor? AOC G2460FQ
My friend has recently noticed that my 144hz monitor seems so much smoother than his, and turns out he is actually right. His monitor seems to be one of those scam 144hz monitors that are actually refreshing at 144hz, but skip out every other frame or whatever they do. So he paid for a monitor that is listed and certified by AOC as 144hz, but it isnt. He bought it used by the way. What can he do now? If its out of warranty is there no chance? Because i mean this is fraud. They are scamming customers. I have no idea about other countries laws, but here in the UK, this is not normal/okay? Where can he stand within his rights, without going too serious. Because i feel like a court case could easily be started here, not that we are looking to do that

But this is quite a serious problem, and surely AOC are going to want to sort him out, rather than causing something more serious?

yeah but in no way worth it. i saw one for like 150 or something hahaha. and they are apparently hella unreliable and cause loads of problems with sleep/wake etc.

Then get a Pro4 or Steel Legend

Get a second stick. It is not worth overspend for slightly faster ram in your case.

Get a good B450 like the Tomahawk. Update it's bios and get a second 8GB stick. 2400 isn't ideal but will work fine with minimal performance loss. Then OC your CPU while minding temps and get a 3600 or 3700X when you can.

hi again, first day of doing all the driver reinstalls was awesome! perfect fps, not a single problem at all. since then, ive literally not been able to play a single game, every time i load fortnite, it crashes. sometimes my monitors go black and then come back, and sometimes the game just crashes. nothing but chaos since i did the reinstall. but its so annoying as on the day i did it all my problems were fixed

What are you looking to monitor the hdd and ssd for? its not something most people really need to do. Every now and again whiles troubleshooting i just use crystaldiskinfo. usually the manufacturers software isnt great. or so it doesnt look great. Crystal disk info is a great utility. i suggest using that

I mean you can try to preorder because Amazon will take your money only in the moment the GPU will be ready to be delivered. So you'll have no costs until you will have it for sure and if it takes too long you can just cancel the order. Tried it by myself but it took too long so I bought a Zotac 1080 and yea...good luck with the card!

Ive had my rx 580 on gumtree which is like craigslist and also on ebay for a good few days now and ive had an offer on ebay of like £165 lol. So apparently nobody really wants these gpus right now in the uk anyways. There are a few on ebay selling on bidding but they are usually the 8gb cards. I dont even know if its worth selling it on ebay, ive got it listed right now for 350, i will have to pay £35 once i sell it in fees. If i list it much cheaper its going to get to the point where its more effort than its worth. If im only gonna make £50 i dont think id even do it. not with the risk of ebay returns and bs like that.

Will01 reacted to Spuriae in Budget mechanical keyboard
In keyboard enthusiast circles Corsair is considered average quality actually; Cooler Master and Ducky are the best of the conventional RGB gaming keyboards. Corsair only really makes sense if you plan to make extensive use of their awesome lighting software. I and some others have ordered from Gearbest before and been fine with it; they're one of a couple of companies that makes money by buying OEM parts in China and reselling them elsewhere with almost no markup.

If you've never used a mechanical keyboard before I highly suggest that you do before buying anything; as everything is about preference for different key feels, you may like certain switches more than others (in my case I even preferred membranes to black keyswitches). If you can't try anything out beforehand at a hardware store or meetup you may want to buy a switch tester to at least try things out. It would suck to buy an expensive keyboard and hate using it.

If you just want to jump right in, this might be your best option: basic RGB, very good build quality (I'd put it slightly above Corsair, at least in the three samples I got), Outemu Blues are nice switches (better feeling but louder than Cherry with similar QC), and the option to replace the switches without soldering so you can keep it as a modding platform should you not like blue switches or move on to more expensive keyboards (or want to use its chassis as a switch tester for future purchases).
