    SSD dead?

So i bought and installed Frostpunk on Steam. It was installed to 256 GB ssd (not os). Playing the game was however impossible because upon saving, it would freeze for about 1 minute and the save file itself would go missing. After googling i found a fix: So after moving the game to C everything seemed to be ok, until i tried to copy something to D (previous game location). The operation would freeze and nothing happened (i left it for like 1,5 hrs). My attempts to fix it were: chkdsk - according to the program everything is ok format - quick format succeeded, normal one gets stuck at 1% deleting and recreating partiton - no changes checked S.M.A.R.T in Samsung Magician - everything seems to be fine So is it dead? Did the game kill my ssd or is it just a big coincidence? Can anything be done to fix it?
  2. i like brushed aluminium, ips and the signatures on the back
  3. Cool. I will stick to that then. And about the mounting kit - i was thinking more in mechanical terms - screws and/or threads wearing out, loosing or something (it was never disassembled though after purchasing and sticking it onto my i5).
  4. Thanks! I have NH-U14S sitting on my current cpu. I planned on reusing it. Would it be sufficient, at least for a time? And another question regarding that topic: i don't need to buy a new mounting kit, right...?
  5. Hello. Having a very similar question i decided not to create a new thread. My current build is Core i5 2500k@4.5GHz, 8GB DDR3, GTX780, ga-z68x-ud3h-b3 mobo and it was intended for gaming. Some time ago i shifted to creative work (Maya, After Effects). So, is this a good upgrade? i7 4790k, 16GB DDR3, asus maximus vii / z97-pro. I understand that 6 or 8 core haswell-e would be better but i'd like to stick to +/- 900$. or maybe there's a better choice of components? Please help me choose.
