Humble Bee reacted to Semper in [STEAM] Shadow of Mordor Will NOT Launch
I take this as saying that verifying didn't work?
Well, on the one-off, are your GPU drivers up to date?

Humble Bee reacted to s4spencer in [STEAM] Shadow of Mordor Will NOT Launch
here's a nice little post I found
http://www.crashwiki.com/top-10-fixes-shadow-mordor-crashes-errors-wont-start-black-screen-config-nvidia-sli-dx11-support-hd-textures-slow-mouse/
if you tried booting it right from the steamapp>common>etc. folder, and verifying integrity didn't work, try updating drivers and following the #2 in the above link

It is quite easy.
Right click the game → Click ´Properties´ → Go to the tab ´Local files´ → Press the button ´Verify integrity of the game cache´

Right-click the game, select "properties"
locate the "local files" tab, locate the "verify integrity of game files" button
let steam process the game, it may take several minutes.
You may need to run steam in an elevated permissions mode (completely exit out of steam, right click your steam shortcut, and run as an administrator)

pass if Zotac's leak of gtx980 being $700+ is true.

Humble Bee got a reaction from Teletha in Note 4, why doesn't it have water & dust resistance?
I don't know why it doesn't tbh... I always think that I'm not likely to get my phone that wet. But on the other hand, when I'm spending £500+ on a phone I'd like it to be waterproof. Just so that if I accidentally dropped it in the water I wouldn't end up with a £500 paper-weight.

Humble Bee got a reaction from SkilledRebuilds in What would you think would be improved on laptops?
I think all Laptops should have a 64gb msata SSD for boot and a standard 2.5" HDD for storage. A 64GB SSD will probally add $20 to build cost. Its not going to be much.

Humble BeeActually, you don't need to care about idle temps. They mean nothing. If the load temps are the same as they used to be,everything is fine

Humble Bee got a reaction from Speedbird in What has been your favourite piece of tech?
I was just wondering what piece of Tech has amazed you the most, it need not be a new piece of tech, or even be in mass-production / or available to the general public yet.
For me I can't wait for project Ara, as I can't wait to have a custom built phone with the feature I want only.

Humble Bee got a reaction from Nuds in Graphics Card Dilemma GTX 780 or 880?
If I was in the market for a GPU, I think that the Evga GTX 780 6gb edition would be my choice. Plenty of VRAM and when overclocked the 780 can compete with a stock titan. So basically with an overclock you should have a stock titan without double precision floating point (double precision isn't for gaming anyway).

Humble Bee got a reaction from cluelessgenius in What product would you like to see us review that we haven't yet?
EVGA's GTX 780 6GB, I have yet to see any reviews and whether the 780 can utilise all that vram.

That having two cards in SLI or Crossfire will double the amount of effective vram you have.

get a backplate for the ram that should suffice cooling wise

Humble Bee got a reaction from hemmigumm in DIY case windows
For my window mod I used:
A Dremel (For the cutting)
Painters / Masking tape ( to cover up the exterior of the panel to protect from scratches and to mark out your design on)
Sharpie Pen (to draw the design)
Tri-Square (to make sure the straight lines are parallel with the edges of the panel)
Steel Rule (I used a 50cm one, so I could draw one continuous straight line across the entirety of the side panel)
A Drill (To drill the holes from the bolts to hold the acrylic window to the side panel)
U channel (to finish of the cut edges), I prefer it to trying to colour match paint.
Metal file (to clear up the cut edge, remove burrs)
Most importantly time, You don't want to rush.
Eye protection is a must. Also a breathing mask if you want to stop yourself from inhaling any metal shavings.
I wish I had pictures to share of the stages I took. but I don't, hopefully someone else who has done a window can chime in, my method is not perfect as it was he first window I had done, so wait for tips from someone more experienced. But I thought I'd share the relatively small experience.

Humble Bee got a reaction from airdeano in Akasa Apache Black 120mm Fan
Thank you for your input, Sorry for the late reply, I have just bought some as I found a good deal on them to replace my current Radiator fans which are just too loud for me to live with.
-
Humble Bee reacted to airdeano in Akasa Apache Black 120mm Fan
@Humble Bee
i have them in both the rosewill hyperborea and apache, they are quiet, high
static pressure, PWM and great for HSF, radiators.or obstructed case fans.
if you have a dusty environment and using them as intake, you'll deffo have
to hover the filters regularly.
the H100i SP120L fans at 12v cool as well as the apache at 12v with less noise.

What he said^
Rosewill hyperboreas are rebranded Apaches if that wasn't clear. Think of them are cheaper and slightly nerfed Noctuas.

Humble Bee got a reaction from helping in Gentle Typhoon Replacement?
Noctua wasn't going to be an option for me, I dislike the colour scheme, so I'd have to buy the industrial ones (Black with brown anti-vibration inserts) with a 5v/7v reduction cable, but that would cost me £25 a fan.
Cheers I'll look into the NoiseBlocker Eloops then. £15 a fan is much easier to swallow. Cheers everyone.
