  1. I think I actually found the best combination http://www.ok1.de/ThinkPads/ThinkPad-T460p-14/ThinkPad-T460p-20FXS05500::1108.html That's the thing, thus far I've had a laptop for a year because they break on me, I have to stop that because I wasted 800€ at this point, I think I NEED a thinkpad, because in every other case I will just ruin it again.
  2. This is my worst nightmare, but the thinkpad is so bulky, I would rather have something sleek.. I just wish I could have hands on with both devices to test them out, though there are way more people praising thinkpads and hating on dell.
  3. Is the i7 necessary though? I'm not a really heavy photoshopper, and my videos that I edit are mostly for a youtube channel I make 1-2$/mo for, not a really heavy user. The most work that I do is make essays for school (and shitpost on the internet) though I do enjoy editing video and photos but I'm not sure it would be worth a 500€ upgrade.
  4. So where does the playing frisbee come it? Anyway, Is this a decent setup? http://www.ok1.de/ThinkPads/Thinkpad-T460s-14/ThinkPad-T460s-20FAS05Q00::1083.html The one problem I have is the battery life, out the box the XPS comes with 12+hr battery life, depending on the config this one comes with 6hrs to 12 hrs,
  5. I believe in the ruggedness of the device, my problem with your comment is; Can you stop physically abusing your devices? I dropped my laptop once off my bed because I left my headphones in, I felt so bad I bought bluetooth headphones so that won't happen again. I meant is there a reason other than the hard shell, I heard of security features that I half skimmed over..
  6. The same i5 is in both the thinkpad and xps, the only difference between the two is.. well.. you tell me, because the internals are the same, I still think the thinkpads are better built, people keep telling me that, but nobody has yet told me how. And I found out it's a 1080p display, not a 4k (which I am glad about, I need that battery time yo')
  7. Severely, thank you, this might be the one I buy.
  8. Though.. holy shit, this is 250€ cheaper, comes with a 4k display, 8gb ram, dude.. http://www.csv-direct.de/artinfo.php?artnr=A3065133&KATEGORIE=3065&pva=idealo&data=i6SXBdxrKavvG2vv37IJueRHGVcXHbze3qhPPdevlBE0jDSGQLEGRUmavb09Z%2Bun8Reqv3dPXmTFELQU6NlW92ZWZ9reoQOcpwnuCnTSd8EV%2FsJILpGXQwUwghS0h%2FNdW6I1xj1fopiS3EHg6UqPr4gnfYQwqTB9ie1s3hpwVv4%3D
  9. The problem with buying from germany is warranty, what if something breaks, I don't speak fluent german
  10. that doesn't help my specific problem, it is a US specific site.
  11. Hello, So I have been buying cheap laptops for two years now.. which might not seem like much but I wasted 900€ on shit laptops thus far, my first being HP G2 250 (500€) that lasted me a year before lagging and dying on me, second being Asus T200, which was working great for 3 months, than the battery died, now I can't open more than 3 tabs before my laptop crashes. So I am done buying shit laptops, it's time to step into the mid tier. Now the problem with mid tier is that it is sevearely overpriced where I live, for example the T460 (THE because there is no configuration, you get a 3+3 cell, i5, 256gb SSD) is ~1400€, the XPS 13 (i5, 128gb ssd, 4gb of ram) is ~1450€. I am a desktop guy so this is so confusing to me, for example, why do cheap laptops (ideapads, ...) come with graphics cards, and the "premium" ones with integrated chips? So my question is, which laptop is the best for max 1400€ These are the two I've been looking at: http://www.mlacom.si/dell-notebook-xps-13-i5/4gb/128gb-ssd/intel-hd-520/fhd/win10 http://www.mlacom.si/thinkpad-t460-i5-6200u-8/256-fhd-w10p http://www.mlacom.si/thinkpad-t460s-i5-6200u-4/192-fhd-w10p I am intrigued by them all but they come with such weird configurations, why is the thinkpad 3+3 cell instead of 3+6 cell so I would have 12hrs+ of battery life, I would buy it without a second thought. I love the idea of owning a premium thinkpad, but I'm not sure if I need it, I will be using the laptop to; -use microsoft office -photoshop -edit videos -play stardew valley or minecraft or GTA San Andreas Multiplayer I think the XPS would be a better choice because it comes in a simple form factor I could use in my bed to watch twitch and play GTA SA, also it comes with a USB type C port which my next phone will surely have. But the Thinkpad series has usually great Linux support, which I also love fiddling with every now and than. What do you think? Which one is better?
  12. Okay so let me start this off with this: I'm a big fat phony. I don't actually want to game on the thing contrary to the forum name.. So hai, I was looking for a good tablet to buy for under 200€ and I am from a country that is in a serious economical crisis, so I don't have much choice tbh. I was looking for a tablet to consume media, I currently have a 1300€ PC, Galaxy S4 and a HP 250 G2 laptop, which is .. well.. meh. I want to buy the tablet because I can't comftorably use tha laptop on my bed without it overheating and making loud noises, and the phone screen is too small to do anything with it, oh and also my eyes are really screwed, since I can't see that well on a 5" screen, but still. I was thinking of getting a LG G pad 7.0 or a Samsung Tab 4 7.0, but than I learned that holy crap, Microsoft is selling Windows 8.1 x86 tablets, WOOT! I want that, inside my body, I love the metro UI, I have win 8.1 original on my laptop and PC, I have a xbox, dude, a x86 tablet! And sure enough I can get one fairly cheap ( https://www.pricaraj.si/lenovo-miix-3-z3735f-2gb-32-w8-1-8-xga-b-nbi1749) but here is where problems start (also Gtab 7 https://www.pricaraj.si/tablicni-racunalnik-lg-g-pad-7-0-8gb-crne-barve-lgv400-ahunbk ) (and galaxy 4 https://www.pricaraj.si/tablicni-racunalnik-samsung-galaxy-tab4-sm-t230-8-gb-v-beli-barvi-sm-t230nzwasio ) So the windows tablet is great and all but after the windows install you are left with around 8gb space to play around with, and currently on my PC I have 42gb of 111gb free on my SSD that I don't install anything on, so I'm screwed because of the size of the disk, everything on the thing is superb, just the display is a bit horrible, but the same thing goes with the LG tab and Galaxy tab, they are both 8gb, I can't do anything with 8gb, but I surely can do more than with 8gb on a Windows machine.. So I'm stuck here, should I buy a Android tablet with a full out amazing play store, and native support for google apps, which is what I use most, basically all I use plus Reddit, but is lacking space to install apps plus won't get new updates soon OR I buy a windows tablet that supports w8.1, on which I can install apps I use on a PC, has a bad display (not THAT bad surely..) and can actually play things, that will run slower because it's not based on a simple small OS like Android and that won't have native support for a lot of things, but DUDE, it's Windows 8.1 x86, what's not to love.. but I am really scared of the size. But like I said, everything here is expensive, I would be paying 161€ for Galaxy Tab 4 7" (8gb) 133€ for LG Gpad 7 (8gb) 162€ Lenovo Miix 3 If you understand anything in slovenian, here is what I'm dealing with https://www.pricaraj.si/racunalnistvo/tablicni-racunalniki/tablice https://www.mimovrste.com/tablice#!?menuItemId=15564802 http://www.bigbang.si/tablicni-racunalniki-in-dlancniki?specs=9 Buying from Amazon is impossible, I would have to pay 40-70€ shipping, buying from ebay is hard since I don't possess a credit card.
  13. I really want to one day buy a mechanical keyboard but the only time I tested one was the Logitech G710+ and it really didn't feel that different from a membrane, I guess it was the dampeners, really wish we had a tech shop around here, the only keyboard on display I could find was the g710+.. One day I will join the Mechanical Master Race.. also the linux replacement for windows key were incredible.
  14. https://mojang.com/2014/09/yes-were-being-bought-by-microsoft/ Yes, the deal is real. Mojang is being bought by Microsoft. It was reassuring to see how many of your opinions mirrored those of the Mojangstas when we heard the news. Change is scary, and this is a big change for all of us. It’s going to be good though. Everything is going to be OK. <3 Please remember that the future of Minecraft and you – the community – are extremely important to everyone involved. If you take one thing away from this post, let it be that. We can only share so much information right now, but we’ve decided that being as honest as possible is the best approach. We’re still working a lot of this stuff out. Mega-deals are serious business. Why did you sell Minecraft? Minecraft has grown from a simple game to a project of monumental significance. Though we’re massively proud of what Minecraft has become, it was never Notch’s intention for it to get this big. As you might already know, Notch is the creator of Minecraft and the majority shareholder at Mojang. He’s decided that he doesn’t want the responsibility of owning a company of such global significance. Over the past few years he’s made attempts to work on smaller projects, but the pressure of owning Minecraft became too much for him to handle. The only option was to sell Mojang. He’ll continue to do cool stuff though. Don’t worry about that. There are only a handful of potential buyers with the resources to grow Minecraft on a scale that it deserves. We’ve worked closely with Microsoft since 2012, and have been impressed by their continued dedication to our game and its development. We’re confident that Minecraft will continue to grow in an awesome way. Minecraft means many different things to millions of people across the world, and to each and every Mojangsta. We feel that this is the best way for everyone – you guys included – to benefit. What about the other editions of Minecraft? Will they stop being developed? There’s no reason for the development, sales, and support of the PC/Mac, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Vita, iOS, and Android versions of Minecraft to stop. Of course, Microsoft can’t make decisions for other companies or predict the choices that they might make in the future. We’re extremely proud of all editions and the awesome things you have achieved through playing together. Is the game going to change? Will we still be able to make videos, mods, awesome builds, and all the cool stuff we’ve created over the past few years? Minecraft will continue to evolve, just like it has since the start of development. We don’t know specific plans for Minecraft’s future yet, but we do know that everyone involved wants the community to grow and become even more amazing than it’s ever been. Stopping players making cool stuff is not in anyone’s interests. What about the Mojang staff? What’s happening to you guys? Though it’s too early to confirm which of us will continue working on Minecraft or other projects, we predict that the vast majority (if not all) Mojangstas will continue to work at Mojang for the time being. The founders: Notch, Carl, and Jakob are leaving. We don’t know what they’re planning. It won’t be Minecraft-related but it will probably be cool. What’s happening to the other Mojang projects, like Scrolls? We don’t know yet. We’ll share any news as soon as we do. Will you still be able to tweet about features and interact with the community on a personal level, just like you’ve done over the years? Yes! That’s not going to change. How much money was the company bought for? Microsoft acquired Mojang for a smooth 2.5 BILLION dollars. Thanks for reading everybody. Owen – @bopogamel, Lydia – @lydiawinters, and the Mojangstas From the Minecraft side of things.
