  1. Title is self explanatory, long story short I clicked on the wrong hard drive in disk management and need to restore a deleted partition. I have no idea what I am doing as data recovery is not my specialty and I would like to restore the partition and partition table rather than just recover files from it.
  2. Well there are certainly a lot of options for that, however if you want the SSD expect to spend at least $600, otherwise a standard 5400 RPM hard drive is what you're gonna get. I take that back, there aren't a lot of two in ones for less than $600 unless you want an 11" laptop with a Pentium and 4 GB of RAM. That Dell or Lenovo are gonna be some of the cheaper options you'll find for two in ones that are reliable.
  3. What are your size requirements, does it need to be a 2 in 1, is 749 your max price or base price, do you want something similar or more powerful, are you one of those people that has to see the item in person or would you be willing to order it? Here is a Lenovo Yoga 700 for less but it has half the storage. I would recommend this one. I work for Best Buy and can tell you that model Dell has an issue with the wifi card. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-yoga-700-14-2-in-1-14-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i5-8gb-memory-128gb-solid-state-drive-black/5225001.p?id=bb5225001&skuId=5225001
  4. ASUS has a map of where they are located and you basically have to UPS, FedEx, or USPS it to them.
  5. Good thing I work for Geek Squad, I can at least attempt to get our service center to give me an employee discount since I am not letting a non ASUS certified repair center touch a touch screen laptop display repair.
  6. Well the thing about replacing this laptop is that it was a $1000 USD laptop that I was using for school but now I use my desktop for that purpose. This laptop would not be easy to replace, that and I just put an SSD in it.
  7. So I have an odd issue that I thought would never happen. I have a 2(ish) year old ASUS Q550LF-BSI7T21 laptop that has non persistent image burn in. What I mean by non persistent is that I will get an image or part of an image burned into my display if it stays there long enough (example: Chrome/IE/Edge search bar) but it will fade away if I close the offending item. I have tried numerous LCD dead pixel/stuck pixel/image burn in repair videos on YouTube and none of them seem to be able to fix a thing. Is this something that I should be concerned with, is this even supposed to be able to happen to IPS panels, is this something I should get repaired even though it would cost a lot (~150-450 USD) to fix? I just don't know what to do in this situation, this laptop maybe gets used once a week after you average all the times that I have used it over the last two years of ownership. This is also a recent issue and I'm not sure if me leaving it sleep for 3 days and killing the battery by letting it sit there for two weeks is the cause or not either, could that be the cause? Screen brightness doesn't seem to affect it and if the display loses power from me shutting it off with an ASUS function key and turn it back on, it goes away immediately? Do you guys have any recommendations? I would get a picture of it but it is so hard to see on camera that you may not be able to see it.

  9. I highly doubt you are running into temp issues, AMD cards are notoriously bad overclocking cards and they can manage to withstand constant temps of 83 C and not throttle.
  10. Well I am going to put this under solved since I managed to fix it somehow. Not sure if it was uninstalling an update or turning off spybot antibeacon...either way the icon is gone and this issue has never happened before. Now onto a totally new problem that occurred, keyboard and mouse not loading drivers at logon.
  11. No, it's just my desktop acting up, it didn't start until I turned it on this afternoon when I got off work. Windows is up to date, I tried to go back to a previous build to see if that would help and it just gave me an error. The other two desktops, the phones, and the chromecasts are all working fine with no issue. All of my settings are at their default values and ipconfig yields the annoying media state disconnected. I have flushed my DNS, I've reset the Winsock, heck I even went into safe mode to remove the drivers and reinstall them manually. I'll try scanning with MBAM to see if that yields any issues. The funny thing is though is that this is a fairly modern mid to high end PC.
  12. As I have stated, I have done all of that already. Windows says everything is fine other than not being able to connect to "some" sites.
  13. So I have a bit of an interesting issue here, my computer for whatever reason says that it is not connected to the internet, however I can actively use the internet like I am doing right now. I can listen to my Pandora, hop on social media, check my emails, heck I even manged a game of Battlefield for a few hours. I have rebooted my rig, I have rebooted all of the networking gear, I updated my drivers but the icon won't go away and Windows still says that there is no active connection. Has anyone had any issues with this in the past? I have posted a screenshot to kind of give you an idea.
  14. Since this is an NVIDIA based thread I figured I should post my issues here as well. I have all of the normal NVIDIA apps and sub applets that come with the driver install but there is still something missing and that is CUDA, yes CUDA. For some odd reason it is disabled the RTM version of Windows 10 and none of the drivers from NVIDIA can re-enable it. For most people this is no issue but for me and the fact that I use CUDA to leverage Adobe Premiere, is a big issue. If anyone has a quick fix for this please let me know.
  15. I work for Best Buy and believe me when I say that this employee is screwed, the transit numbers are right on the boxes and it won't take long for corporate to crack down. I see that the Reddit profile was deleted but it won't take long before the employee is found out.
