  1. Ultrawide at 144Hz only happens at 1080p. The X34 has 1440p with 100Hz + Gsync but the cheaper option is the BenQ.
  2. I think the ASUS one is waiting for the new DP standard to try and get a higher refresh rate. I have no source for that, just simply my own speculation.
  3. I've always been a fan of the rotated look (silently trying to figure out something to get my own). If you were looking for opinions on whether you should or not this is my vote to top I/O. What Corsair case did you take from to get the tray/rear?
  4. Gsync off the max refresh rate is 75Hz but when Gsync is enabled it can keep its varied refresh rate between 23 and 100Hz. When Gsync is enabled the panel gets overclocked to a max refresh rate of 100Hz.
  5. Considering there would have been a top to it I think it would have looked better if the motherboard was rotated 90 but I think it looks pretty sweet.
  6. I'm really likely to get it. I won't preorder it but I'll likely have it before 2016.
  7. ... and if its gets a bad review it will be bad? What's your point?
  8. Why do people still hold onto hope for this? It's just sad coming back in here seeing people excited for a free item they will never see.
  9. Simply a location thing. However, if the garage sale just so happen to make use of the Classifieds section I'd more than likely partake. hint hint wink wink hint
  10. I'd get Acer, I prefer the stand. I have an Acer monitor now and now issues so why break off a good thing?
  11. Yep, I sure am. I just can't wait to give the superior tech my money for their superior abilities in getting extra refresh rates out of a panel the other technology couldn't do. I will tell you once again, I'm not buying the Freesync monitor because with my GPU i have absolutely no benefit from it, I may as well have bought a monitor without any sort of sync tech because I'm not getting any of it. Instead I'm buying a monitor with sync tech I can use, and bonus points its better than the other sync tech. End of story. BTW here is our misguided propaganda facts spread by the untrustworthy Acer. "Predator X34 built-in NVIDIA G-SYNC technology, with a 3440x1440 ultra-high resolution gaming grade 100Hz refresh rate, 21: 9 IPS wide viewing angle screen".
  12. Unpopular Opinion Alert I actually like the looks of the gray/black looks regardless of LED's. I've liked their motherboard but hated red/black so much more that I would never get one, with that color base I find them much more attractive. I did just buy into Haswell a year ago though so chances are I won't get this one but keep up the good work ASUS.
  13. Right? Why wait for an improvement in refresh rates? Why not save that money and instead buy into a monitor with features he can't use? ALL I SEE IS GREEN
  14. fanboy of gsync or not I'm not getting the freesync version because I already own a nVidia card and not upgrading again for awhile. Whether or not is better doesn't concern me because my eggs are already in the basket. I more so meant that his review of refresh rates being solid, backlight bleed being minimal, colors being really accurate gave me good feeling about the panel being used.
  15. After Linus did a review of the panel saying nothing but good things and the only thing that would be better was GSync I'm pretty sold on on this monitor now.
  16. They wouldn't discount it from the original price it launched at if it was selling decent. Its been out for like two weeks and already at its discount price and promo incentive. @
  17. Already on sale plus a gift card? Its already dropped in price by $300?
  18. Only person streaming that game now is the biggest bastard I know.
  19. It's been so long I honestly forgot I ordered one.
  20. You had solid points up until your BF rant. I will give you that BFBC2 was a good game but to say it was more core to the BF series is a blatant lie. It was made to be a fun, destructible game and branch off the seriousness that its had from BF 1942/2142/2. BF3 was back to the MilSim-ish approach while still not being ARMA level and personally I have enjoyed it way more than I have BF4. BF4 singleplayer tried to play into the COD role but online is still a far cry from being like it, BF3 had a much better singleplayer and overall I liked the maps/balancing in 3 better aswell.
  21. Who gets DDR4 but still has use for 3 PCI slots? That's the most backwards shit... The LED strip looks more like an advertisement that design. Hate all of this.
  22. Almost makes me want to get a AMD GPU just so i don't get all those silly red accents... almost.
  23. I'm currently in the same category of choice so I'm glad someone created this, thanks. I understand 16:9 and 4k and the more mainstream options but I prefer the look and feel of the 21:9 (I have dual 4:3 for work, same thing) and to have it with GSync seems like the bee's knee's. I'm also hoping that if enough people support 21:9 then it will become recognized as something to support and not just a niche crowd with known users who create patches. My vote now is X34 but I'm still on the fence.
