  1. Going from 1080p to 4k will stress your frames, might introduce tearing at that resolution.
  2. If you have the 980Ti then you want the CKA version which is now renamed X34. The other is the Freesync version of the monitor which benefits AMD.
  3. @Ryzone called it. I can read the smile on his face.
  4. No, no. I'm talking about a DP cable and the bandwidth it has for a 1440p 144Hz signal + a full VGA signal and I agree there should be enough room for both to work on the cable without bottlenecking or limiting the other signal. The email you had with them confirmed what I thought, now it's just a matter of getting the correct converter/splitter cables that will continue to support it.
  5. @Pandacake Running a splitter to converter sounds like alot could go wrong with the conversions so make sure you get the correct ones. In theory though a 144Hz signal has enough room to allow a VGA signal to coexist from the same cable. Good luck with it.
  6. Is there also a plan in place about becoming a reseller of other products to completely fill the gap of Frozen?
  7. What about setting a resolution forced by GPU? I believe, from Steam, there are also options from command lines to force launch a game in a resolution as well?
  8. Isn't Ambivision VGA support only? That shouldn't cut into the wire bandwidth so, if you can find the correct wire that supports it I don't why it would interfere. If you ever do a review on that, @ me. Always been interested in those light kits for an addition to the HTPC uses.
  9. Have you checked to see if there is a fix for the game? http://www.wsgf.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=95 http://www.flawlesswidescreen.org/ If not, maybe something in CCC (what it was called last time I had an AMD card, may be different now) that can manually control a resolution? I know there is support for it with nVidia so there has to be an equivalent for AMD.
  10. The two monitors offer very different experiences. What is it you normally do on the PC? Obligatory, don't buy the X34, ACER has bad QC.
  11. @Enderman I agree, you are right. In this case he does have a negative pressure because the 3 exhaust fans CFM is greater than his intake CFM, even 200mm at max and the others at low as possible. I was just making sure he understood the difference that CFM changes the reasoning behind the pressure change not the amount of fans. I said you are overthinking it because the amount of air he is pushing won't make anything overheat, which is what he is asking.
  12. Stig beat me to it, TDP is how effective it is at removing "Thermal Design Power" aka the heat put off by energy transfers. The higher TDP tolerance the better it is at cooling.
  13. Positive and negative pressure is based on CFM not amount. Granted in this case, it doesn't change the results he has negative pressure but you are overthinking it. 1 200mm is fine for intake, as LoGiCalDrm said, change the rear to intake if you find its not in a good range but really shouldn't be anything to worry about.
  14. I can't find any sellers of the Evlolv ATX here in America. Friend really wants a "Mac like" PC built in one.
  15. What?! I didn't know Dealzon had a website. Thanks for that link.
  16. You are missing the point of a 21:9 monitor now. No one will argue your point. If a 16:9 and 21:9 monitor are the same width it will obviously be taller, that is part of the math behind the aspect ratio. The point of 21:9 is to be a wider version of a monitor, hence the name "ULTRAWIDE".
  17. You were one of the few excited about this monitor then out of no where you decided you hate ACER and this monitor. What happened? It seems like the last 8-12 post I've seen from you have all been negative about this monitor and suggesting another that we know even less about. Why? I have a ACER monitor currently, no problems over the last 5 years I've had it. I also own a laptop, which did need RMA because of ONE, dead pixel after 3 months of owning it and they didn't hassle me for anything, replaced it and the new one works fine. The whole QC and customer service problems you harp them for have been non existent to me. The "problems" you are "aware" of with the monitor are things that could happen to any tech product. Coil hine happens, not something you want but it can to anything. Not reaching 100hz can also happen, thats not a really issue. The monitor does what it says it can, I don't RMA my GPU when it can't hit 1500mhz. I didn't get a good OC, I move on. Settings being reset sounds like a driver issue, not a monitor issue and this can be easily fixed. If you constantly live in fear of the "my product won't be perfect" what if's then you will never own anything.
  18. @Enderman None of that made sense. How does a wider monitor have less usable space? How is it possible for a 21:9 image to fit in 16:9 and look the same?
  19. I used PT for its interface and easy for people not tech savvy to use in my house. Before it was, I'll show you how to torrent which quickly turned to let me know what you want torrented and I'll put it on the HTPC for you, but once i found out about PT with TV and Movies its taken alot from me with no longer being the source and it being easy to use has been nice. Back to the ol' grind I guess.
  20. Did they change the naming scheme or is this a different series? I have the m8, m9 is the same phone, is/will there be an m10?
  21. The sale on those ES80's is incredible. Super tempting.
  22. I'd say try it. If you find your setup can consistently push the 60Hz and you find little drop in frames/tearing then keep it. If you decide you like the panel but think there could be a benefit from the sync tech then give it back and get the Acer. The Dell is no slouch of a screen and one of the best stands for a monitor but, less "gamer" bells and whistles that the Acer has.
  23. Recently, it just seems like you want the monitor to fail. What happened?
  24. Son of a bitch! I was so close and almost relevant!
