Farncir got a reaction from TurtleZero in Explain Your Username
All started when i signed up to xbox live, me being excited and all Rushed in typed my name being Francis, obviously it was taken (duhh), so i went and retried typing in Farncis, spelt differently but sounds sorta the same, still taken, i decided to type Farncir, dunno why i did it, i think i recall it being just for fun. It WENT THROUGH!
yayy! i though i can play xbox now, adding my friends they asked what was wrong with my gamertag, i told them it was temporary and will change when i can think of one later.
then they broke the news to me............
you have to PAY to change your gamertag! =O
i was utterly shattered, but xbox distracted me short after..
    andd
long story short it grew on me and is now a frequently used username :)

    The end

    GIVEAWAY ANNOUNCEMENT VIDEO

MESSAGE FROM OUR SPONSOR (please read)

Stinky has created the Stinky Footboard to address a lack of solid gaming peripherals that look beyond adding more buttons to adding more simultaneous inputs. Having the ability to reload or crouch (assumes crouch bound to C) while strafing right is just one of the many things that the Footboard can do. It's also a great accessibility tool for computer users who might find alternate input methods helpful such as amputees. Check out their holiday special page where you can get the Stinky Footboard for $99.99. It's a great gift idea:

The surface is bare metal, so priming would be necessary.
Would top coat be necessary? I'm from Australia so I would have no idea where to buy the top coat =\
I also want the surface to have a matte finish

Farncir got a reaction from Darell3 in Scratch Build, Project Cardboard
I needed a compact Matx case which could house all of my components in the minimal amount of space
So i went and designed my own! :)

    System Components:
    - 3770K intel i7 processor
    - Noctua Nh-D14 cooler
    - asus P8Z77 M-Pro Motherboard
    - FSP aurum 750w gold power supply
    - asus gtx 580 graphics card
    - intel 330 SSD storage
    - 8gb Corsair Vengeance LP memory
    - Scratch Built case!

Now you've seen the components, I may explain the name...
It is called project cardboard because...(drumroll).... ITS MADE OF CARDBOARD
The reason behind this is because the case will be a temporary housing while i mod my case in prep for water cooling
If anyones interested here what i'm planning on doing, i will post a build log sometime soon http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/11976-water-cooled-arc-mini-design-and-thoughts-upgrading/

I'm only posting this because, well i but some thought and planning into it, might as well show you guys, just for a laugh if anything, so here are my designs, google sketchuped it, because thats what i do :)

It all looked good to me so i went ahead and built it!
    little things i did, included..
    - lining the bottom of the cardboard box with an anti-static bag to protect the motherboard
    - custom paper mod the create an even more papery effect
    - use cable ties to tie down the Nh-d14's fans down
    - Fractal designs Arc mini front panel headers
    - Bitfenix Alchemy LED strips to light it up!

My only complain to my design was, i Completely underestimated the amount of cables and the amount of space required for the cables expecially the 24pin, MAN that took lots of space.

I had  fun time building it and i even amazed myself by how awesome i think it looks, so here it is!
(I forgot to take progress pictures because i was having so much fun)

In this pic, the exhaust of the graphics card conveniently

Turned off the LED's to show you the difficult cable management, and if you can find it my sneaky SSD ;)

    Fancy pants LED's!

And that's it! Excuse an messy surroundings, trust me its an organised mess
Hope you enjoyed my little mock up of a Scratch Build, i shall have my proper build, built.. in time ;)
