  1. I am not sure if it is a cloud service I am looking for if there is a program that I can use to sync data between my tower and laptop before I leave that would be fine as well as I am currently using the full capacity of my google cloud. Dropbox doesn't have the capacity I need for free at least sadly. I haven't used mega.nz but will look into it. I appreciate if there were more suggestions.
  2. Hey guys, I just got a new Laptop for Uni and want to have my files for Uni shared on my tower at home and also on the laptop. I like to do work on the go and am looking for a way that let's me have the same data on both devices. Are there cloud services/software solutions that allow me to automatically download changed items to both once they connect to the internet so I can use them once I go somewhere without WiFi. I am a pretty broke student so it would be ideal if I could find a free solution. I need space for about 10gb of data. I hope this is the right place to post, I couldn't find anything in "Storage" or "Software" with the search function. I am also not certain what to look for, is there easy to use software, should I utilise a cloud service or both combined?
  3. Thanks for the quick reply! Should I get every driver for my laptop or do I need to focus on certain ones? Also am quite a bit intimidated by the guide but will try my best to get through it.
  4. Cheers guys, I just got a new Laptop [Lenovo Thinkpad E460] and want to install Windows on it (bought without OS) I don't have a CD-Drive so I created a bootable USB stick (took an image from a Win7 professional CD with ImgBrn, I had for my PC and also have Win7 professional license for the laptop installation) I used the "Windows 7 USB download tool" to create a bootable USB stick. It did tell me that it was not bootable but out of frustration I tried it anyways and the Windows7 installation started. I did run into problems however down the line when no device drivers were found. So I did some googling and found a Tom's hardware solution which said to add USB3.0 drivers to the image but the patching with the Image creator always fails. Failure reason is Packaged drivers could not be located. I don't know how to continue from now. I don't think I have any non USB3 ports on my laptop, neither do I have a different USB stick or an external CD-Drive.
  5. Buy 100% Orange Juice, it's the best, trust me!
  6. Thank you for the reply, as I bought it all in one I have only the box the computer came in, I am also not in a rush to sell things as I will be leaving in some months, so there is still time. I used to be an avid reddit user but quit it to have more time for University, will defenitly check out the hardwareswab sub. Thank you, also do you happen to know how much ebay charges? Thank you for the kind words, I think I mostly paid too much for what I was using it for, as I at the time mostly played mobas and dreamt of becoming a streamer but I have grown out of that... It seem slike the title was changed, I think I have an 'ok' idea of what to expect in price (~1000€) but I am still on the lookout for sides where I could potentially sell it, although I will defenitly take a look at reddit.com/r/hardwareswapEU.
  7. Other problem is I really don't know where the best place to sell it is. 1. Computer Part list and General Info I bought it as a All-in-one Computer, now before you kill me, please allow me to say it was pretty dumb, I spent way to much on it and bought way over what I needed at that time. If I could go back I would build a Computer for less and taylored to my needs. But now I can only learn from my mistakes. Next time I am defenitly going to build my own PC. I have been watching LTT for about a year now and can safely say that I would not make the mistake again but at that time I just wanted to have a new Computer and had no idea where to start looking for parts and the variety of them were so overwhelming that it seemed like the best idea to buy it like this. It was regularly cleaned (about every month) and I never had any problems with it. 1.1 Part list [Please don't flame me for the parts I don't know what the 1000W PSU is doing there either] Case: CoolerMaster Storm Scout 2 [includes a 120mm fan] Motherboard: Gigabyte Ga-Z77x-DH3 (Z77/ATX) CPU: i7 3770k CPU Cooling: Asetek closed loop water cooler (120mm rad+fan) Ram: 16Gb total, 2x 8Gb dims DDR3-1600 Corsair XMS3 GPU: Sparkle GTX 680 Inferno (2048Mb) [blower style cooler that performs like reference but has an ugly-ass dragon sticker on it] Drives: 128Gb Boot SSD Samsung 840 Evo / 2Tb HDD / 256Gb WD Green (this one was taken from an old PC) PSU: 1000W Silverstone Strider SST-S, 80 PLUS Bronze, Modular PSU Soundcard: Creative SB Audigy SE Operating System: Win7 Professional [bought Seperately] DVD Drive DVD/RW 2x Noctua NF-S12A 120mm fan [might be Linus influenced... I put these in the front for more airflow] Now I paid 1.600€ for this puppy in early 2013 and was wondering what I can expect/hope for to still get for it. I bought it on www.one.de and it was advertised as the Ultimate Gamestar PC ... yadda yadda Notable might be that I still have the original packaging, reciptes, and a bag with extra HDD mounts, SLI-Bridge, manuals for all parts, CD for Windows, and packaging for the 2 Noctua fans. 1. 2 Peripherals Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 2494, 23.6inch, 1920x1080 [Output VGA/DVI only!] / this thing is pretty old and I don't have a box for it Keyboard: Cooler Master Trigger Storm Mechanical Keyboard Cherry MX Black Switches [Full Keyboard, red backlight, 5 programmable keys] /still have the original packaging Headset: Platronics Gamecom 780 [uSB Headset] /still have the original packaging Mouse: Some old Dell mouse Should I sell it all together (peripherals+computer) or would it be better so sell seperately? 2. Where should I sell it in the first place. My first thought was ebay, there is also something like craigslist here (ebay Kleinanzeigen) that might be worth checking out, but I currently llive in a small town... not sure if this would work. Well, if you made it up to this point here, thank you. I am very glad for every suggestion and opinion. If any questions arise I will be checking this post regularly. Cheers, Tastatuty
  8. Thank you, what is the best setting for this monitor then and how do I disable the auto brightness adjusting settings? I just realized that it is gone with the standard mode, disregard this question, thank you very much. I use this: Standard Brightness 100 Contrast 55 Sharpness 7 Gamma 5 Red 98 Yellow 93 Blue 95 Ama High Instant mode on
  9. Thank you for the fast answere! I can't change gamma, hue, saturation and none of the display options or scaling and colour adjustment aren't these some of the basic settings? I can change brightness or colours (RGB). Btw. do you know how to change the auto brightness adjusting settings I can't seem to find them. What happens: I open a window ontop of a dark part of my background and the visible part of my desktop gets darker.
  10. Hi guys, I bought a new Monitor yesterday (BenQ RL2455HM) and wanted to set it up now but ran into some trouble. A lot of settings are grayed out and I am not able to select them. I also found another post on the forum about it but nobody commented. Previous forum post with no answeres (except mine) http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/204351-benq-rl2455hm-unable-to-access-certain-settings/ Pictures by user Swiftkor from his post http://imgur.com/a/VOFUU I consulted the manuel but to no avail, tried using different cables (DVI and HDMI) because I read somwhere that it was reccommended by other users, didn't work. I also tried accessing the settings from every available preset mode, updated my BIOS and tried everything again, didn't work either. Also if anybody happens to know wich settings disables the auto brightness adjusting, I could not find it in the manual. Specs: i7-3770k Gigabyte-Z77X-D3H latest Bios (F18i) also tried it with the F16 (last non Beta BIOS) Sparkle GTX 680 Inferno
  11. Hey man, I just found your post and I have the exact same problem. I can't acces a lot of the settings either. Did you find out how it works? I used DVI and HDMI cables and that does not seem to change anything, I tried all different modes and still can't acces them. Also wich settings disables the auto brightness adjusting, I could not find it in the manual. I use a i7 3770k and a GTX 680.
  12. Thanks for the giveaway! To everyone circlejerking about being an active forum member and one post people having a chance to win too. A part of the Linus Tech Tips fan community is on youtube. Like me, I don't like forums and I don't really care to join and add my two cents to discussions, but I still really enjoy the videos and would like to win the card. And there is nothing wrong with that.
  13. As title says, Nvidia new GT 720 entry level GPU! Based on the GK208 GPU Kepler-based card built on the 28 nm fabrication process runs at a frequency of 797 MHz Two memory configurations: 1 GB DDR3 at 1.8 GHz | 2 GB GDDR5 at 5.0 GHz. Source: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvidia-gt-720,27424.html Nvidia claims: "2x faster web browsing, 5x faster video editing, and 8x faster photo editing also 70% faster gaming performance than integrated graphics while delivering rock-solid reliability and stability[...]" http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt-720 Anybody else supremely exited about this? Would love to see a review! Edit: Yeah me neither ... This has been posted already 4 days ago here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/140199-prepare-yourselves-the-three-new-behemoths-of-nvidia-are-here/?hl=behemoth Sorry, I couldn't find it with the search option!
  14. Sweeeeeet looking phone, love the skin. The orange is defenitly an eye catcher. I also really like the movment to produce water and dust proof phones in a normal looking phone, instead of these super bulky things from several years ago. Thanks for the giveaway, I wish everyone good luck.
  15. I was not aware of the seemingly marginal price difference between IPS and TN panels I am now considering buying one, but for the sake of the looks of the whole setup I think a TN panel might still be more suitable. The Budget is a problem though, but I can just wait another month and then I wil have enough money. NINJA EDIT: Thanks for the suggestion btw. the Dell does look marvelous, but a 8 ms RT is quiet high and does not seem to be that good for gaming, assuming they measured it gtg, it might be even higher in normal use.
