Kingofpants got a reaction from dalekphalm in HTC stock value below its cash holdings rendering them "worthless"
AMD has a much greater chance to survive, they aren't facing market saturation. Infact they are in duopolys in GPUs and CPUs.

Kingofpants got a reaction from EChondo in How do I make money off Minecraft?
$0, mabye $.10 if your lucky.
Anyway you won't make money off Minecraft. You CAN make money off coding though. Just learn to code in Java, very well. Then create a mod for minecraft. This requires not only guides but experience. Then host it on mediafire behind an ad.fly link and post it to the minecraft forums, if 5000 unique visitors visit it you get like a dollar. Yours never gonna make $3k a month but if get enough poulatity to get to three standard deviations above mean (0.3%) and you update the pack monthly you might get upto $50 a month.

Kingofpants got a reaction from Admiral Naismith in CHIP - the world's first $9 computer
90% sure it wont have HDMI 2.0 , So a montior like that is out of the question.
It also only has a Mali 400 GPU which means it can only go up to 1080p
If you want downsampled 4k 60 fps, Cpu based decoding is very taxing on desktop CPUs at that resolution and framerate , Whats essentially a weak smartphone chip has zero chance. If it has an onboard h.265 decoder then it could handle it but that seems unlikely at $9

You can replace icon.ico to change the tray icon;
Probably doesn't work exactly like you want but I've exceeded my 15 minute time limit;
To run at startup you can put a shortcut in the startup folder;

Kingofpants got a reaction from Ex14 in [Updated] Verizon Scolds FiOS User for Consuming 7 TB Every Month
Exactly, 7 TB is an absolutley stupid amount of data to go through an internet service.
What kind of unoptimized application needs 21 megabits a second for a whole month?
-
Kingofpants reacted to Takata in [Updated] Verizon Scolds FiOS User for Consuming 7 TB Every Month
Hm? Data caps are a valid way of charging customers based on how much they use. The user using 1TB is costing the ISP more than the user using 100GB, so the 1TB user should pay more. Not 10x more due to economies of scale, but noticeably more.
The "7TB is insane" argument assumes that someone buys a 500Mb/s connection to transfer a bit more data in a much shorter amount of time, as opposed to transferring a lot more data in a slightly shorter amount of time. This assumption feels a little unreasonable.
The "business" internet plan probably costs more, while not offering anything over the "consumer" plan that this user actually wants. (Well... at least in theory. In reality, the business plan would probably come without excessive usage notices.)

Kingofpants got a reaction from JAKEBAB in How much money am I saving recharging AA and AAA at work instead of at home?
For all intents and purposes , nothing.
Output of some random Battery charger I found on Amazon is 200 mA per AA and 100 mA per AAA battery.
Even if you charge 4 AA every day for 12 hours each for a full month that comes out to
0.2A*2.4V*12hr*4bat*30day=
691.2 Watt hours.
at 13 cents a KW in Canda you spent 9 Cents.
That's the price for 120 batteries a month and using a charger that overcharges them.
In 92 years you will successfully have saved $10!
(and charged over 100,000 batteries!)

Kingofpants got a reaction from Lexias in 12-Year-Old Learns to Program Nvidia Graphics Chips, Aims to Build Ultimate Minecraft Server
Its not gonna happen, I garentee it.
You would need to learn Java (Obfuscated since the source code is private) and Cuda (or whatever runs on Teslas) and Networking at low levels with huge amounts of practice to do this.
Its Incredibly difficult task to Paralellize minecraft let alone translate that to GPU instructions which wont end up bogging down the CPU into sending shitloads of commands to the gpu because hes not using HSA based computing.
Edit:
She only programmed for one hour, This is basically clickbait since when people say "Aims" they usually mean will eventually try to do. But she Probably can't even program pong.
