  1. My home security and monitoring runs through the DMP. I don't do any virtualization or video transcoding. Not saying I never will mess around with it, but it would be some side project for fun, not something I would need for my work. Currently the NAS is just for storing large amounts Data. A couple devices in my house have 2.5 or 10gb nics but for the transfers I do 1gb is fine. As you can see, my needs aren't crazy. I am mostly worried about reliability and security.
  2. Currently I am running an older QNAP TS-451+ with 4 x 12TB drives in RAID5. It has served well enough over the years, however I am trying to streamline my home network so I would like to switch to a rack mounted NAS. Not to mention I like that most of the newer ones are easily expandable. Currently I am looking at the following. Synology RS819 QNAP TS-431XeU QNAP TS-432PXU The nice thing about the QNAP is that I can import my existing array over however they have had a number of security issues lately so I am considering switching over to Synology. Does anyone have experience with any or all of these units or similar ones? Overall network is a basic Ubiquiti setup with a Dream Machine Pro, a POE 24 Port switch and a couple access points. I also considered picking up a refurbished HP ProLiant or Dell PowerEdge 1U server and running the NAS on that. However I like the simplicity of a dedicated NAS for backing up and storing my files. No to mention I have a small hot rack and a full server would require some creative mounting options. My current rack is already bigger than I would like. Thanks in advance for any advice you all can give me.
  3. Important System stats. Ryzen 5900x Crosshair VIII Dark Hero ROG 3090 Strix 2x Samsung 980 Pro drives in NVME RAID While prepping to switch over to Water cooling I noticed that my GPU is only running at 8X. I thought it may be the riser cable so I removed the vertical mount and tried it directly to the board. Still no joy. I have also updated the bios and even tried the card in the second slot. Does anyone have any idea on what could be causing this. Both the slot and the card connector are clean and free of any debris so I don't think it could be something blocking a pin. Board issues? CPU going bad? Something intentional in the design that I am missing?
  4. Have you checked the settings in the bios? Perhaps reset CMOS?
  5. Pop the card out and reseat it. I had a similar issue happen and this solved the issue. my assumption is that some of the pins were not making good contct.
  6. 8700K would be my vote. Good price, great performance. Easily overclocked to 5Ghz.
  7. Picked up the Scarlett today. It fixed the issue! Thanks guys!
  8. Sadly no Joy on this. I actually already tried this. Plugged the computer, Sub, and speakers directly into the wall in the same outlet. Even removed everything else from that particular run. So the only thing connected to that breaker were these devices. Correct it is plugged into the standard audio out. Yep. I tried both unbalanced options and even the TRS balanced input. I think I am going to pick up the Scarlett Solo and try it out. It is as cheap as much of the "gamer" DACs and sound cards out there and honestly I hate gamer marketing for those kinds of things. Only other one I may get is a Sound Blaster X3. Going to run out to Microcenter tomorrow and see my options. I am kind of at a loss to see what else to try. I may grab a long power strip and try a completely different electrical run. But I don't know if that will make any difference.
  9. I checked everything for ground and it seems fine. Everything is plugged into the same UPC, I even tried going directly to the wall with just the PC and the sound equipment. Still no joy. The noise actually changes if I move the mouse, etc. This is what it sounds like.
  10. I didn’t think about the grounding. the PC, Monitors, and Sub are all plugged into an APC that is connected to a properly grounded outlet. I know it is properly grounded because I ran the lines myself about a year ago. The Amp uses a standard NEMA C13 to 15P 3 pole (grounded) cable just like a PC. However the monitors have a built in 2 pole. I will try a few things when I get back home.
  11. I recently decided to upgrade my audio on my PC. I only do gaming and basic content consumption on the system so I didn't see a reason to go all out. I picked up a set of Mackie CRX3s and one of their 8 inch Subs https://mackie.com/products/cr-x-creative-reference-multimedia-monitors The problem is that when I have everything hooked up I get a buzzing noise from the monitors. I am using the built in output on my Crosshair Dark Hero board. I am using the provided 3.5 to RCA plug to go to the Sub and then the provided RCAs to the monitors. Things I have tried: Bypassing the Subwoofer and going directly from the board to the Monitors = no buzzing Connecting via Bluetooth = no buzzing Connecting to my iPhone via both Bluetooth and the 3.5 to RCA connector = no buzzing. 2 sets of 2.5 speakers connected directly to the board = no buzzing. So with all these tests I am assuming that either A: I am screwing something up. This is the most likely. Or B The onboard audio doesn't support this setup. Which I find strange since this isn't really a taxing setup. However I don't know much about audio at all so I am begging you all for help. If I need to pick up a DAC I don't mind, but would like to keep it fairly inexpensive since I am not doing content creation or anything here.
  12. I have wanted to play but I am too afraid to fry my 3090 Strix.
  13. Ok. I am gonna ask the obvious question. What the heck would you clean your CPU socket!
  14. Any good tower cooler or 240mm AIO will be fine for a 5900x. Your problem with that case is going to be airflow. Like most TT stuff it is half A$$ed.
  15. According to the label it is a RX560 Aero ITX 2Gig card.

  17. Your best performance is going to be from tweaking PBO and setting an undervolt.
  18. Even with a -.075v offset I get similar results with a Kraken Z63 cooler. the 5900x just runs hot at idle.

    aaand locked.

Yeah I didn't figure that would last long. Mods are nicer than I would have been about it all.
  20. You are digging your hole deeper and deeper. It is kind of amusing. Every post makes it sound more and more like you actually work for them. "Expose the fraud"? That is some great spin. And of course now you are accusing any source that doesn't agree with you of getting paid for their opinions. So you have shifted from a supposedly innocuous benchmarking competition to defending UB and trying to slander anyone who has pointed out their problems. It makes your motivations all the more suspect. So yes. At this point you are just Trolling. Perhaps as a paid shill. Perhaps as just another 12 year old who thinks they know a lot when in reality they don't. It doesn't really matter either way to me. Userbenchmark has been exposed time and again for their intentional manipulation of data to push their own agenda. It is why both the r/intel and r/AMD banned them from posting. It is why almost every major tech youtuber has called them out. Not to mention most major Tech publications.
  21. I somehow missed this post. I am not pretty much 100% sure this guy either works for Userbenchmark or has been paid by them to do this. I doubt the mods are going to help you out here buddy. they aren't here to protect you when you get called out for something you are this wrong about.
  22. You are 100% wrong. Almost every major tech publication and channel has shown that Userbenchmark uses a flawed system intentionally created to make Intel chips look far better than they are when compared with equivalent AMD chips. Some of the more egregious examples actually put i3 processors as superior to high end Ryzen chips. They are Intel shills. Plain and simple. And more people using their benchmark just helps promote them, which is the opposite of what we should be doing. The only thing they manipulate more than their results is their SEO, which is why they are always top searches.
