  1. I'm in the market for purchasing a new monitor to replace my current monitor, a Dell S2417DG. The reason being that the color banding of my monitor is becoming too much, especially when correcting for it's horrible gamma out of the box: I'm looking for a monitor that is 1440p. My GTX 1080 probably wouldn't be able to handle 4k well and is overkill for 1080p. At least G-Sync compatible as my current monitor has spoiled me on that front. I know most 1440p monitors don't support HDR but if there was one, that would be great. And color accurate out of the box, or at least easily calibrated to be accurate, since that's the main reason for replacing my current monitor. My budget is $700 USD I'm not sure if this will help but I play a wide range of games ranging from FPS (i.e. Destiny 2, Halo: Master Chief Collection, etc.) to Platform/Puzzle games (i.e. Ori and the Blind Forest, The Witness, etc.)
  2. Mining bitcoin with that setup would actually cost you to mine if your electricity wasn't "free". That being said, you could mine altcoins (Vertcoin, Zcash, Etherium, LBRY) and make around $3-$5 a day. However, I wouldn't recommend mining with CPU as the hash rate will be too small at a high power usage so stick to GPU mining.
  3. As the title says, I am wondering what is the most profitable cryptocurrency to mine. I have a EVGA GTX 1080 FTW and an Intel Core i7-6700k, both are modestly overclocked.
  4. I'm now deciding on if I should wait until Black Friday/Cyber Monday to buy the parts. Right now I can get them for ~$1671.98 through MicroCenter deals and Amazon. Should I wait or go ahead and get them?
  5. This is a part list from what I've gathered from your suggestions: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($328.89 @ OutletPC) CPU Cooler: CRYORIG A80 128.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($105.00 @ Newegg) Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($137.98 @ Newegg) Memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($119.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Samsung 850 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($119.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($69.00 @ B&H) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB FTW Gaming ACX 3.0 Video Card ($669.99 @ B&H) Case: Corsair Carbide 400C ATX Mid Tower Case ($97.49 @ Newegg) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($79.99 @ SuperBiiz) Total: $1728.32 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available I might buy the Dell S2417DG which is a 1440p G-Sync monitor if I save up some more. I feel like this is the build but I'm still up to suggestions.
  6. Do you have any suggestions for a 1440p monitor? (My desk space is small but it won't affect the size I can have much)
  7. I'm currently in planning stage of building a new PC, a definite upgrade from the 6-year-old brick of a laptop I currently own. My budget is $2000 USD and the PC will be used mainly as a gaming rig with minor workstation use. I can go over my budget but I would prefer not to. Below is my current part list: PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/vZ8Xnn Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/vZ8Xnn/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($328.99 @ SuperBiiz) CPU Cooler: be quiet! Also, the computer will be run on a 1080p monitor and no extra peripherals will be bought with this. I would like feedback on this list: any complications it may have, better/cheaper parts, etc.

  9. Actually, Comcast has data caps in certain cities as a "test". It's a bunch of bullcrap.
  10. I found about LinusTechTips after getting into building a pc. I noticed the quality of the videos were much better than others. I decided to subscribe and drool over more pc hardware I can't afford.
  11. After almost a month the only change is that the two servers it connects to are both empty servers. The servers haven't changed but the error has changed.
  12. My favorite part of the phone is the waterproofness because I'm clumsy and the dbrand skin just looks amazing.
