  1. So as some of you may or may not know, there is quite an extensive Wiki that has been set up for Star Citizen. It has everything from an archive of all the production schedule reports to information on the infamous lunch button, and everything in between. Like any other Wiki we are always looking for people to help make it bigger and better. Since the project is still in its infancy, editing can currently only be done by approved users. If you'd like to help out, just create an account on the Wiki and join us on Discord to get an admin to approve your account. If you want to know more, check out the latest progress update posted on r/starcitizen. See you all in the 'verse!
  2. Didn't know that thread was still alive. Thanks for the link.
  3. Soon is very ambiguous term. I would say hold out until the big three announce their new phones, then go from there.
  4. Now seems like a fairly inappropriate time to be making a list like this. Microsoft, Apple, and Google are all about to announce their latest and greatest smartphones in the coming months.
  5. You could always buy an international unlocked device off of somewhere like Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Nokia-Lumia-930-International-Unlocked/dp/B00LNCVNEQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1434215525&sr=1-1&keywords=lumia+930
  6. Lumia 920 Surface Pro 3 (i5/128 GB) iPod Touch 4th Generation I really want to upgrade my phone, but I am holding out in the hopes that Windows 10 Mobile will actually be half decent.
  7. The Surface 3 just came out, and is an identical form factor to the SP3. The Surface 3 can also run x86 desktop applications.

I know you are obliged to keep the dbrand skins on in order to get the review units, but I feel like it is an awful partnership. Do I enjoy the videos that come from it? Yes. Do I think that having dbrand skins on these devices is a gross misrepresentation of the product? Yes. I would much rather not have these videos at all. As it stands, I have to go watch a separate review anyways to see the devices without the, sometimes hideous, skins on them. I highly doubt this will mean anything, as having the content at all is better for you guys as a company, but I hope that you consider trying to partner with somebody else for devices.
  9. You don't need to create that function. You can modify document.title in any JavaScript on the page to modify the title. Here is a quick example: var someBoolean = true;if (someBoolean){ document.title = "Some awesome string!";}
  10. I upgraded my laptop from a 5400 RPM 500 GB HDD to a 256 GB SSD pretty recently and the difference it makes is astounding. I do a lot of reads/writes on my drive as I'm doing programming at college, and it has held up perfectly. I'm not sure about any other manufacturers, but Samsung provides software that allows you to set the performance of the SSD for longevity.
  11. Outstanding build quality and speakers actually meant for listening. Can't really beat that.
  12. Of course it can... All Windows RT devices can be updated to Windows RT 8.1. Just go to the Windows Store on your device and there should be a big tile for the update.
  13. I'd say the Lumia 625. Getting another BB OS7 device wouldn't be worth it, and I think Android might be a bit too confusing for a non-techie. My dad is a non-techie person, but he has no trouble at all using a Windows Phone. You also can't go wrong with the build quality and apps from Nokia.
  14. FTFY. Yeah, I really don't see why it would be twice the price... /s
  15. I think the title pretty much sums it up. Spent a couple minutes in Photoshop and came up with this.
  16. Yeah, BB OS 7 isn't that great of a platform. BB10 is fairly good, but the cheapest device you can get for that is the Q5. Windows Mobile has been gone for years... Windows Phone (WP8 in the case of the 520) is an entirely new platform. Also, that simply isn't true. If you tell me which apps you use, I can tell you whether or not Windows Phone has them.
  17. My first smartphone was the Samsung Focus. My favourite smartphone so far has been the Nokia Lumia 920. I'd love to try out a bunch of different phones as daily drivers, but it just isn't financially feasible.
  18. Best cheap smartphone I can think of is the Lumia 520. I know Wind don't offer it, but you can get it for under $150 off contract. You would just have to make sure that they would be alright with you doing that, and that it would be compatible with their network.
  19. Not an Android user, so no. Should be interesting to see what Google price it at though.
  20. I would never even want to attempt trying to program on a touchscreen. Hot keys/shortcuts, and easy access to symbols/special characters would be out the window. I would suggest this one. I've owned two Satellites, and I am currently using one of them in my computer programming course. Reasons to pick the Satellite over the ASUS VivoBook you linked: Better CPU Double the RAM (having IDEs and dev tools open takes up a lot of RAM) 250 GB bigger HDD (some libraries you might use can take up a couple GB each) Gigabit ethernet port (I shouldn't have to explain the benefit here) DVD-drive (yes, you might still need this at some point) Only 0.2 kg heavier
  21. Wait for the ASUS Transformer Book T100. It seriously looks to dominate everything else on offer, especially at $349 with a dock and running Windows 8.1 (not RT).
  22. I usually get 2-3 days out of my Lumia 920. I really wish the screen was AMOLED so that I could get even more out of it.
