  1. I built my pc a few years ago and have recently been wanting to get into gamecube emulation. Currently my pc can't run dolphin emulated gamecube games at a solid framerate which I assume is because my cpu isn''t good enough. What I want to do is pretty much just upgrade my cpu enough so that it can run dolphin and also not have a negative impact on other tasks. My current specs are CPU: AMD FX-6300 RAM: 8GB GPU: Nvidia GTX 960 This pc is used primarily for web browsing, coding, and gaming
  2. wow that worked. i ruled it out because it worked for safe mode and post message and also because i couldnt find another cable without disconnecting something else. Thanks!!
  3. Hi. I brought my pc home from college over the winter break and i didnt bring my hdmi monitor that i normally use because i have a dvi monitor here (NEC Multisync 1740CX). whenever i boot it up, the screen shows the BIOS post message and then proceeds to the windows logo with the loading animation and then loses signal. when i try to go to the BIOS it just displays a black screen but doesnt lose signal. I convinced my brother to let me borrow an old hdmi monitor which works perfectly fine. if i boot into safe mode and disconnect the hdmi monitor it works fine but i dont know what to do after that step. i've tried checking for driver updates and rolling back and even restoring my pc but nothing's worked so far specs: Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 14393) (14393.rs1_release_inmarket.161208-2252) System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. BIOS: BIOS Date: 10/28/14 18:04:45 Ver: 04.06.05 Processor: AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor (6 CPUs), ~3.5GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM Graphics Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 sorry if I'm doing this wrong I dont post on forums often

  5. ok is there a good way for me to connect my headphones to the back? (prefereably a cheaper option than buying new headphones)
  6. as a person who's only really used laptops and all-in-ones and just built a desktop, how do people normally get their headphone cable to reach the headphone jack in the back of their pc and keep it under the desk? I dont have enough room to put it on my desk.
  7. @shanmu54321 omg i forgot to crop it out oops, i think its giving me new notifications whenever theres a new post (i dont really check them haha) @MiniBaa and @shanmu54321 it looks like that worked, it seems so simple i dont know why i didnt try it earlier, thank you so much!
  8. I just built my first pc and i have a 120 gB ssd and a 1tB hdd. windows 7 recognizes my ssd fine but when i look at "my computer" only the ssd shows up. i did some searching online and there were people saying to look at "computer management" and format the drive but when i try to do that the only drive other than my ssd is called "system reserved" which is 100 megabytes and then 930 megabytes unallocated and when i try to format it it says that windows cant format the drive. can anyone help me?
  9. also which ssd should i get instead?
  10. i probably will be using this for more than just games but also like internet browsing and stuff like that so will i miss those extra cores at all? im starting out as a computer science student if that means anything to this build i forgot to mention i will probably be able to dig up an old hard drive so i dont really need mass storage just enough for the os and a few games and apps on the ssd
  11. ok this is my first build and i was wondering if there was any changes that i should make to my parts list. my budget is under $600 US and i plan to be gaming at 1080p on one monitor with maybe a second running at a lower resolution to have a walkthrough open or something i dont need any peripherals or OS http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Jtfbzy
  12. ok thanks for all the answers guys I'm gonna get the g602
