  1. To take advantage of the HDR feature you would need content that is HDR to begin with and by streaming I assume you mean over your local network not over the internet like Netflix for example. I'm almost certain that you can't stream HDR content over your local network at the moment and compression would likely be kinda heavy. You would be better off getting a small cheap pc for your TV.
  2. I memtest all the time when I think I found my maximum. Currently I'm at 2400mhz 12 12 12 36 1T and my benchmarks went to 34.241GB/s read, 34.595GB/s write, 30.037GB/s copy and down to 43.6ns. I'm pretty happy with that.
  3. My RAM has an XMP profile for DDR3 1600 @ 9-9-9-24-CR2 but I wanted to overclock it. So far I've gotten up to 2600Mhz @ 11-13-12-20-CR1 with 1.65v on the DRAM but my read speed hasn't gone up much. The XMP benchmarks show 23.1GB/s read, 23.2GB/s write, 21.1GB/s copy and 55.4ns latency but when overclocked I can only get 25.4GB/s read, 37.0GB/s write, 27.7GB/s copy and 45ns latency. WHy would write speeds go up but not copy or read much? Maybe I need to tweak my timings?
  4. Any possibility you could find that on a canadian site?
  5. Does anyone know where I can find a 3.5mm 4 pole female to dual 3.5mm 3 pole adapter? I want to use a headset with a 4 pole connector with my PC and my PC has separate mic and headphone jacks.
  6. So I hate how slow the stock photo/image viewer is in Windows 10. it doesn't show me the full resolution until I zoom in and when it does it lags a bit, clearly it's not GPU accelerated. Are there any alternatives you guys use?
  7. I'm running a 3570K with a Hyper 212 and at 4.4Ghz my CPU can easily hit 90°C at 1.256v. I know ivy bridge CPUs run hot because Intel screwed up the tim under the IHS and I'm thinking about replacing it but I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure I could do it and I've seen videos online of it being done but I was wondering if anyone had anything to say about deliding a CPU.
  8. I currently have a 8GB kit of 1600Mhz CL9 DDR3 ram in my system and 8GB is not enough for rise of the tomb raider on very high settings. I added 4GB extra of the same ram and it helped but it's only temporary. I know it's not recommended but is there any reason I can't put a 16GB kit in my system alongside the 8GB kit that's already in there? I know the capacity won't match but if the spec is the same i assume it should just work.
  9. Are the special edition about the same price?
  10. Yea but they need to be charged. I'm sure they sound just fine but I'm not looking for something I need to charge.
  11. I'm not a fan of wireless when it comes to audio.
  12. I need a new pair of earbuds for my phone and I've been looking at the Shure SE215 earbuds and they seem pretty good but I'm not 100% sure yet. If you own a pair let me know what you think of them.
  13. So I got a drive that a friend and I use to store stuff on but I woudl like for him to be able to access the drive while he's at home (he doesn't live with me). I assume I would have to setup a port or something and make the drive visible to the internet but I have no clue how to do that and especially do it securely. Currently it's setup as a network share off my PC so anyone on my network and in my homegroup can map a network drive and use it but I'd like it if he could use it over the internet.
  14. Yea I'd like to setup a NAS but money is tight and the drive is old so if it dies it won't matter. I only really plan on using it to transfer files between PCs on my network.
  15. So i got this old 400GB sata drive and I put it in an external USB 3 enclosure. I want to use it as public storage for my network and I did get it working but I don't know if it's the optimal way to do so. Basically I made a homegroup and made all the PC's on my network join it then I added the drive to the share and on the other PC's I clicked map network drive and selected it. Is this the optimal way to set this up? I don't have a server so i'm just using my desktop PC. It works just fine but I figured I'd ask and see if there is a better way to set this up.
  16. Just what I usually have open and nothing is running that I don't know about.
  17. I'm looking for a serious answer.
  18. That's not my problem though. It's a huge waste of CPU resources when if it doesn't seem to be a problem.
  19. G700S. I have it set to 1000Hz polling but I tested it at a lower polling rate and the same thing happens. I looked into it a bit more and it's explorer.exe causing the problem and it doesn't do this weird behavior at all when it's over something like taskmanager or the taskbar at the bottom.
  20. I know a virus can do many stupid things but it only happens on empty desktop space, if I open chrome or anything it's fine.
  21. No, I can't see why a virus would do that anyways.
  22. For some reason moving my mouse makes my 4th CPU core jump up to around 100% when moving it over empty space on my desktop. It doesn't seem to do it anywhere else other that empty space on my desktop. I know USB mice do consume some CPU cycles unlike PS/2 but this seems a bit ridiculous. Maybe it's a Windows bug.
  23. I opened taskmanager to see my wireless adapter has some weird graph thing on it, never used to be like this but it is now for some reason. I didn't install any software or anything just been watching YouTube videos all day so idk if this is a new feature from some update or what. Doesn't seem to do anything and I can draw boxes on it for some reason. UPDATE: I reopened taskmanager and it's gone now... weird.
