Aristos reacted to jaslion in Soundbar recommendation 2023
So first of all AVOID sonos like the plague. It's super closed off and annoying to deal with.

much better than these mediocre soundbars

I only consider Sony or LG. As far as I read posts, Sonos is an absolute headache with their closed off echo system and at a whim they can hold your devices hostage with a single update disabling functionality when the device is too old.
Samsung scammed me with their discount by after buying their products them deciding they actually no longer feel like sending my trade in value back so I can't ever recommend another Samsung as I can't guarantee they won't decide to change their mind during any discounts or sales to you as well.

Well of course they don't sound as clear on low volume; that's what happens when you turn the volume down. You could always try the rear motherboard jack, or if you like spending money, get a Fiio E10K, Schiit Fulla, or SMSL SD793-II.

Aristos reacted to UltraNeonGaming in Noctua Nf-a14 pwm alternative
No problem!
Also by the NF-S12a's I meant the non-PPC version (There is no PPC S12a), I would get the normal NF-A14 if you can cos they will be quieter but if you just hate the color then just go with the black PPC version.
Enjoy building your PC!

Aristos reacted to GoodBytes in 24" IPS Monitor
Response time is the measure from a gray color to another gray color. Hence why it says "6ms g-t-g" in the specs.
So, I ask you, which gray to which gray? Tip: further they are, the slower the speed you'll get. The closer they are, the faster the speed it will be.
Hint: Each manufacture uses their own 2 set of grays.
So what can we conclude from this? Meaningless figure unless you compare the monitor with the same SERIES within the same manufacture.
That is why you have, and its VERY true, 1ms response time monitor, which are god awful, facing sever ghosting issues.
How to know? Read in depth monitor reviews, where they have the equipment and the know how, on to use it properly, and give you the reality of things.
So to answer your question:
The last monitors are 120Hz monitor. Keep in mind that it shows response time, not the fact that it displays more frames for smoother looking game experience.
Source and full in depth review of the monitor you are looking at: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/asus_pa248q.htm
If you are a hard core FPS player, especially if you are playing competitively, I suggest for you to get a 120Hz monitor. Keep in mind that you need your game to play at 120fps solid for the monitor to really shine. That is why most pros plays their games at minimum settings, despite powerful hardware. They don't care about visuals.
If you play FPS casually, or for fun, and play other genre of games, especially if you seek for the best in game visuals and really want to have the art work from the game artists and art direction shine, then go with the IPS panels.
