  1. Yes I tried it out, worked for my pwm fans connected to my rad but thats about all it did, i ended up rerouting the case fans to fan headers 3 and 4. i ended up using the options in the bios, which works but i still feel like lacks control. cpu fans still are attached to the pwm fan splitter connected to the cpu fan header.
  2. I will give it a whirl, i did happen to find ai suite ii with more functionality under the windows 7 driver downloads and not the windows 8.1 area. anyone try speedfan? worth checking out if this fails?
  3. For whatever reason i didnt see fan xpert on the asus suite ii for my motherboard 990fx. But what i am saying is i am controlling all fans on the same channel essentially in the bios. Which is exactly what i dont want to do. I want control over all my fan individually. Your saying i can do that in the bios if i reroute all my fans to different channels on my motherboard?
  4. I just feel it is a little odd to control everything from the fan splitter connected to the motherboard.
  5. I recently purchased a h220-x, it included a pwm fan splitter so what i ended up doing is plugging all my fans into it. Now not just the rad fans but the case fans as well and ehhh not really feeling it. I can have the asus bios auto control them based on temperatures, or shut that off and run everything at 100%. I want more control what should i do?
  6. The problem with the define r4 is mounting a rad at the top, people have done it but it is a tight squeeze. I placed the rad in the front and I am not seeing too much heat being built up in the case right now.
  7. I am about to install a custom loop in my define r4, top mount really is not an option. So I am looking to take advantage of the front mount. I will be able to fit the 240 rad and 2 120 fans in the front but am concerned that if I position the fans to pull air inside of the case a lot of warm air is going to get built up in there. I understand it is not optimal but I can't see positioning them to blow outside of the case because then I have no airflow. Isn't warm airflow better than no airflow, I don't know if it will make a huge difference in the temp of my components but I am just wondering.
  8. Might want to look at the Lepa Vortex fan, it won't break the bank. I have used them before and they do what they advertised to do, you get the "vortex push". I should add, they are optimized to run silent like you were looking for.
  9. Without a doubt I would go with Xubuntu.
  10. Price is high for what you are getting obviously. Complete lack of upgrading on their devices. The option to only upgrade while checking out is just nonsense, when you have a laptop you should still have options to upgrade it when you like. It is too bad OSX is not an OS that you can just put on every PC, they limit it to their computers and it is just kind of a bummer.
  11. I think it is fine to have a toothbrush with these features, but not for that price. Been thinking about getting an electric toothbrush myself, just not at this price haha.
  12. FYI Microsoft Security Essentials is not compatible with Windows 8.1, so your just stuck with using Windows Defender. But I am also going to assume that they both offer the same protection correct?
  13. I'd disagree to some extent, the XSPC Raystorm just bends pretty good regardless of how hard you tighten it down. Regardless I am currently going with an older EK block otherwise, such as the EK Supreme LTX. However still shopping around before I make a purchase.
  14. You should be able to, I have seen cards at 11.5" fit in there no problem with the drive cage still installed. Looks like most R9 290 cards are at about 10.9".
  15. I am currently using a FX-8320 CPU, I have an extra XSPC 240mm radiator lying around so I am looking at purchasing parts for a waterloop for my AMD based system. So I figured I would start with the CPU waterblock, was wondering on your guys opinions. Preferably I would like to stay away from any acrylic ones, only because they are known to bend and that just cramps my style.
