If so RIP. at least that's how they will stop it from eating into 1080 sales.

Fgtfv567 got a reaction from tsk in Does Apple throttle performance for old iPhones? Futuremark settles the question
I think there's a serious disconnect between an SoC's raw performance versus the Real World User Experience of a phone.

OK, the raw performance of the phone under benchmarks didn't change, and that's still good, but benchmarks are not the way to measure a phone's smoothness (or how much it stutters).

I wish the researcher would have contacted one of the writers at XDA-Developers to learn more about real world UX and tools to investigate how smooth a phone really is, such as GPU Profiling

I never like using "just root it and install X" as an answer to phone problems.  It's basically an admission that you're willing to settle for bad practices out of the box because hey, you can fix it later.  Like going to a restaurant with mediocre food because you can 'fix' it with sauce you brought from home.  Yeah, you took care of it, but you've also told the provider that you're perfectly willing to pay for their crap.  They never get the hint that they need to change.

Fgtfv567 reacted to Master Disaster in Uodated - Want to progress in SW:BFII? You'd better be ready to spend money
Video source so nothing to quote however Angry Joe just did an assessment of battlefronts progression system and once again the gaming industry finds a way to rape our wallets with their bullshit.

Are you ready for this one? Multiplayer progression in SW:BFII is 100% dependant on the loot crate system. Yep, you literally cannot progress in the game without depending on the RNG BS of loot crates.

Allow me to explain, each team has 4 classes and each class has multiple weapons available. For BFII unlocking new weapons and attachments for weapons is locked behind scrap, not in game currency but scrap. In game currency is used to buy loot boxes, scrap comes out of boxes.

Every single player receives the exact same amount of in game currency per game, there is zero difference between first place & last place (the amount seems to depend on what game mode you're playing) so in game loot boxes are unlocked at the same rate for all players however scrap can only be gotten in lots of 10 or 20 by way of loot box drops and it's totally RNG on whether you get any scrap at all.

Weapons cost 600 scrap each and attachments cost 100 scrap each.

See the problem here? Unlocks used to be tied to level progression but now your level means nothing. You can be a level 100 and still have only the first gun or you can be a level 0 whose spent money on crates and unlocked everything in the game before he's even started.

You're 100% dependant on the games RNG loot box system as to whether you get to unlock better guns. Angry Joe also theorises this system will be the same for other stuff too like grenades and equipment upgrades though that's not in the beta.

Once again we're here, as AJ puts it, a full priced AAA game which uses an exact replica of a F2P games progression system.

Pretty much every single AAA games that's released this quarter has been filled with this BS.

Please stop buying these games, vote with your wallets.

    EDIT

In the interest of fairness it seems like this situation might not be as bad as we think, EA has responded today and addressed some of our concerns. They assure fans that progression in the main game is tied to level, star cards will have a minimum level requirement before they can be equipped as will upgrading heroes and abilities and loot boxes will contain much more stuff than in the beta including guns, attachments, skins and other cosmetic items too.

Essentially a player can still buy a load of stuff but they'll need to play to a certain level before they can use any of it.

Who knows if this is a change made because of the backlash or the plan all along but either way its a positive. Still not enough for me to buy it though.

Apple is actually far behind android.
My android phone can read my thoughts and verify that it is actually me based on what I am thinking about, then it allows me to enter the rest of the 5-step verification process.
    1- password
    2- fingerprint
    3- iris scan
    4- facial scan
5- person come to my house to verify it is me
Then i can safely and securely get into my android phone.

My biggest disappointment was when I built my little sister her first real gaming rig.

I had built my first rig a year or two earlier after 5 years of saving up and it was a god machine. My sister after seeing this finally put together enough to replace her own computer and I had me spec and build within her budget since I had a knack for researching these things.

For the first time ever I chose to build with AMD because for ~$300 I could buy a processor that on paper was roughly equivalent to my own 3970x this was of course the FX-9590. The outrageous 220w tdp was easy enough to deal with but what I had failed to realize was that only 5 or so motherboards on the market could handle the power requirements of this hunk of junk processor. So I built the system turn it on and everything works as intended, and for a time my sister played a lot of classic titles like Age of Empires 2, Roller coaster tycoon among others and these of course ran great but fast forward 2 years later she finally picks up Skyrim and the random crashes begin.

Of course this being Skyrim and I myself a massive mod user crashing is a normal daily occurrence but after awhile of playing with a dead stock build of Skyrim and crashing I installed a few other newer titles and came to realize that once the processor load got to a certain point which changed constantly the system would crash and shut down.

To this day my sister is still using this rig because she hasn't had the money to replace it and neither have I. To my greater shame I would probably still side with AMD simply because she doesn't need the bleeding edge performance that I expect out of my own personal rig.

All that said I learned from the whole incident not only to not fully trust the paper specs in comparison to real world results but to be wary of AMD tenancy to use the same socket for long periods of time as it introduces compatibility issues that I otherwise don't face with Intel.

I hope for Christmas to get a replacement 1700x or 1800x if I can manage it with a good motherboard so she can at least have a fully stable system and I can forgive myself for my oversight.

Well thanks to Scott at StrangeParts thats been assuredly disproven. If a guy with some hacks and know how can do it, then certainly Apple could have engineered it. As was thought, it was just a ploy to get licensing royalties for the lightening connector.
