It's cheaper long term, more expensive short.

H3iman reacted to Victorious Secret in Obama: My administration is against Internet fast lanes
The FCC might fall under his rule, but I think people are seriously confused with how the US Republic works. Yes, REPUBLIC. Not a democracy. Obama is still at the whim of the Congress and Senate. If his party doesn't reign supreme over both areas, he can't do shit. Its the VPs job to keep the Senate in line, and the House Whip to make sure Congress damn well does what the President wants done.

Now add in the fact that votes in the US system are open to the highest bidder, regardless of what party you're from. If Obama wants his way, he needs to compromise. He can't just bulldoze his way through and do what he wants, hes a President not a dictator. Hell, in the US Republic the Presidential power really shines during wartime (Commander in Chief is a thing remember) but beyond that? He's at the mercy of what the Senate and Congress decide, the best he can do is propose legislation that compromises enough to pass and still get the job done.

Its not that simple for Obama to just "say" anything and have it be done. Look at what happened with ACA, that thing got twisted six ways from sunday as it went through the house. And are you seriously saying nationalized heathcare is a bad thing? WHAT? Okay then, go spend half your budget on weapons then, clearly thats better than a healthcare infrastructure and education.
Jesus, some people really need to learn how politics, especially in America, actually work.

    H3iman reacted to jmaster299 in 780ti or 780 for 1080p 144hz gaming?
There's no shortage of 60Hz monitors. I'm only going to spell this out because it seems like you don't fully understand how things work, so don't take offense. The refresh rate of a monitor, measured in hertz, is the number of times per second the monitor refreshes the image on the screen. You want that number to be as close to the number of Frames Per Second (FPS) that your GPU is rendering for the smoothest possible image. They won't always be equal, so it's better if the monitors refresh rate exceeds your FPS, and not the other way around. So having a monitor that supports more than 60Hz is not bad, but it's a complete waste to go with a 144Hz monitor unless you intend to have the graphics processing power to back it up. Many 60Hz monitors these days will support up to 75Hz, more than enough for a single 780 or 780 Ti.
Now, tackling that specific issue, the performance bump from a 780 to a 780 Ti is generally not worth the premium that you will have to pay. If you are in a situation where you want to run something like 144fps/hz or resolutions higher than 1920x1080. Finding the right monitor depends on what's more important to you. IPS monitors have the best color reproduction, but unless you are doing work in Adobe where you need perfectly color reproduction, an IPS monitor is unnecessary. IPS monitors have the drawback of slower response times, the response time being how quickly the monitor clears one frame and produces the next in it's place. For gaming, lower response times help to reduce input lag. Input lag being the delay between you processing a mouse or keyboard button and you seeing that action produced on the monitor. TVs have really high response times and it's a big reason why console gaming seems sluggish.
So, what's more important to you, perfect color reproduction or better gaming performance. Most of the IPS snoobs here will say that the response times on IPS monitors are "good enough" but to that I say the color reproduction on good quality TN panels is "good enough".

H3iman got a reaction from skullbringer in Looking for new headphones/mic or headset...
For closed back headphones, your best bet would be the Beyerdynamic DT 770, but unless you've got a headphone amp you'll definitely want the 32 OHM version. That, paired with an Antlion Modmic 4.0, and you'll be good to go. This combo will provide the best sound quality for your money.

If you're deadset on wireless though, the Astro A50 and Steelseries H Wireless are both out of your price range at $300 each, you may want to check out the Corsair Vengeance 2100 Wireless and Logitech G930, currently priced on Amazon US at $90 and $110 respectively. Be warned, you'll get far, far better sound quality both with the audio and microphone if you go with the DT 770 and Modmic.

Destiny looks really good, but I'm not going to buy a console just to get into the console exclusives. Make a port on PC or I'm not interested. Hopefully attitudes like this make Bungie care for the PC players. I enjoyed Halo CE, and have long awaited for another PC port from them...
