  1. Linus, you said that you hadn't seen ads in like 10 years... http://gfycat.com/HardExhaustedAntbear ?
  2. I have a 3770k @ 4.5GHz at 1.25V paired with a Noctua NH-D14, under Prime95 it hits around 70*c. Totally worth it imo (built it in 2012).
  3. Hey guys, I've been trying to find some replacement keys for my Corsair K90. They have black laser etched keys (as you can see here). All that i'm really looking for is the directional keys, as my left arrow key. I NEED it as I code a lot, and I don't really want a mismatching key. I wouldn't mind switching out several keys of a set, but really it's just the one that I need to replace. As a reminder from the title, i'm in the UK and there doesn't seem to be many suppliers of decent key cap replacements.
  4. If you just want to run javascript, take it out of the form, and use a button element, rather than an input submit button: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_button.asp
  5. There's 2 big companies really, Virgin Media and British Telecommunications (BT). This is a fairly nice article about them both, although it doesn't get into their background too much: http://www.choose.net/media/guide/features/bt-super-fast-fibre-broadband-network.html BTs upload can be around twice as fast (depending on if you actually get what BT is supposed to be giving you) as Virgin Medias, but Virgin Medias download is twice as fast. BT is known for not delivering anywhere near their actual speed - Here's a video of BT getting flak from a consumers advice show called Watchdog which investigates big and small companies after complaints about them. - One of the most important part is 04:30 - 05:40I've heard of a lot of Virgin Media customers having trouble too, although that tends to be overutilization or problem with the equipment that they provide. Note that you *HAVE* to use the modem that they give you (but you can use any router/adapters you want for the LAN aspect). As my speed tests show, I'm with Virgin Media so I may be a bit biased towards them but, I haven't had too many issues with them and they don't throttle downloads anymore (and there's no caps), but they do throttle uploads (and the upload speeds suck as you can see, roughly 10:1 ratio down:up).
  6. It's higher latency within the UK, than from within the UK to outside the UK. (I'm slightly further west in Wales than that guy). To London: To Netherlands: I think the problem is that there's loads of crappy / highly utilised nodes and most traffic just goes through there, rather than routing through less utilised nodes to be faster (longer path around, but less congestion).

    Display woes

Hey guys, for the past couple of years I've been using a 46 inch~ and a 24 inch TV. I've mainly been gaming on the larger TV, however now the 46 inch TV appears to be dying (as it keeps flickering for some period of time then goes and comes back). I was kind of hoping to get a 4k with Adaptive-Sync (display port 1.2a) monitor however I believe that display port 1.2a won't be coming out for another year or so, and as I now have this problem pushing my schedule early of grabbing a monitor earlier, I was kind of wondering what would be the best option for now. I've watched Linus' videos on the 4k monitors and basically what I got is that they're very nice, but the text scaling and such just plain sucks. I haven't managed to see a 4k monitor for myself and I don't even think there are any stores nearby that would expo a 4k monitor or TV with a PC (I live in a small town in the UK). Obviously gaming at 4k would look great but basically require SLI/Crossfire GPUs. Obviously I could switch to 1080p mode but that kind of makes half the time that I'd be using a 4k monitor pointless. I'm a programmer so having the real-estate space would be quite nice, and the colour reproduction isn't that important to me. If I were to split the desktop up into 4 separate ones with software, I can only imagine that it would probably make the individual screens too small for a 28 inch monitor (again, I don't exactly have access to examples). Looking at it, my thoughts were that the only real option that I currently have would be to get a cheap 1080p monitor, however I'd like to know what you guys would do. As for my GPU, I'm using a 7970 GHz which has these connectors: 1 x HDMI (with 3D) 1 x Single-Link DVI-D 1 x DisplayPort 1.2 1 x Dual-Link DVI-I
