  1. I'm pretty deep into machine learning. I'm now outnumbered by machines, which is cool. I notice Google is pushing their TPU hardware service now. The latest versions of Tensorflow are only supported by 2 high end cards like the Titan V. So I'm now convinced Nvidia's next line up will be themed heavily around machine learning. Anyone know when they are gonna release though?
  2. Is there a strict policy against similar topics. Never had people act this way in a forum.
  3. Yeah I may have gotten too excited. In my defense, my post is probably the best executed.
  4. So I think Nvidia is messing with Linus now because they actually made the Titan Xp https://techcrunch.com/2017/04/06/nvidias-new-titan-xp-top-end-graphics-card-also-offers-mac-support/
  5. I tested this Zotac zbox and it did handle 1440p just barley. There was cpu buffering for 4k video. This thing will make a decent 1080p thin client but It took forever to install Windows. The computer almost seems like a toy. In comparison, I also picked up a AsRock Q1900M. Despite both having a quad at 2 ghz, the asrock motherboard was much faster. It did have a higher graphics speed as well. Downside was that it was only a cpu/motherboard combo. So no wifi, power, or case but end pricing would be similar. If form factor doesn't matter, I would definitely suggest the q1900m for a budget $200 htpc.
  6. It needs memory, both kinds. But still crazy what the new 14nm chips can do in such a form factor. https://www.zotac.com/us/product/mini_pcs/zbox-bi323#spec
  7. Wanted to update, this thing was collecting dust for over a year because I had no idea what to use it for. Too small for anything crazy and not small enough for Raspberry pi level projects. When I heard about the Dropbox breach, I finally thought of the perfect task for this thing. Owncloud, personally hosted storage. Perfect to offload photos from my phones and keep important docs synced. @Ramamataz Sorry long delay, case is Habey EMC-600B perfect for low power mini itx builds
  8. Watching Linus mow lawns was entertaining. Pro tip, I wouldn't take business advice from him except under some special situations. I say that because I tried to call a bunch of companies for lawn care and couldn't find anyone. Unless you also plan to setup a management and scheduling system, I suggest a company like TaskEasy for both home owners and contractors looking to earn money from mowing lawns.
  9. You can read the Amazon listing page. It says Gigabyte is the seller. I realize 3rd parties are jacking up the prices, so too are the manufacturers. I don't think it's uneducated people either, if you got the money and want one, it's economics not education.
  10. It seems Gigabyte tried to sell their GTX 1060s for $350 today. Price ended at $290 after a series of bad comments. Still the stock sold out really fast.
  11. Just to update, I was enjoying the performance of the RX 480 but the software was a huge disappointment. I sold it today after using it for a few weeks. I made a nice little profit, so the toast shop is back on.
  12. I will buy you a magic wand, so you don't get your panties in a bunch. I do like the toast option still. I might open a toast shop and charge $4 a slice. Maybe setup some iphone chargers to attract the hipsters.
  13. So I bought a Radeon RX 480 today. I mostly got it to play Doom as I have a 1 gb card now. I had to get the 4 gb because they were selling like hot cakes. I could sell it on Ebay for a small profit. I was thinking, I could buy like 6 toasters from Walmart and toast a loaf all at once. What are some other ways I could spend the profits? I'm weighing my options here.
