So, suppose 4790k bottleneck your 980Ti. Why are you going to do? Find a even faster CPU? If you can..... :lol:

People are biased towards Intel for gaming because most DX11 and older games don't use more then 4 cores/threads. Between the FX-8320 and competing options though, it's a matter of 8 weaker cores vs 4 stronger cores and what you do with them. Again most games use 4 cores or less, so obviously 4 stronger cores is better for gaming. 
 
Some benefits of Intel:
Clock speed isn't everything, Intel has much better IPC then AMD with the current chips, meaning every MHz does more with Intel. A better upgrade path, you can get an H97/Z97 board and use it with Intel's lowest end desktop Celeron, then upgrade it to the highest-end Broadwell i7 later on Less heat output and lower power consumption However Intel cores are NOT twice as powerful as AMD FX cores, so outside of gaming and in content creation which can utilize all of those cores, the FX6 and FX8 definitely beat out the competing i3 and low-end i5 options for the price range, respectively. 
 
AMD isn't the worst in every case, either. 4 cores is the sweet spot for AAA gaming, so in that regard Intel's G3258 gets beat out by AMD's competing 860K for the price range. While for more single-threaded games like MMOs and MOBAs though, the G3258's better per-core performance pulls ahead instead, so once again, highly depends on the usage scenario.
 
Of course, once you hit the unlocked i5 to HT Xeon range, AMD has nothing to compete if you're looking for multi-threaded performance, so in that case it's not really a bias but just more of there not being an option on the AMD side at all.

A 980ti with something that can't run stuff beyond a 280X/960, have fun with your GPU usage always staying at 30%.

I read some forum post that one of these two plates may fit but we need some confirmation: 980 or Titan. Don't go buying one until we know for sure.

970. The 980 is pretty much pointless from a price/performance standpoint. It's either the 970, or make the jump to a 980Ti. 

i don't think you understand there buddy all those things are sponsored no money came out of his pocket, where as scrapyard wars they don't have sponsors for so anything they do is with their own cash YouTube ads don't make much(as far as i know) and some people still use ad block like D-bags

40K in the stock market already thanks to the parents a long long time ago and only growing(auto reinvest) i don't plan on touching it until i really really need to, wasnt concerned about boot not after 4 years njrotc which means automatic E3 , i dont intend on blowing the whole signing on bonus just a bit of it to spoil myself with because it was a B**** to convince my mom to get my current rig so its kinda like a finger to them but my rig will go to my little brother most likely

you are entitled to your opinion however heat is a major issue with them so ill switch to green AMD is great the original reason i went with amd was the excellent price-to-performance ratio but i didn't think the heat would bother me so its not a horsepower upgrade...(although ill need to start looking at some 4K monitors ) but reduction of heat expelled and less power consumed by only have 1 card not 2

a case from case labs anything from them....i have yet to find a decent review of them

naw i have other games like plague inc and JC2 skyrim city skylines...etc if my favorite game was by the amount of played time its skyrim by far i mean like close to 200 hours on the game according to steam

im selling both of my r9 290s to get a 980ti...soon I'm thinking of attempting to sell one to some uneducated smuck for $350-400 if that doesn't work ill sell both for 400 (200 each) and gather another 100-200 either way im getting a 980Ti hopefully with a smexy back plate too

I sincerely hope AMD can pull something off.  If not, it could be a while before another major competitor enters the market.
