  1. 1080ti, so 2 displayport and 2 hdmi. I just wasn't sure if the hdmi to dp could keep the signal.
  2. So two days ago new desk, and 3rd monitor came in. Got everything setup and it was great. I knew my GPU had run out of displayport plugs so I bought an hdmi 2.0 cable to make sure I could get 4k 60hz on all 3. Come to find out the one spec I did not check was the monitor itself that does not support 4k 60 via hdmi, only 4k 30. So I am just wondering if there are any solutions out there to get 4K 60 to 3 monitor via 2 displayport plugs from my GPU.
  3. I did reapply thermal paste around 5 months ago before returning to school, the backplate is in the correct orientation, the hold-down hardware is correct with the washers on and the caps torqued down. I'm fairly well versed having incrementally built this system over 5 years but I'm fairly lost with this one.
  4. So I am running an i7 6700k at stock clocks and voltage with an H100i Pro but the temps are sitting at 50-60 idle and up to 80 on load. I am open to looking for a new cooler but would like any recommendations, if getting a new one would be the right option which one, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I'm just trying to format it in my new windows install, with disk management the option to format is simply greyed out. With diskpart it gives this error: https://gyazo.com/cf9206b924baca96012449deb452a649
  6. Alrighty so I'll start with some context, I used to use a 500GB Samsung 950 Evo ssd as my boot drive. I have since bought a 960 Evo m.2 ssd and now I would like to format the 950 Evo so I can use it for my linux install. I've tried disk management as well as diskpart and both will not allow me to format the drive. If anyone could give me some guidance so that I can format this drive as I do not use any of the files on it anymore so I would like to use it for better things. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Last time I had a problem like that I first uninstalled the game through steam, then I navigated to the game directory in programfiles/steam/steamapps/common/skyrim and deleted the entire skyrim folder. When you uninstall through steam this folder does not get deleted. If you are willing to/have fast internet go ahead and try this.
  8. First thing I would try is to go into the game properties, click on local files, and verify integrity of game cache. This will check for any missing/corrupt files and if it finds any it will re download them.
  9. Personally I just made the switch to a macbook pro (March 2015). The reason is that I am a computer science student and I just prefer the development environment of Mac OS. I do have a gaming desktop for my free time but for work I prefer my macbook pro. You can find a refurbished 2015 macbook pro for $1,100 on apples website. Mine is a refurbished model and it looks and preforms like a brand new laptop.
  10. I've been thinking about getting a set of cables from cable mod myself, good luck with any future upgrades.
  11. Take off the top of the case and see if there are any wires loose from the button or anywhere else they go, follow them and make sure they all have good connections.
  12. Would definitely recommend the i5 build over the FX build.
  13. I am waiting for a few more generations of products. I want them to refine the experience rather then pay $600 for a very early product that is not as refined as it will be in the future. I feel that many prospective buys are doing this, they are on the edge, not willing to drop the buy in for vr now but are willing to wait it out and see what the future holds for the market.
  14. Yeah I have the 4k monitor set as main and do my YouTube watching and web browsing on the 1080p monitor, was just wondering if there was anyway to make it better.
