So im a noob overclocker, just started for the irst time last night. I have a Gigabyte Z97-HD3 and im trying to overclock my Pentium G3258. I cant get it over 4.2 Ghz without it blue screening. I have it at 42 for the clock ratio (isnt that the same as the multiplier? Not 100% sure) which makes it go at 4.2 Ghz, then i have the voltage at 1.200v and its stable on prime 95 running at around 57-60 degrees celcius. If i increase the ratio to 43/4.3 Ghz it blue screens. And i know this cpu can run higher than 4.2, upwards of 4.5 or 4.6Ghz. So why am i blue screening? Also i changed the ratio when it starts up, when it starts its at 3.9Ghz and on load goes up to 4.2Ghz. But the voltage stays the same and if i up it to 4.0 Ghz and keep the load ratio at 4.2Ghz it will crash on startup, so i really am lost. I think im going to reset it to default settings and start from scratch because i watched a few videos and tweaked a couple settings i cant remember and that might have something to do with it as well. I dont know much about the other controls seeing im new and this is my first time. So a little guidance would be nice. I trust the LTT community, thank you.
