  1. I can only speak for a solid single wire from router to steam link though bear in mid. So if you have problems you should try to get it setup with 1 ethernet cable. You can get pretty long ones for very cheap online.
  2. You're wrong here, I use steam link and it's fine on a wired connection. It's shitty that it never worked for you, but don't just disregard everyone else because something never worked for you.
  3. I have a steam link in the bedroom upstairs and the input lag is near non existent. I think I'm just feeling the input lag of the tv itself since I'm switching from a 144hz monitor. I feel the same type of input lag when using the tv in the living room with a hdmi cable. Can recommend steam link if you can run it wired.
  4. Yep, and even again to add on to that there is art direction. You can have a game with amazing visuals but a super non realistic art direction like overwatch. Then there's doom, which is one of my personal best looking games that I've seen in a while, that game can run on a potato for the most part. Then also battlefield 1, which looks super realistic imo. For some that could be graphically intense if you max it out but yet you can turn post processing to medium and gain about 30 fps with next to no difference to visual quality.
  5. I think the main thing here is to not confuse poorly optimized with graphically intense.
  6. You should keep it enabled in nvidia control panel. The way it's generally advised is as follows. Gsync and vsync enabled in Nvidia panel Vsync disabled in any game using the in game menu. Limit in game fps to about 4 fps below your refresh rate using in game limiter or 3rd party. I use the hex edit method for nvidia control panel to enable the built in fps limiter setting. Obviously if you have a high refresh rate monitor and the game is already locked to 60fps, then don't worry about limiting it. I just enabled the gsync indicator and it's telling me it's enabled in game when running cemu in fullscreen. so I guess it's working. To enable the indicator, open the nvidia control panel and click a display option, such as change resolution. This will then give you another display option at the very top of the window next to the help option. Then select gsync indicator.
  7. Make sure vsync is disabled in cemu by going to options.
  8. This, post process tanks performance. Even on my system I have it on medium, I gain about 30 fps from it depending on the map. A minimum of 20 though.
  9. Google search seems to confirm a 144fps lock.
  10. Never used one, but I imagine you will be fine in terms of comparability as the steam controller api lets you use pretty much any controller with any game on pc.
  11. Console players constantly telling PC gamers graphics and framerate don't matter..And then do nothing but laugh at the switch version of doom being 720p.
Gotta love the You-Tube comments section.

  12. So I'm playing 1440p at the moment but there are some games where I really want more fps. PUBG for example. I've lowered settings to the lowest apart from textures which are on high. Obviously 1080p looks pretty nasty on 1440p monitors due to scaling. So I'm thinking rather than going back to a 1080p monitor, I could upgrade to 4k for the games I can manage to run at that res and 1080p will look better on it due to even scaling or what ever it is. Killing two birds with one stone. It sounds like a good idea in my head, but obviously more opinions on the plan would be helpful.

    PUBG

Put everything on very low. Vie distance on medium and textures on high. That's how I run and so do a lot of people. The game still looks good and runs much better this way.
  14. The new cod is going to open beta on the 29th September. I'll agree with anyone that all cods lately have been shit (for me, after black ops 1). But I'm hoping this year's will be good. You could also play Battlefield 1, though you may want to wait for the new patch to come in as it apparently changes the gun play quite a bit.
  15. Yeah, it seems really good. Though there's only a maximum of 60fps from what I can see.
  16. Thanks. Seems like he's done pretty well for the money he had.
  17. Ok soo everything seems positive apart from the PSU. I'll change it to a Corsair CX550M. Would you agree that is a good psu?
  18. Thanks, I'm excited for him to be honest. He always dips into his money, so I told him the other day, stick to it and keep a strong head Yeah will probz pick up a nice little OS SSD and store games on a hard drive. Forgot to mention the hard drive will be a 1tb out of a tivo box Like I said though, it aint pretty, but just pushing to get it done before he blows the money.
  19. So my nephew had about £200 to get a pc done. He got a 970 for free off his uncle. He got 8gb ram off his uncles friend I've gave him my old case. Got him a 2500k for £65 off ebay. An ASUS P8H61-M LX2 motherboard. £69 Game Max GP650 650W 80+ Bronze PSU£40 The psu probz isn't the best quality, but he wants to get it up and running. Just looking for opinions on this build. I know it's not the prettiest, but hoping he can get games running at 1080p 60fps with tweaked settings.
  20. I use the Coolermaster Masterkeys Pro L which is pretty good.
  21. Have you disabled vsync? I use the fallout 4 config tool to replace the default launcher. I use that to set vsync to 0.
  22. The new one looks like it will be pretty good. But then again...Ubisoft.
  23. Depends on the mods and where about in the game you are. If you're a little bit into the story/campaign then some quality of life mods are always a good thing. If you've finished a game you love then you could get some extra quest mods or what ever. If you've played the game to death and there's not much more you can do, then some silly mods can extend the game again to just fuck about with every now and then. So it really depends on what mods you use and when, but even then it's all subjective.
  24. Good info, but still though, it's weird how killing floor 2 is guaranteed to be a nightmare to download.
  25. A 1tb Western digital Blue. I was thinking about upgrading to A WD black. Literally just a few games that do this. Can't think of anymore at the moment, but Killing Floor 2 is by far the worst.
