The new Metro game came out, he doesn't have time to work at LMG anymore.

    But still ?

At that point you're not really saving much power if that's your concern. IIRC a 3080 can pull north of 300W while gaming. Your laptop and monitor will be another 100W.

So instead of your gaming PC pulling 550W you're going down to 400W which will still absolutely tear through batteries. Meanwhile, an average gaming laptop would be pulling 100-150W.

I definitely agree with the others here, laptop would be the way to go. Thunderbolt 3 eGPU's make it easier to add performance to mid-range laptops, or even gaming laptops with lesser dGPU's in the event that you want to upgrade. Personally, I'd buy a decent gaming laptop and just call it a day in general.

I picked up a refurbished HP Omen 15 from my local Micro Center for $1400 and it was worth every penny: https://www.microcenter.com/product/640898/hp-omen-15-ek1013dx-156-gaming-laptop-computer-refurbished-black

If you can find something like that online, you'll have a solid platform with a nice 300hz G-Sync display all integrated into one. If you want to run external monitors for movies, you can easily do so through thunderbolt or HDMI 2.1.

You could probably sell the 3080 and nab something like that laptop outright as @Arika Smentioned. If you found yourself needing more GPU horsepower in the future, buy something faster than the RTX 3070 Max-Q and run it through TB3, just be mindful that you'll likely incur a 20-30% performance penalty if you run an eGPU through TB3 without using an external monitor as well.

    I'd go laptop.
Decent GPUs today are fuckin' HEAVY, and that can ruin your board and / or card on a bump.

Pack a laptop into a properly padded bag, and you're pretty safe.

It could also be a higher binned chip.

Older Extreme core 2 duo/quad chips were hardly worth their price increase.

Emanbaird got a reaction from Radium_Angel in BSOD and crashes after upgrading CPU cooler and adding fans
I've had issues with iCUE in the past, also if you upgraded to W11 at the same time you upgraded your case/fans/cooler then we wouldn't have any way of ruling that out.

Personally I would uninstall iCUE first to see if the issues persist.

Emanbaird got a reaction from RockSolid1106 in Computer only uses just above 50% of ram before going to pagefile
The pagefile will exist regardless of whether or not it's in use, if you have 16GB then I wouldn't worry unless you are experiencing slowdowns.

I'm not entirely sure but it could also just be that Windows may be benching certain things once it gets to a RAM usage amount, but it's actually pretty common for most apps to sit around the same ram usage %.

Are you noticing any slowdowns or stuttering where your frames drop drastically in games, or things seem to freeze for a moment in other applications?

Emanbaird reacted to Levent in Error code 43
Error 43 is almost always VBIOS or hardware related fault, if you arent:
willing to risk your own money to have a paperweight, dont know how to repair and or have skills, experience and tools to fix a complex card like a graphics card yourself dont get it. GPU that throws out code 43 will perform worse than any integrated gpu that was released in the last 11 years under any and all situations. Its not like someone will sell their RTX2070 for cheap when there is a massive component shortage, I bet someone already diagnosed the issue and deemed it too expensive to fix.

PS/2 Can do N-KEY rollover so that's pretty lit, CPU interrupts are also lit too.

The M just can't do more than 2* inputs because of it's membrane design, it uses buckling springs over a membrane pad, so it can't do too many inputs at once sadly

I loved the model M I was using, but I can't use it for games like Warframe where I have to press ctrl+shift+W+A/D+SPACE at the same time, I think it's still in my closet though, I would actually not go for Cherry blues, I would actually recomend the Kailh box jades right now, I got to try them out last night

Emanbaird reacted to Zusafek in Can a semi truck support a desktop computer?
As a truck driver I can say that you will drain your batteries pretty quick on the truck. My laptop can be on gaming and working on battery from the truck for about 7 hours before it goes into low power mode to protect the truck batteries. And that's a laptop pulling 170 watts only.

    Those boards are called 65%
Some good ones are the Leopold Fc660m, Input club White fox
Higher-end options for 65% would be the KBDFans KBD67 Mkii Hotswap, Tofu 65% hotswap, Massdrop Alt and the Rama works Koyu.
If you're fine with soldering there are plenty of very nice keyboards, like the Singa x TGR Unikorn, Keycult No.1 65, Ramaworks M65-a, TGR 910 etc.

iCUE does everything now, I think it has Link built in if you want everything to work like one big RGB strip, or you set them individually like normal. It can be buggy sometimes if you have say, an Asus board with AURA RGB and then Corsair RGB RAM, the two will fight over who controls the RAM. Aside from that it's pretty decent.

Down a rabbit hole we go then. Like how I mentioned Event Viewer as soon as the system finishes rebooting after a reset you'd want to go to:
Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> System and look for the latest events marked with a white/red ! just prior to the restart. These would be the errors that occurred. Sometimes they're easy to read/understand sometime not.
