  1. Hey guys. I am currently using an i5 4690k and have just had an i7 4790k arrive. Am I okay to just swap out the cpu on my msi z97 pc mate? As they're identical sockets. Many thanks Gannicius
  2. There is no OS, I just wanna get to the bios first, which should be possible with the gpu shouldn't it? Unless it's defective.
  3. Afraid not, if it had I wouldn't have used the GPU in the first place. I'm going to try my R9 280x to check. However the fan spins on the gpu
  4. I did this and got constant beeping. Still no display though. Thanks,
  5. Right, after reseating EVERYTHING. I can get it to post, just not display... RIP
  6. The only reused parts are the mobo, cpu and psu, everything else is brand new The psu works, I tested it on an earlier rig.
  7. I have an AMD FX 6300, a GA 970A DS3P, CX 600, 4GB HyperX Fury RAM, WD blue 1TB, I can't get it to display using hdmi or dvi. The mobo and CPU were fine about a month ago but have been in storage since. I have tried multiple slots, and disconnecting the HDD and disk drive but no luck. Any help would be much appreciated
  8. That is a bit too cheap tbh, but thanks! I will definitely keep that in mind after Christmas when I decide to go for a 2 in 1 for my university stuff
  9. Hi guys, My girlfriend is after buying a 2 in 1. She was thinking about the Microsoft Surface 3 with a type cover bundle, but at £460, I have assured here there is more cost effective alternatives. So I decided to ask you guys. as I'm not great with portable electronics and stick mainly to desktops, so I don't feel confident providing the best alternative. Could you guys suggest an alternative? Preferably something closer to £300, but that's not required. Any help would be much appreciated Many thanks, Gannicius tl/dr; Looking for a decent 2 in 1 for about £300
  10. I have already done this, I'm not technologically illiterate :')
  11. I've already done this. And for the earlier reply, I can't get my mobo to use my gpu as the dedicated vga
  12. With Fallout 4 on the verge of launch, I decided to upgrade my pc for better performance,so I installed a new msi z97 pcmate and an i5 4690k. However after this I can only use the integrated graphics on my machine and that requires the gpu to be uninstalled. I have tried repeating etc... The card definitely works as ive checked it. Any help would be much appreciated Many thanks
  13. I've clean installed all drivers 4 times, and reinstalled windows with drive formatting twice.
  14. Still no increase in performance, I suppose I'm just going to have to wait for AMD to fix this in their drivers
  15. None as of yet, any specific suggestions? I'm finding a lot of vague stuff
  16. I was playing a game to get my most recent loads... I will try Win10 optimisations rn
  17. CPU doesn't exceed ~70%, GPU literally didn't got past 50%
  18. Hey guys, after formatting my SSD+HDD and reinstalling Win10, I now have considerably less frames than previously. I have installed the latest drivers and done multiple scans. I have gone from having 200+ FPS to having ~90FPS. This causes 1 metric F-tonne of tearing and eye strain when playing games. I have monitored temps and nothing out of the ordinary occurs (CPU=57 Celsius, GPU= 70 Celsius). I have turned off Xbox DVR and been through all the regular tips for boosting FPS. I have tried both stable and beta drivers to no avail. Many Thanks My system is as follows CPU: AMD FX6300 MOBO: GA 970-DS3P GPU: MSI R9 290x RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Low Profile PSU: Corsair CX600 Primary: Drive: 256GB SSD with games & OS installed Monitor: ASUS VG248QE
  19. Hey guys I recently went to play a game of CS:GO, I noticed massive frame drops from 200+ to ~40. After leaving the game, I uninstalled any recently installed programs (Win10 crap) and tried again in an offline server, the problem persisted, but after noticing it is only caused when mouse movement occurs. I reinstalled my driver and tested if this was directly related to CS, or if it occurred throughout. It does; whenever mouse movement occurs my CPU usage throttles to 90% load with the open program(s) usage increasing. The phenomenon initially occurred after downloading a game recommenced by PCGamer, some daft 70mb thing, which I deleted as soon as I thought it might have been the culprit but nothing. After watching my resource monitor/task manager when recreating phenomenon, I have identified that it isn't a single program that throttles the CPU usage, but collectively all running tasks increasing their load, by about double. I have tried reinstalling mouse drivers/software, as well as using the mouse as a generic usb pointer, which neither worked, I have tried reinstalling AMD video drivers which also didn't work. And after Windows Defender had 3 hours to scan, it got rid of some adware/trojan and that hasn't had any effect. Mouse: Logitech G402 (in case relevant) Mobo: GA 970-DS3P CPU: AMD FX 6300 3.5GHz Ram: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1666Hz GPU: MSI R9 280x Any help would be much appreciated Gannicius

  21. Can anyone recommend a good 9H rated and preferably oleophobic screen protector for the Z3 Compact in the UK? I've been looking and can't find anything with reliable reviews or from a trustworthy website. Any help would be much appreciated Many Thanks, Gannicius
  22. I was wondering if anyone could assist me with these 2 mobo's? I am trying to decide if the £50 more price tag is worth it? It's for my friend, and he doesn't want to SLI when he get's his new system, so that's not an issue. 23. Hello guys, firstly I wasn't sure where to put this, but this seems the most fitting place. Secondly; My current chair has failed on me, the height adjustment has broken, meaning it can no longer be set to the correct height and will mean it is too small for me to comfortably reach my desk! I was hoping that some of you may be able to reccomend some sub £100 chairs, preferably with a blue or white trim style, height adjustment is a necessity. As with Christmas being around the corner and me having to buy for everyone I can't really afford to fork out for something from AKRACING or MAXOMIC ATM, I'll probably keep the replacement until it dies then pay a more hefty price for one. Many thanks Gannicius
