  1. Should I choose the EVGA superclock GTX 970 or MSI Twin Frozr?
  2. Hey, guys. I've been procrastinating for a while now, but I've finally finished my first build. As the title says, I've limited my budget to £600, and I was wondering if the forum wizards could let me know if this is a good build, aha! As you'll be able to see, I've allocated nearly half the budget towards a GTX 970. Is this a good idea? Worth sacrificing on other parts for? I've been hearing poor things of the power supply brand. I was also wondering if the 8320 would be a bottleneck? I'll be using this for gaming primarily, but also school work and general web browsing / media consumption. Thanks in advance! 3. Aww, shoot! Deal's gone My own fault for taking so long, aha. Regardless, thank you to everyone for the help. I suppose I'll keep looking over the course of the day. If anyone does know of any good Cyber Monday Graphics Card deals in the UK, please let me know. Thanks
  4. In a Cyber Monday deal, I've found an 'XFX Double Dissipation R9-290A-EDFD Radeon R9 290 4GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card'. Is this worth a purchase for £152? I've got enough money for a £600 build and was originally gonna use a GTX 760 or R9 270x. Not too sure if XFX is a good brand, and I've heard people complaining that it's very big so I worry a little if my original pick for a case, the FD R2 Mini, would be alright. Thanks in advance for any help offered.
  5. Hey, I'm looking to pick up a decent gaming keyboard for my new setup. Unfortunately, having overspent on my PC, I am left with only about £30 as my budget. Maybe up to £40 if it's justified though the lower, the better. Thanks in advance to all those who contribute.
  6. I was gonna pull the trigger and order my parts tonight, but I've decided to run it by the forum gurus first, aha. I was hoping you kind folk could let me know what you think of the build, and how I could improve it. In terms of "use cases" for reference on if it's a good fit, this should be used primarily for gaming as well as some basic school work and video streaming. Some of the games I'll be playing include CS GO, Just Cause 2, Far Cry 3 and Battlefield 4. I'll also be playing some more "basic" games too like Rogue Legacy and Binding of Isaac. I doubt those are of importance, though mentioned it just in case. Of course, I don't want to spend too much more than I already have in terms of budget. I've already gone over my original goal. Thanks in advance to all those who help. Can't wait to see you guys' input. My Build ---> http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/NuttyAvocado/saved/rd26Mp

  8. Hey, guys. So, I should be putting together my first build in a week or so but, somewhat last minute, I've started to think about my fans. As you should've put together from the title, my case is the 350D and I'm left a little unsure whether I should upgrade my fans or use the stock ones. This mostly comes down to how audible the stock ones are and, if they are relatively loud, then what should I get instead as a replacement? I'm perfectly aware there is more to fans than how loud they are so I've left a link to my planned build as well for insight in what kind of performance is needed, if that makes any sense. Though, as I've stressed, noise is my biggest priority. My build -----> http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/NuttyAvocado/saved/rd26Mp Thanks (Also, how quiet is the Hyper 212 evo? Or, at least, how quiet can it be, while still remaining functioning?)
  9. Hey guys! So, my friend's on the market for a new gaming PC and has asked me for help. He's only got £450 for a budget and I was hoping you nice folk could help me put together a part list for him. I've had some great experiences with this community before, and hopefully you guys can make sure we get the best bang for the buck! I know one of the main questions people will ask, will most likely be "What's it going to be used for?". Unfortunately, my friend's been a little vague in this regard and so I don't have a whole lot to say. With that said, from the little that he has said, it would seem this machine's main intention would be gaming. As for the games that'll be played, it should vary quite a lot in intensiveness from TF2, CS GO and GMOD to Borderlands 2, BF3 and BO2. Thanks in advance for all the help.
  10. Thanks! What kind of performance difference would I expect between this and the 270x? In terms of frame rate, how would it differ in games like FC3, BF4 etc?
  11. Sorry, I'll be using it for gaming on high (or ultra, when I can get away with it) and other basic, menial tasks like web browsing and other media consumption. Games include FC3, BO2, BF4 & others similar.
  12. Hey! I'm building my first PC but, before ordering the parts, I thought I would run it by the forum to see what people think. I'm a bit of a noob, so any help and input is highly appreciated. Linked below is my PC Part Picker list of all components I'm using. You'll see there is no hard drive, but that is because I already have one - a WD 1TB Caviar Blue. Thanks in advance.
