  1. O my bad i totally forgot to list it in my topic post, I'll update it but it's the ASRock Taichi X370 board
  2. Welp I just tried both sticks in all 4 slots, none of them posted, Does this basically confirm my fear that the board and RAM aren't compatible?
  3. It's already on 1 stick, i guess i can try different slots with the other stick As far as i can tell a lot of the error codes seems to point at a memory problem. But i don't have other kits of ddr4 ram on me.
  4. Hardware: Ryzen 1700X ASRock Taichi X370 motherboard Corsair Vengeance LED 3200Mhz 16Gb (2x8) (I have only 1 stick plugged into the A2 slot) Geforce 8800GTS eVGA supernova 1050GS So just got the cpu/motherboard/ram combo. I did the smart thing and am running it outside before I actually install everything. However the system does not seem to be posting as it's cycling on these error codes, I'm just upgrading to ddr4 so I don't have another set of ram to test with. Afaik on the first boot the ram shouldn't be running on 3200mhz just yet, furthermore I have seen online people successfully running ryzen with the corsair vengeance led kits. Is it my RAM or is there something I'm missing. Video of the cycling https://youtu.be/BxTgeA_C0qs
  5. Hey guys, long time watcher but not an active poster but I really hope you guys see this request. I just watched this week's wan show and Luke mentioned local machine steam in home streaming. I would REALLY like to see a video of this because just like Luke I'm very tired of Windows 10. I can probably figure this out myself but that would require some tinkering to know if it'll work for my specific needs and well, I'm lazy and I think it would be a very cool video :P. Plz plz, if you could make a video of using linux to game over a VM running windows.
  6. I'm not adding any more chemicals, I'm just adding more distilled water to a concentrate and I'm just worried it might reduce the effectiveness of the biocide and anti corrosive Edit: ... Wait "reads didn't dye it" Dammit, i fell for the troll.
  7. Does diluting it more not make the biocide/anti corrosive less effective? That is the major thing I'm worried about after seeing Linus's whole room water cooling project start growing mold in their loop I'm pretty paranoid.
  8. I'm making my first water cooling loop and did a ton of research so I think I'm fine for parts. I also got the EKoolant Evo clear which you're suppose to mix with 900ml of distilled water which I also have. Before all of this I thought "Ya 1L should be enough to fill all my parts" but I just did a bit of calculations. By my estimations I'm about 100ml short of toping up my reservoir, which would be it's about half full. Do you think I can add 1L to the concentrate instead of the 900ml so that I have a full reservoir?
  9. So massdrop currently have a drop for a massdrop version of the AKG K702 going for $199.99 https://www.massdrop.com/buy/akg-k7xx-massdrop-first-edition-headphones Now I've been wanting a open back headphone for a while now since I only have a pair of ath.m50x, and since I loved them so much I thought their AD900X should also be pretty nice. My question is which one should I get, I know sound is subjective so I'll state that I really like my Ath-m50's sound signature. The flatness of it along with its more pronounced bass than other headphones really appeal to me.
  10. Ya I tried that, my other 320kbps sound fine, sigh I really liked that album too but from what I can tell from other rips of the CD, the CD itself just has bad recording and its not any ripper's fault. ok thanks for the help
  11. Disclaimer: I'm not a full blown audiophile yet (I only have a pair of Ath-m50x and running edifier s330d for my speakers) but i do care about how my music sounds to an extent. Recently I downloaded a flac file and I can hear VERY noticeable popping at 1 point in the song, I both played it with my speakers and with plugging in my headphones into my pc. Both gave me popping at the same part so then I ran a spectrogram of it with Spek and got this from what I can tell, there doesn't seem to be much problems with it and now I'm suspecting either the source itself is bad or I need a better DAC. Do you guys have any ideas? Is it even allowed for me to link to the flac file so that you guys can see if I'm crazy?
  12. As much as I appreciate your attempt at trying to make everything as consistent as possible, I do feel like your approach of simulation has definite drawbacks.I realize you guys wanted to take away the possibilities of DDR4 vs DDR3 and different motherboard for X99 and X97 but you forgot something pretty important, the cache. And during an age where physics is being pushed to its limits every little thing on a cpu can matter. Yes everything in the Haswell family at the moment is using the same instruction set but with 20MB cache on the 5960x vs 8MB on the 4970k you never did anything to address this difference. Having that much more cache allows more space to use in the cpu's branch prediction tables and more space in its translation look aside buffers. That is the major concern I have about your testing methodology. There can be other gripes like how the different die sizes probably generates more timing issues between register stages, but most of the time those don't affect real world too much. Don't take this the wrong way, the point of the video I know was to show how much of a monster the X99 chipset is at multi tasking, but I just wanted to point this out just so maybe you can address it in the video saying "Ya this is the best we could do"
  13. Holy crap the second one is like exactly what I wanted, thanks a ton!!!
  14. Quick look at phantek's site has this on the luxe's spec sheet, I'm going to guess that uATX means micro ATX so you should be fine Motherboard Support ATX, EATX, uATX, SSI EEB
  15. I don't expect to ever find one but decided to ask here just to see if someone out there has seen this, I want a gaming grade mechanical keyboard WITH led backlit functionality but with cherry mx white switches. I know that the most common types are cherry mx blue and reds but hear me out, my coworker actually bought a cherry mx test thing it was just a piece of metal with EVERY single type of cherry mx switch soldered on it so i got to try every single type of switch and fell in love with white the second i used it. Ever since then (about 4 months now) I have looked for a blingtastic cherry mx white keyboard but have turned up nothing. All the ducky keyboards that use cherry mx white are not led and are pretty much bland in every aspect and every gaming keyboard thats pretty bling and led backlit use the "common" switches which are blue/green/red/brown. So I ask you linus tech tip forum, does my magical unicorn of a keyboard exist or do I actually have to bite the bullet and buy a cherry mx red keyboard, buy my own cherry mx white switches and re solder all of the switches to the keyboard?
