  1. Hello Over the past year I have slowly grabbed a few new computer parts for when I switch from an AMD Platform to an Intel platform. I have a 1TB WD Blue, i7-4790K, and Fractal Define R4 sitting in my closet waiting to be used. I have decided that I would be willing to sell my current AMD computer to get the money to buy what I need for the upgrade. I have made a PCPartPicker list of my computer. Everything is matched with the model number of the components so what the list shows is exactly what I have. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Z9GJdC Some parts aren't even for sale anymore, but nevertheless I think it's still worth something. I never have any issues with the computer, except for the occasional AMD Graphics crash... It's speed is still amazing and gets a pretty good FPS on the games I play(Battlefield 4 - 90-120FPS on High, Warframe - 50+FPS on High, TombRaider - 50+FPS on Med/High, Dirt 3 - 60+FPS). The 60GB drive is almost 4 years old, 120GB drive 2-3 years old, 160GB HDD drive is well.. idk probably more than 7 years old And the 80GB drive is like 2 years old. 60GB SSD - 98% Healthy 120GB SSD - 100% Healthy 80GB SSD - 100% Healthy So if I were to sell this computer, what would be a reasonable price to ask for it? I understand that the age of a computer tends to lower the price point but the condition it's in for being it's age is great. Thanks HeyAwesomePeople
  2. How would I check if garbage collection is on/off? And the drives have not been under much stress. They've been on continuously for 3.5 years but I have not written much to them.
  3. All ports on my motherboard are Sata 3, 6GB/s(Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 Motherboard) And the SSDs are all Sata 3.
  4. Hello! About 4 years ago I build my PC and bought a Corsair Force 3(60GB) to go with it. This was back when a 60GB SSD costed $80.. Now recently I have just learned my drives were using IDE/ATA in the BIOS, thus why when running ATTO I had no write speeds over 220MB/s. Now that I have switched it over to AHCI, I am getting some impressive read speeds, but the write speeds have only a 25-100MB difference. ATTO: http://prntscr.com/43pc95 AS SSD: http://prntscr.com/43pg5h HD Tune Free 2.55: http://prntscr.com/43pgk2 The HD tune is what surprises me the most. I feel like the meter is fluctuating more an HDD would be. I've looked up the specs for the Force 3 and found it should be getting 510MB/s write. As you can tell in the pictures, I am getting nowhere near that. Could it be because of age? Or might there be something else going on? The drive was used for probably a good 6 months before I upgraded to a 120GB Intel SSD for my main drive. It was being used for storage but recently has been cleaned. It's 98% free and no processes were running on it when I ran the tests. Here are the results on the rest of my drives: INTEL SSDSC2CT120A3: - Runs Windows 7 and most programs on the computer http://prntscr.com/43pn0u My gosh, those read speeds! I don't even think that's possible on a SATA 3 port... Anyways, the read should be closer to 500MB and write should be near 400MB. HDD(160gb): - Runs basically only AMD drivers.. http://prntscr.com/43ppf9 http://prntscr.com/43pqy4 Notice how the HDD fluctuates less then the SSD... Thanks, Bryan T.
  5. Iv'e never been a big fan of gaming on a notebook, but Asus is really trying to get me to try it when I found out about this notebook. The battery time is on the low side, but I guess that's to be expected from a gaming notebook
  6. Hello guys. I have recently run into some trouble with my router. It is about 1 year old and we spend some money on it. Keep in mind that my computer is connecting to this router with it's matching wireless adapter, the A6200. Now I noticed just last night that I was getting some rubberbanding and glitchyness in BF4. I was spiking over 300ping when usually I am lower than 90. I went to speedtest.net and ran a test, with the results being ABOUT this(I don't remember exactly) Download: <20Mbps Upload: <15Mbps (I love how upload is nearly unaffected with this issue) I saw this and ran the "tracert" command in the cmd to see that the connection between my router and my computer was taking over 100ms to connect. So, for the first time I had to reset my router. After, I tried to play my game again with no luck. The ping was a little better, but still horrible. The traceroute showed high values between hops(200ms+ for most of them), but the hop from my computer to the router was <10ms. I gave up that night, and went to bed. The next day I tried it again. Same issue. This time, I just grabbed my handy dandy CAT5-6 cable(dunno which one) and directly connected from COX MODEM to COMPUTER. This helped, and it was back to normal. The traceroute pings never went over 30ms. I have the cox plan that is 150 down, and 20 up. I was getting this on hardwire: Download: 125Mbps Upload: 20Mbps And thus, I ruled out an issue with COX. The first thing I did was reset it again, didn't help. I then updated the firmware. Helped, but still getting some values in the traceroute at over 300ms. Despite the traceroute, speedtest was telling me I was getting this: Download: 54Mbps Upload: 12MBps Okay cool, little bit higher. Then I went messing with my router settings. I double checked I was on the AC band(which I was) and then updated the firmware. No help. I then went into the wireless settings to change the 5GHz SSID. It was automatically set at 153, so I bumped it up to 157. This actually did help a little, but not much. The traceroute was now showing no pings above 210ms, but that is still fairly high... I have used netgear most of my computer using life, and noticed that the routers I have, seem to go bad within 2 years. Apparently this one wanted to piss me off sooner. It's my first time using an AC router, and it was great for gaming, until now. Right now I am working on messing with the SSID to see if that may be the problem(maybe some interference?). Thanks guys. Hope I can figure this out soon. NOTE: I cannot use the type of internet that goes through my powerline, because the way the circuits are in the house, the one from the Router to my room is different, an results in terrible speed.
