I have the one plus one, and since I updated to CM12 I had nothing but issues. Dialer not working, names and numbers not being linked up, screen lock's and no power off's/resets. I know yours is a different phone, so not read up on Fixes for the phone model., but going on what issues I have I wouldn't rush into it you ain't missing nothing.

Koffehh got a reaction from jkraghify in Switching to Verizon right now. Help me find a phone?
I have the one plus one, Imo the phone is great, especially for its price. It rendered my Samsung tablet 10.1 useless making it looked like something 5+ years older. The OPO for me personally has had no glitches till CM12 OS came along. I did have some issues with calls not working and names being lost with numbers in the dialler. But that all got resolved when I went back with the main CM12 theme. Never had a double tap to wake in my pocket, although i have had warm thighs from the torch being turned on with the "V" short cut.
As for battery life when, I'm at home in England a charge will do me 2 days, in Europe I get about a day for some reason.
The only negative thing I can say about the one plus one is its really big, to navigate with one hand is poor, and I would say I have average sized hands too. Also pocket space, bend down too quick in your jeans and you'll be looking at some groin/hip pain.
After having it for 8 months with no cover and no screen protector, it still looks like it came out of the box.
I can't compare it to other newish phones as I have never owned them, but besides its one negative I personally think I made the right decision.....
Oh and it raises eyebrows when every one has a mundane S5/6 or iPhone 5/6 down the OK boozer.
On another note I want longevity with a phone too, but 3 years? Personal experience tells me stay away from Samsung products then, from a former S3 and S3 mini user.

Koffehh got a reaction from Thony in GBP to Euro best place for money exchange ?
Personally I never take all cash out on holidays with me as these days, as I had a bad experience 10 years ago where I was robbed of all my cash spoiling the last 5 days of my holiday. Saying that I have used the post office in the past for exchanging cash, and had no issues with them.
Don't use the airport...... As said unless u wanna get a bad exchange rate or pay lots in taxes.
I would recommended one of these 2 credit cards to take cash out abroad. These don't charge you the exchange rates and don't charge you fees for taking out cash. Great if u have funds in your current account and you internet bank so you can transfer funds across as soon as possile after the cas withdrawal to reduce the interest on the money taken out on the credit card.
    Card 1. http://www.halifax.co.uk/creditcards/Landing/clarity-card-all/?so=MSE_Halifax_Table_Clarity
Card 2. (If your credit history isn't great). http://www.aquacard.co.uk/MSMreward5
There are some pre paid credit cards out there too but they work out to be poorer deals. But there worth having a look too depending on Your situation.
DO NOTE: The above cards are based on people taking out cash abroad on them, so if you have an average credit card there is A very good chance you will get charged heavy withdrawal fees, poor exchange rates and pay anything above 35% on the money taken out.

1 Ghetto way of doing something like that is to let her type it in to Google Translate and let Google do the speaking.
But tbh I don't think your idea is that difficult to implement for Android. The simple reason probably is that no one thought that such application could be usefull.

    I suggest:
    - Posting a request for such an application on the programming sub-forum on LTT. Maybe one could make such an application in a couple of days.
    - Maybe getting into Android development and building such app yourself. There are lots of great tutorials online on how to do coding.
My favourite would be from www.youtube.com/thenewboston

I myself could probably write such an application in a couple of weeks for a pc, but the problem is time.
I find it really great you take such good care of your daughter. +1

If android applications could be written purely in Python, I'd happily work on it, but as it is my skills in programming aren't exactly there. I don't know of any applications like this but it's certainly a very good idea. Good on you for taking care of her like this, that's awesome!

    1. I got the mobo really cheap, also I wasn't sure how the cpu was going to perform so I could upgrade if needed. 2. I needed the PC for LR, PS, browsing, spread sheets and light gaming like LOL, so I didn't need a GPU.

Koffehh got a reaction from Chillstice in Photography - where to begin?
Photography is something you learn over time. Getting a budget DSLR like the Nikon 3100/3200 with a 18-55mm is a great staring point. As already said get out of the auto mode and is manual settings.
As where to learn, monthly magazines are great but I would say don't buy any more than 6 months worth as they start to cover what was published 6 months ago. Also digital photography review forums are great, as well as the website for tips and tricks. There is also another website can't remember the name off hand which is also very useful, if you sign up to there news letter they give you monthly challenges..... I'll look this up when I get home.
Good luck with this, also note its an expensive hobby to get into. Cost of lenses, the camera a decent workstation PC to edit on, editing software and accessories like tripods and a printer and other stuff.

I would say getting an ssd would get you far better performance over ram for a little more money then ram, but that's if you can afford x amount more.

Koffehh got a reaction from Techteen14 in Is the OnePlus One a good idea?
I did exactly this in November, best decision I made on getting a phone for years. 1. As the phone is powerful, has a great camera and browses the internet so fast, its made my tablet redundant.
    2. The phone cost me £280 with delivery and sim only contract of £13 a month. Total cost works out over 2 years, £24.60 a month if the phone lasts that long. A phone with similar specs to the one plus one, on a decent tariff would have cost me minimum £40. Saving me £14 a month in 2 years I'll use that saving of £320 and grab me a new phone again that's not sim locked in with a provider.
