Zagnip's Achievements

  1. My gift would be two 750ti SCs for my 2 friends, who I think would like to get into PC gaming, but they can't even run CS:GO at 60fps -___-. Should be fun though, they know nothing about computer hardware so I will have to give them a crash course on how to install a graphics card, and drivers. http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-750Ti-GDDR5-Graphics/dp/B00IDG3IDO x2 ($140 ea.)
  2. I just want to "hopefully" get by with what ever I buy for the next 4-5 years, and I know games are getting up there with vram usage
  3. I mean, honestly I could just wait for the next set of cards, (it will be a little bit before I get the money anyway.) Just don't know when the cards will be released. I mean if they are coming sometime like early Q1 2016 then I might as well wait. (would like to save some cash for Oculus Rift when it releases in Q1 anyway)
  4. CPU Intel i5 4670k Motherboard Z97 Asus Sabertooth Mk.1 GPU Nvidia GTX 780 Display(s) Asus PB278Q 1440p Now, the thing is I wanna do something about my GPU power I'll be getting around $1,000 for upgrading soon, but I would like to use some of that for other upgrades. I would like to be able to play most modern AAA titles Maxed out in 1440p above 60fps (the single 780 just isn't cutting it) also keep in mind I use low to no AA in most games because at my res/distance it doesn't effect much. Now the real question is, what should I do... I could get another 780 and run SLI (although I'm not sure how long I will be able to get by with 3gb vram) I could upgrade to a single 980 for now (still need to see how much vram games are using in 1440p) (also would be able to sell my 780 although, not sure how much I will get for it with no box lol) I could upgrade to a 980ti (the 6gb of vram looks kinda tasty for "futureproofing" lol) and ofc I could sli either of the two latter options in the future. (the 980 would be a bit better for budget.. the 4gb vram is only thing making me iffy about doing it)
  5. It's like the 2 cores are going all "lady and the tramp" on a noodle thread.
  6. wouldn't that be hyper-threading? this is more like 2 mouths trying to eat.... oh god, can we use another analogy >.>
  7. Really you could just get a decent z87/z97 board and a i5 4690k and OC that bad boy to 4.6~ ghz and be set. even save money not getting an i7 which, is honestly not even needed for gaming.
  8. you can get it on amazon for 230~ they have free shipping right... but yea it will probably take quite some time to arrive...
  9. that sucks, I can find it online for under 200 atm
  10. guess people will just have to optimize their programs/games better then anyway.
  11. I agree with this because of overclocking potential, but if you can't then 4460
  12. I was sitting back and thinking about the large amount of cores they are stuffing into CPUs these days, and how most games are not very highly threaded. Anyway, does anyone know if it would be physically possible for a CPU manufacturer to assign multiple CORES to a single thread? (basically idle cores could help the active ones with processing) If so this could give major performance in many lightly threaded applications.
