Should I maybe Transfer everything off of it to my 2TB and try reformatting it in the external case? Then put it back into my PC? I'm not sure i'm just throwing ideas out there...

Hey everybody! Okay so I have finished my build and everything went really smooth! Until today I wanted to install a second Green 1TB HDD which was in an external case and I bought it about 2 years ago. Now i've plugged the power and the SATA in and the SATA into the motherboard. and nothing. I can feel that the HDD is receiving power but when I go into the BIOS screen on start up the motherboard is not reading it, it says the SATA port is EMPTY, my 2TB Black HDD and 250gb SSD is being read fine.Device manager screen isn't reading it either. Now I am pretty confident I have everything plugged in right considering it's exactly the same as the 2TB. Can anyone find where I have gone wrong? I can post pics if that help?? i'm so confused!! Maybe I should just go buy a new one and leave this one as an external? Thanks guys!

So it was working. then the mouse decides not to move the curser after I install the driver. Obviously then it's the driver right? well i've tried previous versions of the drivers and it's still not working. the buttons and scroll works, but it doesn't move the curser!!! please if anyone can help I would very much appreciate it!!! thanks guys!

Thank you everyone for your advise. I will change some things up. As for the case correct me if i'm wrong I think that's more of a personal choice for asthetics and looks. I understand its gloss and it will collect dust like a ... well it's early I can't think of an analogy. Unless there is something seriously wrong with this particular case or it isn't compatible with any of the parts I have I really like the case. I will change it down to 16gb of RAM and add more later when I decide to get into editing. I will also go a fully modular power supply, i found one that matching my colour scheme. :lol: which is obviously really important. I will definitely post pictures of the finished product Thank's again for your time especially to those who did a build for me on other websites. For the time being it is going to be used as a gaming PC on the highest settings I can put latest games. But I would love to get into photo and video editing in the future, however I will need to save up again for the 4K monitor to make that worth my time. The next save is the 60" T.V in the lounge room mounted on the wall with 7.2 surround to watch my newly bought Blu Ray Battle Star Gallactica complete box set... BUT that's another discussion i'm afraid :lol: I agree.

Yeah I'm a sucker for asthetics. Has to look good. Also have a touch of OCD. But lets be honest... who here doesn't? am I right!!! haha Thank's Vadar, even though my Jedi Shadow will probably not agree with you :lol: I appreciate you're advice and will take it under advisement!! especially the PSU Also the HDD is Black, I guess that's why it's pricey. I already have a 1TB 3.5" HDD that's in an external case ATM that will be going into the new computer so in total I will have 3TB

Hey everyone, I'm building my first computer in 4 weeks and I have been trying to put in a lot of research and hours in studying different options and trying to figure things out myself. Then when I have had a go myself I would post on this forum seeing what people think. Any suggestions will be most welcome and my budget is around 3,250. I also realise the monitor is not in this list but that's because I am getting it from a different store. I hope a link is okay, if not I can post the components separately in a list if that suits.
