Samson123 got a reaction from TDP_Equinox in HUGE PROBLEM :( :( :(
yea seriously we really dont mind helping you on here but when you get pissed off at us because WE cant fix YOUR problem, it makes us not even want to try.
anywho listen unplug everything take out your ram take out your gpu unplug your psu. replug in everything. if that doesnt fix it make sure you have the correct drivers installed. just because a driver is installed doesnt mean its the right one. and last but not least. if you have another computer laying around maybe try putting the graphics card into that other computer and see what it does even if its an old piece of shit if your graphics card works maybe its the pci slot on the mobo.

Samson123 reacted to -rascal- in Titan X tdp?
If you are asking about TDP then the GTX Titan X is not for you...
If you are willing to spend....oh $1200+ on a single graphics card, power and money should NOT be a limitation.
EDIT:
You're running a Alienware PC....currently with a GTX 745 4GB OEM.
Will the Titan X even fit in your computer case?
The X51 R2 doesn't use standard ATX power supplies.

Samson123 reacted to wyattzx in If you could change ONE thing in your life, what would it be?
"I wish" got nothing done. "Maybe one day.." is I wish's heroin. Don't tell yourself you wish you could do something. Just do it. You don't need motivation. You either do it, or you don't do it.

Samson123 reacted to Cedz700 in New Desk Project
Hi guys,
So this is my first post and all great things start with a simple step and I thought that Linus's tech forums is a great place to start.
I have recently indulged myself in a new project that I am tackling and it is something that is a bit out of the norm.
I am going to build an EXTREME desk gaming and multimedia system from scratch. From procuring the materials for a desk, all the way to the last bit of water and kill coil entering the system... and of course, we will need benchmarks and overclocking as well, to see how the system performs. B)
This is just an introduction and I just wanted to get a feeling if the people in this forum would be interested in seeing this?
I got a feeling it will be a world craze.
P.S. The picture is not my desk, but rather what I am heading towards.

Samson123 reacted to Nup in If Intel weren't a monopoly, would Hyper-Threading be considered junk?
You make an interesting point. Now i don't know a whole lot about hyper-threading so I may not be too qualified to answer this.
But if you look at the hardcore tech enthusiast community it's clear they they don't mess around with poor products. If something isn't worth getting, they wont get it.
Well that's my take on it, so maybe there is an element of truth to what your saying, which most likely has something to do with the case. I do think that 100 dollars is a little much for this.
Also, welcome to the forums, nice to have you here

Samson123 reacted to KC_Toronto in If Intel weren't a monopoly, would Hyper-Threading be considered junk?
So,
Hyper-Threading is difficult to explain, difficult to quantify, difficult to optimize software for, and yet has a definite $100 price tag attached to it. ( i5 to i7 )
The performance boost ranges from negative to +45% and cannot be predicted.
I was a Director of Sales in the past, and if I were in charge of a sales campaign to train regional sales reps on selling Hyper-Threading to consumers, I would be bombarded with questions by these sales reps and without concrete answers available.
We all take for granted that we pay extra for Hyper-Threading merely because we are cornered into it.

Samson123 reacted to 79wjd in Which GTX 970 to watercool
They released a waterblock for the g1 gaming.
Id probably go EVGA since the warranty is still applicable even after removing the cooler (I don't believe the same is true for gigabyte).

Samson123 reacted to Faceman in Kraken g10 setup
First off, don't power more than 1 fan off of the GPU's fan header. You will burn out the GPU's fan header, it has happened to many people on the G10 Owner's Club. If you want, you can use a splitter on a motherboard fan header, but not on your GPU.
Plug your pump into your PSU through molex. You want your pump to be running at full speed, so no need to control it.
Plug the G10's 92mm fan into the GPU through the VGA to PWM Adapter. This is the only fan you should have plugged in. Control this through MSI Afterburner. Don't use a fan curve, set it to a constant 80-100% fan speed.
Plug the 120mm fan from your AIO into your motherboard and control it from there.

Samson123 reacted to nillas12 in Experiences with non-techies
Thought it would be fun to make a topic about, all of our experiences with all the people, who doesn't really understand all the tech.
Note: Don't make this too harsh on them. You need to help them, not yell at them.
I'll go first:
So my mom has a daycare. And one day I am sitting on the floor with my laptop. And one of the kids, with real dirty hands come and put his hand on the screen. Guess he thought it was a touch screen. Still haven't gotten it off, and it was 3 months ago.
My grandmother is scared of getting rid of the computer, because she thinks it will cut the power to her house.

Samson123 reacted to himie in 5820K X99 Ultimate Overclocking Guide
Ah I see, thanks for clarifying. I'm planning on building my first pc soon probably next year so don't want to overlook small details like this. Like you said in the video lower bclk and not so crazy ram speeds are better. But again, this is an extreme build probably won't have this issue on Z97 or whatever the consumer platform is next year.
Yes! Definitively love the 1080p60 better than 4k.
