  1. I have always had a great success rate with corsair products but now I'm confused. Last night i did a build with a H60 and a NF-F12 as the fan and when I ititally booted up the system I had a weird whine from the cpu block I tapped it and it went away. Everything seemed okay until I opened up real temp to check my temps. Idle was 50-60 sometimes it drops to 40 but under regular use like browsing the Internet its between 50-60 and full load with small fft on prime95 yeilded 90+ degrees in less then 5 mins so I cut the test. I don't know what my problem is I feel like it has a faulty pump. Any input would be great The bottom rad is for the GPU top rad is for the CPU in the picture.
  2. Love Linus. Been watching for 3 years. Still miss the old ncix unboxings though. It's just something about the unformalness
  3. non modular? are you high?
  4. you can fit like any water cooler besides the dual 140 mm rads
  5. that power supply wont fit i know from first hand experience unless you ghetto it with motherboard standoffs... you need the CX series
  6. http://benchmarkreviews.com/6639/bitfenix-phenom-pc-case-debuts/
  7. this appears to be all metal.. i like the ascetics more compared to the Prodigy your guys thoughts? http://www.hardwareheaven.com/news.php?newsid=6046
  8. dude i've done so much with IDE and im like this is dead for the most part and SCSI omg
  9. yes i understand but im saying that its not a real core as he describes it
  10. yes but he is saying that within a a core is 2 cores.... hyperthreading doesnt work that way
  11. no they arent logical they are theoretical.... completely different
  12. So guys I have a problem. I'm in a I.T. Course at one of my local technical colleges and the professor I have just doesn't know. He gives out false information all the time. Like one day when I corrected him in class and had an argument it was about sata 6 gb per second. He said that mechanical hard drives should be plugged into it or they won't operate to their full potential. I was just like no. Sata 2 doesn't hit the theoretical throughput of what a mechanical hard drive can supply so why use sata 3? He just argued and argued. Today he told a student I shit you not "hyper threading means that a CPU has 8 logical cores" I didn't say anything. He said that within each core itself is 2 cores that have their own L1 cache and share L2 cache between the 2 cores then have L3 cache for all the cores to share. I'm just like wtf.jpg He also tried telling me that you can have a motherboard with just 3 ram slots that can run in triple channel. Not 6 like on 1366 but just 3 I'm like wtf. He also tried telling me that you need a 50% headroom in a power supply. So if your system consumes 600 watts it should be at least 900 watts and this is for "power surges" 300 watts for power surges wat. I don't know what to do about this. The guy is smart in some respects but other I'm just like why is he teaching. I feel like I should approach a higher up because students shouldn't be getting the wrong information when they are paying this kind of money for an education.
