  1. How's it going, guys. I am currently using an ultra-wide, 21:9 aspect ratio monitor, loving the experience for the most part, however, recently I've run into a pretty big problem; when I play games that support ultra wide, I have no issues whatsoever, it's when I play games that don't support ultrawide and the borders of the of the display narrow to 16:9 that I run into high screen tearing and seemingly lower refresh rate. I also have g-sync and 100hz on my display, so it's very easy to tell the difference. One strange thing I've observed is when I change the display mode in options to "borderless windowed" from "fullscreen" the tearing and low frame rate are fixed, but I get much lower performance and higher input lag, as is expected with using the borderless windowed option. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  2. I could be wrong, Norton works really well, but something could have slipped past it and that could be the cause of all this, haha. Alright, so to attempt to mimic speeds she was getting, as I said, I literally took the ethernet cable (plugged into her ethernet port) and placed it into my PC's ethernet port. Didn't touch the positioning of where it was connected to the router.
  3. Additionally, (oddly enough) somehow I'm actually getting lower ping with the wireless adapter. Around 325ms against the average 550ms with ethernet.
  4. Okay, I just ran a few tests on a wireless adapter with my PC and now I'm encountering the into the samw problems as when I was using ethernet :\ it starts up with relatively low ping, about 80ms but then it just shoots back up.. I purchased the PCIE ethernet card, although, now I'm not certain if that will help.. dang

  6. Alright, I'm fairly certain it's an issue with the Ethernet on my PC, once more I swapped out ethernet cords and booted up a game other than overwatch. Same result. Just to be certain, I ran the command prompt and simply being on my desktop, I have a 500ms plus ping. I can't even load Web pages anymore, I have to use my phone to continue this thread, lol.. Alright, so how should I go about fixing the ethernet for my PC? Thanks a lot for all the help so far, everyone.
  7. Alright, so I jumped into a game of Overwatch, disabled as many applications as possible, and ran the command prompt. It was the first game of the day i was able to play without much latency (around 60ms). But, that didn't last, as you can see from the photo, my ping shot way back up to the 500ms+ category, and got so laggy it actually kicked me from the game.
  8. Currently, when no one else is using the Internet, I experience that high ping. I just tried your suggestion and her ping was still quite low, around 70ms-90ms whereas mine was much higher.
  9. Hi there, I'm fairly new to the forums here, so I will just get right into it. Recently, I've been experiencing stange connection issues resulting in my internet ping skyrocketing, propagating unplayable online gaming experiences. I've tried resetting my router and my PC many times to no success, I'm also using an ethernet cable, and as far as I know, I don't have any sort of virus conflicting with my Internet connectivity (according to Norton Internet Security). The strange thing is, is that my sister who uses the same internet, doesn't experience any sort of latency when playing Overwatch. In fact I ran a test on her rig through some in game settings and found she had less than 60ms of ping. Whereas my tests displayed ping upwards of 250ms-550ms+ ping. I even resorted to using the exact ethernet cable she had been using, only to run into the same high ping problem.. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

  11. What's up guys. So, like a lot of people out there, I have been pretty exited for the Acer XB270HU BPRZ, which is essentially the ROG Swift with an IPS pannel, in my excitement I decided to try and order one. Unfortunately they were on back order on the Acer website so I decided to purchase one from a third party dealer called "Netwearhouse.com". But, now that I looked over the order, it doesn't say anywhere that the monitor has gsync.. Did I purchase the right monitor? This is the link to the monitor I purchased. http://www.nextwarehouse.com/item/?1875419_g10e Thanks so much..
  12. What's up guys, so I recently put together a gaming rig, and with a 1440p monitor I've had my eye on for quite some time coming out soon, I may add another EVGA SSC GTX 970 to my build. However.. Would it be a bad idea with my PSU? Should I upgrade before getting another card? Also, I haven't done any overclocking and don't plan on doing so. My Build: CPU: i5 4690k CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo GPU: Evga SSC GTX 970 PSU: Evga SuperNOVA 650W 80 Plus Gold Certified SSD: HyperX 3k 120gb HDD: WD Blue 1TB Drive Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA 1150 Ram: Gskill Ripjaws 2 x 4GB DDR3 Sticks On PC Part Picker with two cards in my system, it's estimated the wattage will be around 492W. Let me know what you guys think.. Thanks.
  13. That monitor looks freaking sweet... I am guessing it will be around $1600, haha
