  1. Found LinusTechTips as a recommendation from a friend for my first PC build this May. Linus has managed to create an incredible community! I used the forums for help with PC components and watched Linus' build guide (Ultimate $2000) for the assembly.
  2. I have an HP dv4-4048ca and it's time to remove the HDD and upgrade it to an SSD. Laptop Specifications I am very new to this and have never even opened the laptop up. Luckily, I found a tutorial on how to replace the storage disk. However, I'm not sure what SSD to get. Does it support SATA II or III? Any recommendations for a 240-256 GB SSD for this laptop? Currently looking at Crucial M500 240GB but not sure about compatibility. Thank you.
  3. The IPS display is definitely my favorite thing about this laptop!
  4. My favorite part of the G3 is definitely the look! The slim bezels combined with the 5.5 inch QHD display makes it one of the best looking phones out there.
  5. Sounds good. I will keep it at stock voltage then. Thanks!
  6. I'm using the Astro MixAmp for that purpose. Works flawlessly. There must be other cheaper alternatives but I wouldn't know. http://www.astrogaming.com/mixamp%E2%84%A2-pro/3AM99-HBU9X-975.html
  7. Any idea if this is a good overclock for the 780 or should I aim for higher by bumping the voltage?
  8. I just obtained a stable overclock on my GTX 780 (+259 MHz GPU/+296 MHz Memory) without changing the voltage. In-game, the clock reaches 1267 MHz. Max temperatures reach 76 degrees with a custom fan profile. Is it safe to run such a large overclock on stock voltage if it is stable (tested with Kombustor for 24+ hours and also stable in game)?
  9. UPDATE: Managed to get a stable 4.1 GHz at 1.2 V. Not sure what the problem was before. Installed more case fans and now get max 62 degrees under load.
  10. That's nice to know. I just played Far Cry 3 on the 770 and got 60+ all maxed
  11. You can SLI right now: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/MXQm3C Don't need the extra fans. The R4 will have what you need. 1600 DDR3 is ideal for gaming, no need to go higher.
  12. CPU: Intel i5-4670K RAM: 8GB (2x4 GB) Corsair Vengeance 1600 DDR3 GPU: EVGA GTX 770 OC w/ACX cooler RES: 1920x1080 Min FPS: 80 FPS Avg FPS: 106 FPS Max FPS: 150 FPS Preset: Custom - Everything maxed
  13. I misread your post, my bad. So, getting a dual ACX classified 780 3GB would be a good option?
