  1. ok turns out the power connectors wernt plugged in all the way... i overlooked that in my brain cause i thought that it would be common sense for people to notice you have to push that all the way in when installing. but i guess i dont have common sense to check that first either lmao. thanks for the help though!
  2. ok ill try all of that tomorrow and report back on here. hopefully it helps. thanks!
  3. sadly i wont be around the pc till tomorrow afternoon. friend isnt that educated about pc stuff so ill try to get him to see if those are plugged in correctly. if not ill look at the connectors tomorrow afternoon. all 3 fans on the gpu do spin though
  4. when the cable is plugged into the gpu you get no display/signal on the screen. monitor says "no signal found" then goes to sleep. but it works if you use the on board video
  5. would i be able to get the gpu temps even if im using the on board graphics? dont think he had any symptoms but ill double check
  6. a friend recently bought a pc and today he was playing apex and right after the tutorial the monitor went black and said no signal from the dvi cable. he said there wernt any visual glitches or anything and it was all fine till it happened. here is a parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/anthony.kennedy/saved/#view=cbLWGX the 3 gpu fans spin but the word "windforce" doesnt light up. maybe it over heated? (doubt it) maybe it doesnt have enough power? he did leave the pc just idle for 2 hours without a game running or anything on a fresh install of windows. the on board graphics do work though hopefully you guys can help!
  7. this didnt help either ty though
  8. sadly i already did that and it doesnt fix it
  9. idk i have had the hdd since i first made the pc and i didnt know much about pc parts at that time
  10. So i have been noticing lag in all my games and other applications so i decided to check task manager and noticed my hard drive was weird af.... If you could give me advice on what to do that would be great! thanks!
  11. Before i start i want to say, yes, i have a dvi-d dual link cable yes, i have it plugged into the right connectors yes, i have updated my gpu driver to the newest yes, i have gone into CCC and then display options and look at refresh rates and resolutions and it wont show anything over 60 yes, i am very confused OK! I have tried everything i have found that would "fix" my monitor not displaying 144 hz and capping its self at 60 hz and nothing has worked. when i go into device manager it says "Generic PnP Monitor then when i check for drivers it says "Generic PnP Monitor is the newest driver. Please help!!!
