  1. they have like a pile of condenser mics and a ton of different ones have appeared on the show, why the FUCK would they buy fake one even if they're weren't actually using it? Mic is an sE4400a I think btw https://www.amazon.com/Electronics-sE4400a-Large-diaphragm-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B001ECBU2A
  2. well if you need help on this let me know what tools you have or can borrow, and I'll help you pick the right stuff to make it easy. Circular saw or something to cut legs is needed along with a drill, other tools including an impact driver give you more options like heavier bolts or cutting a custom size top. Legs kits for work benches can work and pretty much remove the need for anything but a drill, but it may end up too tall that way and definitely not as rock solid.
  3. I consider your desk and chair to be the most important parts of your setup. If you want to save money, consider DIY for desk. I used a laminate counter top and 4x4 lumber held together with 8 inch lag bolts for my most recent desk build, turned out great and I'm pretty sure it could stop a train and cost less than 100$. Keep in mind 4x4 is hard to cut, you need to cut flip cut or have a large miter, and the lag bolts needed an impact driver. But you could use a regular drill and circular saw to make all of it if you needed and just used less overkill wood and smaller screws, and this is a way to do it with minimal effort/skill and still end up with a very solid desk Most places also sell end caps for these to cover that exposed area on the sides Oh, um forgot the counter top sits on top of a thick high density fiber board workbench top I cut down, it's like 75 pounds and cost like 15$. It really help the top be solid, and the counter top can be replaced cheaply if it starts to look bad.

It's nice to order a null modem adapter monday…

@Silentprototipe for me it's usually the fact that it never leaves the warehouse within that two days, shipping is usually fine. And they 90% of the time act like it's normal, I rarely get a "sorry it's late" thing thing. Got one today for a package that left after it was due to be delivered, "were working with the carrier" as if it's the postal service's fault lol
  5. It's nice to order a null modem adapter monday with prime and have it just now leave the warehouse, probably getting here Saturday or Monday. I understand it taking longer, but please stop calling it prime 2 day when it's never 2 day amazon, I would have rather bought one locally had I considered that nothing ships in 2 business days anymore. Or ordered it from ebay, some random asshole can usually ship faster than an amazon warehouse these days, and the shipping they pay for is about the same. In fact, a cable I ordered Tuesday from ebay got here yesterday with regular shipping.

  6. that sucks lol. I think what you really need to do is contact someone in charge of IT at your old HS and explain the situation- say some accounts are tied to it (don't specify, make it seem more important) and ask if you can have a temporary reactivation or temporary forwarding/alias kinda thing. Also make it clear that you don't need your old emails, you just need to switch accounts using the address.
  7. what mustang someone buys doesn't determine what roads they can drive on. Computer parts are named differently when they have different specs. What they are doing here is taking conventional wisdom for people who understand how to look for parts and compare them just enough build their PC and throwing it in the trash- taking advantage of the fact that they rightly think that computer parts by the same name have relatively the same performance Imagine if there were a bunch of different versions of the i7-8700K, and not all were 6 cores, but all were named the i7-8700K. It's the same kind of idea. There's a difference between "mustang" and a part model number! The name of a car is more compatible to the "i3, i5, i7, i9" nomenclature. What year? What trim?
  8. BetaBrite works! Its gonna read presidential tweet based shitposts live.

  9. can I get my damn keyboard sliders back yet?
  10. Given this was flawless, it's not like people weren't just gonna record the screen. I see the future- personalized streams with identifying content secretly embedded into the video to prosecute some and scare others. I can think of ways around that, wouldn't work forever, but would work when you didn't know it was there yet and manage to scare some off the scene.

@givingtnt I'm salaried and if someone told me like 50$ an hour I'd still take it sometimes.
  12. I often wonder if I could pay for extra hours in the day to take a nap or sleep in, how much it would be worth to me and how fast I'd convert sleep debt into credit card debt.

@8uhbbhu8 I don't even want to fuck with it. I'm just more miffed at his decision making. I could get this fixed and get a few hundred out of it, but I don't think it's worth it because in general my taxes are a nightmare since I bring in a lot of money outside of work and I don't want an audit like they tend to do with people who are self employed or bring in unknown money to accounts. A lot of money goes in an out of my bank account that's not necessarily mine and I'd like to not open that can of worms to additional scrutiny.
  15. I found out that my boss, despite giving 2017's christmas bonus in the form of a personal check, put it into our payroll system so taxes would be withheld from us and didn't say anything. So I reported it manually at tax time with all my other extra income and basically payed taxes on it twice, effectively making the 2017 xmas bonus almost non-existent after double taxes.

Have you gone to the tax office and tried to get it fixed?

  17. Dying is your only way, and carefully. You can do it and a nice job of it since you're just taking it to black, but it's more work than i t's worth and if you're gonna spend that much on a chair it might as well come how you want it to look.

    Lunch break

Hour. I drive home sometimes, which means I take more than an hour in a lot of cases. I take it whenever. Sometimes I don't eat at lunch and eat at my desk later.
  19. They have a lot of mistakes in graphs and charts, and usually they get caught during the floatplane release I've noticed.
  20. I'm thinking like 10 years from now maybe, idk. There's a good chance not as well, I just kinda would want them anyway. I almost bought like 30 ps2 slims right when they were about to end production and I didn't. Like I had an order lined up an everything, even a nice cool dry place cleared to store them. It wasn't even I was worried it wouldn't be worth it, I was more worried that I needed to keep the money in my bank in the short term more. Looking at what even slim new in box ones go for I lost out on that one lol, but that was like guaranteed price increase where this is anyone's guess.
  21. At exactly midnight on new years all of my 10 pcs deactivated. I was able to fix them just by fucking with the activation pane, but wth MS.
This also included a VM I have on AutoKMS, not just legit ones. Soo odd.

  22. I should have bought them, these are basically a part of history at this point. They might even be worth something a few years from now
  23. That's a load of shit. They never mentioned upscaling, and if they were talking about HDR it would at least have a kernel of truth to it. There's a reason they were universally mocked for it.
