  1. A bag remotely similar would have been appropriate, instead you posted a bag that is not even remotely similar just because it was probably a better value. We all know there are many places you can order a product and slap your logo on, we know chinese factories bootleg things a lot, and we all know you can get quality bags cheaper. They were open about exactly what they did for the screwdriver, exactly who they licensed the driver from, and exactly what changes they made. And of course the factory makes different bags than the LTT bags. Holy shit it's almost like a different bag made for a customer using different material to different quality standards using a different design is a thing that a lot of factories offer, or more accurately it's literally their business model. Your claim was that you probably could already find this bag sans logo, and the counter claim is that they hired a so far honest factory to make custom bags to their specs and it thus far has no copy. Again you took what I would think is the winning argument here and just dunked on yourself by opening you mouth before googling first. but you did And it would have been real easy to stay on the defendable side here. Watch. "oops, I guess not yet since they did actually do a custom product, it might take a little while for a quality bootleg if the demand is there, but I bet one day soon. And it's still a bad value anyway- the entire argument is that a quality bootleg would be very profitable at the prices the real one sells for" and your point still would have stood with dignity- right or wrong it's a well reasoned argument against a product like this and is the reason that probably like you I just don't buy youtuber merch. But you deflected, then when called on it doubled and tripled down. He only called you on it because it was so obviously and confidently wrong it was an easy win he could be cheeky as you said and just take an easy W. If you hadn't insisted on that double down, deflection, then light novel about quality pulling doughnuts around the point he probably wouldn't have engaged cause you might have had a good point that would have looked bad to argue with. But you responded to a comment from Luscious that made the argument that "this is probably going to be bootlegged at a much lower price" and immediately pushed the yoke in providing an opportunity for some low hanging fruit for him to pull an easy W on and take out some frustration. That's what's so impressive about it. I wouldn't have bothered logging in just for a bad opinion. You argued an opinion I agreed with so poorly that I felt embarrassed to share the same opinion. When I read "Almost identical" my stomach dropped holy hell man you could have pivoted the argument and saved face. No one here seems to think Luscious had a complete braindead take. Wonder why. Cause right or wrong it wasn't. And I know I sliced and diced your reply to format mine. but I promise I read it all.
  2. I was reading this thread as I often do for video releases, and this series of posts you have made are dumb enough to have inspired me to actually log in and post for the first time in a long time. You took a viewpoint that would normally be easy to defend- "Maybe don't spend 250$ on a backpack, and it's kinda crazy there's such a huge market for all these youtubers to huck this merch" Where you could have chosen some easy vectors Youtuber merch is just needless consumerism and bad for the environment Youtubers and streamers prey on the parasocial relationship of viewer to get them to buy shit even when they shouldn't financially Possibly not worth it for anyone to spend that much on a backpack like that regardless of their financial status And you chose option D Take one of the few influencer hucksters that actually make a custom product and say you can find it on Aliex, then when challenged post a completely different product and try to bury your embarrassment by posting a diagram from an instructables guide on how to make a backpack to prove you know how bags work. The argument and challenge wasn't other places sell bags. It's that other places sold this bag and you're very desperate to redefine that challenge. It's difficult to be so blatantly wrong yet try to move such well defined goal posts but you trucked right on ahead, reducing the collective intelligence of everyone with the privilege of reading this. Your commitment is impressive and your sheer lack of embarrassment is commendable, and as a result my first appointment for stereotactic radiosurgery for the cancer that has spread from my eyes to my brain is next Monday. Congratulations.
  3. Every logitech mouse I've owned in the last 8 years or so has lasted a matter of months before problems. Their wireless mice are fantastic, but it prevents me from wanting to drop so much on a g502 wireless when it's the same low quality as the recent g502s, which my current one is only a few months old and almost kapoot. If I'm going to get a mouse thats gonna double click and have a junky scroll wheel in a few months, I'm sticking with the 30-40$ wired ones. I will say it's not necessary to flip them, but doing so is not the cause of either the double clicking or the scroll wheel problems. Just using them normally is. Take this from someone who literally has a drawer FULL of gaming mice of many brands some many many years old, they don't make them like they used to, especially Logitech. As for when logitech starting having these issues the first mouse from them i had with double clicking was all the way back to the g600. They are willing to just replace without you sending them back these days I've heard, they'd rather pay for good support than just better mice, so if you're willing to deal with getting a few RMAs that might work for you. Some guy on reddit says he's done it more than a dozen times. I've also heard there are other more appropriate switches you can solder yourself to say a g502 or their other mice too I assume, but it's not just the buttons that break on my 502s so YMMV on a different mouse but maybe just get one and replace the switches yourself with better ones.
  4. I'm a tad taller but significantly lighter, yet even at my weight I tend to destroy cheap chairs. I once broke the feet off of one, one of the wheels came flying off and smacked me in the face. I dont lean back but I do lean sideways, and thats the problem. It all depends how you intend to sit. I own 2 need for seat chairs, their huge option, and i dont even use the piston they are so large. Since it sit on my legs and dont sit in the same position often, they are perfect for me, but i warn you you'll only get a few years out of a good "racing" chair and these are the best quality I've seen. Most are trash. Herman miller is a good suggestion (and better for your back), but they are more form fitting chairs and you really need to know if they'll fit the and posture they force you into is right for you. Usually, I'd tell most people to just look at the used market for one- they last years and that way you can sit before you buy too. Offices closing down is a great way to get one cheap. In my case, I'm unable to find them in my size used and I'm sure you'd have the same problem. It's hard to commit to 1000USD+ for a chair without sitting first so I never ordered one. Most of them are WAY to small for me unless I were to order the right size. The advice I'd give is sit in anything locally you can. Look outside of racing chairs first. But if you do go for one, I can vouch this will hold you and youll get 4-5 years out of it before it gets too bad. The armrests tend to peel after a long time (they sell replacements) and the fake leather will peel after about 5 years- at least they did for me, a jeans 24/7 kinda guy. https://www.needforseat.com/collections/xl-series-extra-large Your chair is like your bed- if you can find something perfect spend what you need to in order to get it. I personally plan to drop way more than I did on my bed for the perfect chair, I just haven't found something yet.
  5. yea, Syntaxvgm#4793. I'm almost never active here so DC is best bet. And if you just got it from seller thats probably the right move.
  6. One trick i used to use when in highschool and everyone had those early gen mp3 players with headphone jacks that would become desoldered was to shove a folded up piece of cardstock in there to force the connection without solder. Its possible theres a way to hold it just right to where it makes the connection, but probably not a good way to do that, and that works best with the surface mount stuff not through holes. Plus you'll be banging it all day, itll get dislodged easy. Some hobby stores near me have absolute junk ass soldering irons for 5$, if you have access to something like that it's probably an option. Or borrow someones. TBH, that one I linked for 16USD is just a good thing to have. Every now and then you'll need to fix a port on something and itll save the day. Take it apart and double check its not hot swap switches if you haven't. Some keyboards do have them, though they usually list that as a feature which i didnt see in yours.
  7. Probably not. I dont see anything about that keyboard being solderless switches either. It's no big deal. Grab literally any piece of tech from the trash and practice. Keyswitches are one of the easiest things I've ever soldered, it's not like really small and close together like ports. Here's a cheapo that I've bought years ago and if it's the same itll get the job done nicely. https://www.amazon.com/Vastar-Soldering-Iron-Full-Welding/dp/B01712N5C4/ See that spring loaded thing? Heat up, hit the button and that thing will yoink the old solder. Add new solder. It will still work even if you do a sloppy job oh uh, you say its unsoldered, it'd test it if you can before resoldering. Just to make sure you dont need a new switch. If you got a multimeter you can just test for continuity.
  8. As it is right now, anything. Sandy bridge dual cores with 4 threads still do all that well. I know there's a newer i3 right now thats less than 100$ with 4 cores 8 threads. I'd go for whatever your budget can get.
  9. A thick ass smart watch with a day battery life and a reflective screen is such a compromise in 2019. I'm glad there's some pebble-like options creeping back out there.

I've never understood people who cry about YouT…

every roadcam video in the UK should have a top comment like "Can you please drive on the right side of the road like the rest of the world? Literally cant watch, don't know what's going on"
  12. I've still never learned to type on a touch screen. All these years and I still never got used to it. I never understood where there were never slightly thicker options that had either a keyboard or bigger battery. There's a good portion of people that dont give a fuck if their phone is just slightly thicker, why do ALL models have to sacrifice for thinness? You can still have edge to edge screens on a phone thats 3mm thicker lol. Idgaf as long as it fits comfortably in my pocket, and new phones are too big for that anyway.
  13. I'd hate it personally, but I dont mind the idea of a phone that doesn't activate in my pocket all day (I like to have no pin or print)
  14. but it's all touch screen- and it looks awkward as hell to type on. With that big lip on the bottom, which direction you even hold it to type? My nostalgia goggles are enthusiastically waiting for the F(X)tec slider phone to launch.
  15. I liked sliders much more and I still miss a real keeb, but my only negative flip phone memory was this one I had that had no option to make it answer calls on open- cue me flipping the phone open, putting it on my ear, and full blast ringer right in my ear. That one survived me throwing it full force at someones head, barely missing, hitting a wall and exploding. Blew into pieces, but they all went back together. Most of my negative memories from phones in that time just related to the non standardized firmware all being shitty.
  16. I imagine they were looking for shit like tons of partyhats on their accounts.
  17. I didn't have my razr long because it was take out of my locker at school by the vice principal who kept it... but I had a lot of flip phones after that, and flip phones in general I never had the ribbons break, and didn't really see that happen to others much, and we all played with the flipping compulsively. These folidng screens, on the other hand....just lol
  18. This reminds me of a dupe glitch in Runescape about 2003 I think. Jagex couldn't figure out how it worked, and it was destroying the economy. They offered anyone who could show them how to do it free lifetime membership status. IIRC- a bunch of people snitched on themselves- the very first person did get lifetime membership, the rest were banned.
  19. I personally can't survive in Michigan so I don't know how this phone will fare.
  20. On a more humid day (don't do this if you live in a dry place) a good air compressor will successfully transport every single dust particle from your PC to the air in your shop in about 1 and a half seconds. Electric vacs and canned air don't have the power to remove as much dust as compressed air can without manual cleaning.

The fact that people who put almonds in cookies…

@STRMfrmXMN I love pineapple on pizza. But I don't bake other people pizza, then hide pineapples inside of it where you can't see it on the top and serve these unsuspecting fools "regular pizza" like "chocolate chip cookies"
  22. The fact that people who put almonds in cookies are allowed to vote is terrifying.

  23. My experience with this (and reading about it) was long before 1809, I since haven't tried it. IIRC enterprise and LTSB wont ignore it, but other editions will. This of course, could have been changed. I'd seen some complaints about the same thing when I was researching the problem at the time, and I moved on to other solutions. Some of those threads were related to businesses, and the only answer was "well then why are you not o n enterprise" which never had any of these problems at any point. There was a reason most of the early windows 10 "fixes" were registry edits, not GP edits. Also, some problems with updates overwriting those registry settings makes that a bad idea. Whether or not this is still a thing, it seems pretty apparent to me MS was trying to prevent that large crowd that never updates from doing that, making MS look worse when patched problems still get posted on social media and stuff. Since they've done a lot worse on testing before releases lately, it would take a problem that was maybe solved in a week and get them bad PR for months if they didn't force as many users as possible to update.
  24. It does, however it does it less NOW. 8 still does it to me. I restart for an update, think Im cool, forces me again when im afk the next day- though one problem they've fixed is it used to be you'd sleep/hibernate and the timer would still count down, wake it up, walk away and get the "15 minutes fuck you" warning with no prior warnings, now it actually resets it to 1 day most of the time until it's delayed too long. Keep in mind that you can usually put it off for a day or whatever if you click so, but it gave you a prompt that if you ignore (or are not there for) itll just update now. The same thing for the forced upgrade to 10, which was unacceptable in every way, seriously. It is not the user's fault they've designed it so it even ignores group policy. And yes, it will do it during a render job because those take hours and you dont watch it- in fact the taking solong part is why it's such a big deal, you don't let something compute for more than a day, checking it every few hours, to lose it all to a windows forced update and NOT get mad- it's basically the really time consuming things it gets you on. Funny thing, I once had a desperate sounding phonecall of this exact reason "how do I stop it" on 8. Ofc that was then setup properly, which is much easier on 8- always update on restart and never force restart. I will acknowledge that I'm referring to early 10 and 8/8.1 (never had problems with 7, it was all optional anyway, which meant everyone was 2 years outa date), however I configured systems/moved some to ltsb pretty early on so I really only have like one computer that's still on 'vanilla' 10. It's still malicious. Force update by default is not a bad thing, but not even allowing for a setting? Ignoring GP? Come on. In fact, I'd 100% have less of a problem if they allowed LTSB to have a single sale license, because tbh it's the perfect version of 10 and there'd be SOME remedy for the less-than-power-user types who need an OS that treats them like they have important shit to do. The problem with this behavior of fisting updates with no lube (importantly with no way to turn it off) for the standard user is they will get mad and find a way that fix it that usually involves entirely disabling updates, which defeats the damn purpose and causes other problems they blame MS for (like UWP not working). There's a million apps for this, and most of them do just that- kill it entirely. The "disable all updates" option in 7 was on like most personal computers I saw - full control of the system while it's on is all people really want. Before they didn't want to wait, but these days you don't really have to. When in 7 you could keep updates and just toggle the restart behavior, people just took a meat cleaver to a scalpel problem because "my computer wont tell me what to do". No option to disable updates on restart but an option to disable forced restarts seems ideal.
  25. By malicious I mean no way to delay restarts easily, delayed impending restart methods that were simple kept getting patched even in 8, and not being able to even buy the fucking option (ltsb) unless you're making a volume agreement. So fuck anyone but enterprise users. By malicious, I mean force restarting fuck all your rendering, fuck your work. By malicious i mean you don't even have to acknowledge the warning for it to restart on its own in 15 minutes. Take a shit? Enjoy your lost render job. Forcing this to stop with simple apps breaks a lot of installations that use uwp. It also forces people to get angry and just all disable it entirely (thats what most easy to use apps do) so now you got people not even getting updates when if they had the fucking option to never force restart they wouldn't care. SSDs are a thing, no one has to wait an hour anymore. It's malicious because 90% of people don't know how to make their computer not force update when they're doing something really important. It's one thing to force it when you restart, it's another to not even be able to delay it, or set an option so you can delay it. I mean it even ignores group policy now. How is that NOT malicious? Fuck I was once interviewing someone for a job and their laptop force updated during the skype call. That is a malicious disregard for the user in every way. Not even getting into the forced updates breaking shit. Not a problem for you and me, but others had to pay for repair. Fun related story- During the time when they were forcing people to 10, I had a windows 8.1 machine for a while that existed entirely in a VM, but then I started moving it between a vm and a physical laptop. After entering a second key, it soon deactivated again (understandable) so I just used whatever the most popular kms tool was at the time. Since it was cracked, I didn't think I had to worry about it moving to 10 (which it was to be the only pc I kept on 8 ). Well one day I came home to it being forced to 10 tried to roll it back with the built in option but it wouldn't, (might have to do with crack) and I just used a drive image a took a few days before. It had a legit 10 key and everything. Had I not bought a bunch of 8 keys and used the free update for 10 keys, I would have tried to see if I could do that instead lol.
