I cannot send or receive messages on skype to certain people for hours at a time. If I send a message at 10am and it arrives at 5pm, it will say 10am for both of us, no send and receive times, so people get mad. Skype literally makes my job harder. Fuck you microsoft I can't believe my company pays for this.

Skype is the same way for me. I’ve had clients asking why I didn’t join the conference call when I was trying to so instead I’ll message saying can we switch to the Cisco phones which nobody but me likes...

@givingtnt yah the sad this is we use skype because clients will have it installed most of the time and actually want to use it. I sort of wish we didn't do any internal communication on it. We do have slack, but only as a backup when skypes completely offline which is a thing that happens a lot.

About a year ago I got a text message from a friend of mine. The message was a reply to something I sent but it didn't make any sense because I didn't recall what I said to prompt the response. I checked what the date was when the message was sent. He sent me the message about 9 MONTHS earlier and somehow by magic the message took that long to get to me. I don't know how or where the message got saved on the internet but it did get to its destination eventually.
