  1. Hi people , just wondering if anyone else's experiences are the same as mine. So when ryen 3000 launched i bought a 3600 non x , and plonked it into my asus b350 prime and it worked perfectly blah blah blah just felt the motherboard needed updating as it didnt have some features i wanted. I then purchased a MSI B450 pro carbon ac , plonked in the 3600 with the approiate bios and it worked perfectly , shocker i know right ? Overclocked memory to 3800 mhz everything is golden. However the issue's arrived later after a few bios revision's , i got greedy and tried going past 3800 mhz on the ram and then i had a system crash that was unlike any other before , it was really hard to even get it to boot , but once i worked it out and got back to setting my 3800mhz profile back up , but the bios just ran super slow and un responsive to inputs. A couple restart's later everything is back to normal , still running 3800mhz , but know i have audio issue's popping and crackling , random restart's when playing games , literally as if someone walked in and hit the reset button , boots back up fine though. I should mention stability test all pass no problem stability isnt the issue , but i think either my motherboard has taken a turn for the worse or the bios is corrupted in some way. Specs : Ryzen 3600 16Gb Patriot viper steel 4400mhz Msi b450 gaming pro carbon Vega 64 EVGA GQ 750w power supply Blah Blah Blah Thanks for taking the time to read !
  2. So i couldnt resist fiddled some more and worked it up to 3200mhz with xmp same as my ryzen 1600 , just by enabling xmp but starting at 2400mhz then up 200mhz every time its POST'ed succesfully. So i guess everything is ok so far no issues other than that. Can anyone more knoledgeable than me , tell me if what i just experienced is what some would call memory training ? I've heard people talk about it before but assumed it was for more high-end motherboards , not my peasant b350plus. Thanks people!!!
  3. ok so 1.4 didnt work with xmp , didnt think it would , but just tried lowering ram frequency with xmp enabled and now im at 2866mhz on the ram , will continue messing around tomorrow , maybe the cpus just warming up to it lol Open to any other suggestions thanks people
  4. 1.35v as per the xmp i know i could try and raise Dram voltage ive had it at 1.4v when testing on the 1600 , Just didnt think about raising Dram voltage this time i assumed something else would be the issue. Ill try some higher voltage in a mo and report back!
  5. Hi guys and girls... haven't posted here in a while so title says it all really , ive just upgraded from first gen 1600 to 3600 but im stuck at 2400mhz with horrendous timings , xmp isnt working at all. The 1600 i just upgraded from ran 3200mhz cl14 with lower sub timings no problem. Obviously i've updated to the latest chipset driver and bios available on asus website. Meanwhile cpu is working fine boosting up to 4.3 ghz and what not. Anyone out there with some suggestions im all out of ideas , didnt really want to start playing around with soc voltage and others as i dont think theres a general agreed upon safe voltage for 3rd gen ryzen at the moment . Excluding vcore and the basics. specs being: ryzen 1600>3600 asus b350 plus bios 5007 vega 64 not that it matters team group dark pro 16gb 3200 cl14 memory Thanks
  6. So my first used gpu buy is making me wish i didnt at the moment. Its not a major issue because i bought it from CEX , and i can return it for a replacement , but im convinced its working and something else is going on. So my issue is I get no display from either hdmi or DP , i done a bit of research and read a lot about the issues with poor quality /low power PSU'S and seen as i had a Corsair CX600M i replaced that with EVGA GQ750W As you can probably guess , that didnt fix anything. System specs Windows 10 Ryzen 3 1200 oc 3.9ghz Asus prime B350 plus XFX R9 390X / Upgrading from RX560 and have an R9270X to hand as well. 4x4GB Hyper X Couple of SSD'S and HDD'S EVGA GQ 750W PSU I've tried as many things as i can think of but no luck. Tried the bios switch on the card both fans are spinning , all power is plugged in , tried it in both PCIE slots on the motherboard , drivers , uninstall , install. Cant try the DVI ports because my monitor ( LG 29 inch ultra wide freesync ?) only has DP and HDMI. When i have 2 GPU'S in with power plugged in for that as well , plug in the DP cable to either RX560 or R9 270X with the 390X and both those give a display , plug the DP cable into the 390X and nothing , pc boots up perfectly fine and i'm assuming just sits at the login screen no output what so ever. Same issue with HDMI. Don't really know what makes me think something funny is going on , but the fans are spinning even with just the motherboard power , device manager see's the RX560 and 270X but never seen the 390X. Any suggestions? TIA
  7. Yep done that with the fresh install of 17.7.2 and again when rolling back to 17.7.1 , will give it another try now.
  8. Hi guys , need some help with my gigabyte rx 560. Today logged on to play some bf1 and the game kept crashing as soon as entering a server , anyway updated gpu driver to 17.7.2 and instantly started having issues. the gpu was only running at 214mhz and memory at 300mhz . So i rolled back to 17.7.1 and now my gpu is running at 1420mhz and 2200mhz all the time. Now when sitting idle the gpu wont go below 50c. I've tried removing msi afterburner and restarting the pc , now im stuck i cant change anything in afterburner and it wont go back to stock clocks? An ideas , im lost ? Thanks in advancce.
  9. Ok this is something I haven't been able to figure out by myself. And at the risk of looking like a donut here , how on earth do you mount a generic cylinder reservior to a d5/ddc pump? the only ready made pump/res combo's sold here in the UK feature tiny reservoirs.

    AAA Titles

Ok so i've played through a few AAA games such as Far cry 3&4 AC Unity Tomb Raider 2013 , my question is do you guys just play through the story mission or do you do all the little side missions and other stuff going on ? So far i haven't bothered with any thing other than the story missions , am i missing out on anything? Thought and opinions? Cheers
  11. Thanks for the advice guys what about coop games? I want to get into some that people play regularly?
  12. Guys suggest me some good story line games / single player. I loved tomb raider 2013 , bioshock infinite , but need some new ones to play , the game itself doesn't have to be new. Thanks
  13. probably wont be as bad as when they catch you watching porn
  14. That's my theory! But what first monitor or gpu ? I cant justify nearly a £1000 in one hit! Has to be a 34'' so that it's physical dimensions match my 27'' 1440p , also i don't know how i feel about freesync / gsync , I dont want to be locked into either manufacturer's gpu?
  15. Ok so I want a ultra wide monitor because they look badass and I would like the extra fov in games. However at the moment I only have a 270x 4gb version and my current monitor is a Korean 1440p monitor the gpu does ok I have to turn down some settings in most games, I'm OK with that. The problem is I'm not sure I can justify the extra money of the hi res vs the 1080p monitor, but at the same time I don't think I can deal with losing some of that vertical resolution. I'm not sure going backwards in terms of res is going to work seen as I will have both monitors side by side Anyone who has a 2560x1080 version can you comment and tell me about how it is compared to your previous monitor and the resolution of that monitor? Option 1 1440p no new gpu for a long while, even lower fps Option 2 1080p lower res higher game settings potentially no need for a new gpu? What would you do?
