  1. Two main reasons : - I have never heard a bad experience and I have personally used a bunch of them. - When you google best power bank Anker comes top for large packs every time. I wonder though do if there are other brands with less pervasive marketing that are just as good. I bought a big 24,000 mah RAV power battery years ago and it’s lasted really well. But rav power no longer sell in the UK. But when I look at the big reviews Anker always seem to be the only game in town. Thanks for the recommendation of BaseUS. Now I have 2 in the mix UGreen and BaseUS. It would be cool if manufacturers had to declare the cells they use so you could compare apples with apples or if someone did tear downs to see what cells are inside.
  2. Ugreen does seem to appear to market their batteries like Anker does. Brand recognition, power safety/ stabilisation features/ PD etc. Not sure if that all stacks up to be as good as Anker but it looks promising
  3. Are there any other brands producing good quality power banks other than Anker? (I am in the UK) Looking for the biggest one you can take on a plane (max 100wh)
  4. I just got a new graphics card and I want to try cyberpunk 2077 for the first time. I was thinking of just getting the base game and just seeing how I like it. But I’m not sure if buying it together with the new Phantom Liberty DLC would add lots of cool toys to the main game. if anyone knows that would be great
  5. Don’t have a PS5 yet. Debating whether to play it on my existing PC with 980ti or wait to play it on a PS5 which I plan to get later in the year
  6. It seems cyberpunk on PS5 has : - 4k quality (ray tracing) 30fps - 4k performance 60fps What about playing on a 1080p screen? Can’t you get 60fps ray tracing when the resolution is 1/4 that of 4k? What will you get running on a 1080p screen? (I have a 1080p 60hz protector)
  7. I have a pc with the above specs. My wife really wants to get a PS5 for its simplicity. We game on a 1080P 60fps projector so not demanding there. Would the PS5 provide a better gaming experience than the pc for smoothness and graphics? looking to play games like : Cyberpunk 2077, Plague Requiem, Jedi - Survivor Uncharted legacy of thieves collection Split screen games would be cool: currently playing “The Two of Us’ If we get the PS5 would also play the new Horizon , God of War, maybe Spider-Man games Also wondering about : console game pricing , is this a dealbreaker? how good are the PS5 haptics? Fun gimmick or experience improvement you wouldn’t give up?
  8. I found a USB-c hub on Amazon with Gigabit Ethernet and 3x USB-a 3.2. The main thing I want to use it for is to backup usb3 hard drives to the NAS. This means both the Ethernet (my connection to the NAS) and the USB hub will be operating simultaneously. The USB ports on the hub are Gen3.2 so I assume this thing has at least 5Gbps bandwidth. Does that mean a hard drive reading at 120MBps (0.96Gbps) and Ethernet at 1Gbps leaves me 3Gbps of headroom. So performance should not suffer? or are there other issues with using 2 devices (or more) on a hub other than bandwidth?
  9. I'm open to a wider time range but I am hoping for something with Command and Conquer 3 / C & C generals or above levels of graphics. Red alert 2 or Tiberium Sun are past my graphical tolerance levels now.
  10. I loved command and conquer and the red alert games. But they for some reason collapsed a popular game franchise. I know Starcraft is out there but I could never get into it. Any recommendations of similar fun strategy games that took up the mantle of this style?
  11. Do you know of any that hand off well to each other? I often find in multi AP setups that they hold on for dear life to even a super weak signal as long as its active before looking for a new one.
  12. A 2 base station mesh system seems to be about right for the size of property. However, if you place a standard router downstairs and then go upstairs and get poor signal on a laptop or phone then it may be that the wireless signal from the mesh base router downstairs may also be lost by the time it gets to the 1st mesh repeater upstairs.
  13. I have a friend who has a 2 story house with concrete walls (concrete is very good at blocking wifi signals). He has asked for a recommendation for a router. My instinct is to go with a beast single router first and if that doesn't work then try mesh here are my candidates. If you have a better strategy or recommendations for specific routers please post them Single router candidate : Netgear Nighthawk AC3200 R8000 https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-routers/R8000.aspx Mesh candidate : Netgear Orbi RBK50 AC3000 https://www.netgear.co.uk/orbi/rbk50.aspx My concern with the mesh is that if normal wifi is blocked how will the mesh signal get from router to router? It could require a powerline unit to take the signal through the walls with a powerline wifi access point on the second floor. However, I don't think I have found one yet that seamlessly hands off between the access point and the master router. Would be happy to discover one that does though.
  14. Great thanks Hopefully don't need to go to minimum. Just need to make it sound like it did playing the Witcher 3 or Metal Gear Solid V
  15. Thanks Will the GPU automatically downclock to protect itself if I force the fans to run slower like that?
