    1. Disassemble completely, take 2-3 pictures of each component.
    2. Place components back in original packaging, take more pictures.
    3. Take most valuable/fragile components with you (GPU,CPU, SSD/HDD) well packed in a box that fits into a piece of rolling luggage and fill extra space in luggage with clothes or foam, take pictures.
    4. Pack remaining components securely into 1-2 larger boxes, take pictures.
    5. Seal larger boxes then completely wrap the exterior of the two larger boxes in clear wide packing tape, be sure to cover every inch and to not leave gaps, this is to waterproof the boxes and to act as a security measure as you will know immediately if some one has opened the box during transit or if some damage has occurred, take more pictures.
    6. To further secure your parts write your full name and phone number on several locations on the boxes, you should also take several pictures of the exterior of the boxes to aid in replacement of parts if something is damaged/destroyed/stolen in transit.

To further aid you, you should make up a list of each and every part that includes
Date of purchase Where it was purchased from Price of item when purchased Include proof of purchase with this list (suggest you do it as a text doc so you can include all the pictures and proof of purchase on a flash drive)

This is probably the most secure method to ship something like PC hardware, it's a known fact that packages get treated roughly or stolen during transit. Doing this will hopefully keep that from happening or at least make it easier to be reimbursed should something occur.

Wait this "new" news? How dumb/blind did you have to be too not see that our lifestyles aren't sustainable and that eventually all creatures become extinct anyway.

And here we are reading this (most of us) on some ridiculous overkill computer that we upgrade every year or two and spend thousands on meanwhile there are people who don't know where their next meal will come from.

everything count to life reacted to RedRound2 in Jony Ive: Competitors steal Apple's work
Here is the good news: you can make Jony Ive angry. All you have to do is copy his ideas.
How do I know? Because I've just read a long interview with him in the UK's Sunday Times. (It's behind a paywall, but I promise I didn't steal it.)

This interview was part of the Sunday Times Magazine's "Makers" series, and Ive warmed immediately to the concept. "Everyone I work with shares the same love of and respect for making," he explained.
He added: "Objects and their manufacture are inseparable. You understand a product if you understand how it's made."

The problem is that the word "maker" has been co-opted, nay stolen, by the pimple-faced, soft-hearted techies of San Francisco, who are deeply hurt to be called "techies."
Ive, though, believes craft is enjoying a resurgence. He said he once took his iPhone apart and put it back together again, just to prove he could.

Interestingly, the Sunday Times managed to dig up a photo to prove that he once had hair. And lots of it -- spiky like a Bay City Roller.

The interview takes great pains to describe the great pains Ive takes to make sure the products aren't great pains. This is relatively familiar territory.
But Ive shone a little light into why Apple doesn't exactly make cheap products.

    He said:
We're surrounded by anonymous, poorly made objects. It's tempting to think it's because the people who use them don't care -- just like the people who make them. But what we've shown is that people do care. It's not just about aesthetics. They care about things that are thoughtfully conceived and well made.
The implication, of course, is that they're prepared to pay for that thoughtfulness.
Ive put it like this: "We make and sell a very, very large number of (hopefully) beautiful, well-made things. Our success is a victory for purity, integrity -- for giving a damn."

He believes his job is making technology personal and he believes that the relationship people have with Apple products is intimate. (Oh, of course, he vaguely, slightly hinted at an intimate iWatch. But he wasn't going to actually say anything, was he?)

Asked whether all the lining up outside Apple stores to wait for the latest thing isn't intimately insane, he replied: "It's a demonstration against thoughtlessness and carelessness."
I bet you've never thought of it that way. You always thought it was just a bunch of style-obsessed, superficial groupies who are vacuous in the extreme. (At least Samsung thinks so.)
Talking of Samsung -- which Ive specifically did not -- there is talk (and legal action) suggesting the Korean company (and others) occasionally mimics the work of Ive and his team.

Copying clearly annoys him. "It's theft," he said.
He added: "What's copied isn't just a design, it's thousands and thousands of hours of struggle."
Quiet struggle, though. Ive described a "pre-verbal" understanding at Apple about what everyone is trying to achieve.
Apple only gets verbal during the fancy presentations. And when it sues you, of course.

Whatever he said is actually true, only apple is the one I've seen giving software support for a 4 year old device. I have an S4 and nothing major has still come out for it, which is a huge disappoint because I'm not getting anything extra for what I paid

And their services are just rock solid and a great experience.

Hate on apple, I don't mind but only if you have a good reason. Majority of the people don't even know what they're talking about when they are criticising apple

Okay so while this is still a normal thread and we'll likely be checking out your responses, we've got a couple ideas already that we'd really like to do, so unless something absolutely unbelievable comes along in the comments here it'll be one of those two...

Please watch the video before voting. Luke and I worked (somewhat) hard on putting together these pilot "proof of concept" episodes, and while they aren't perfect they should give you a taste of what's to come.... if you want to see it, that is...
