  1. The goal would be to make Linus so toxic that people don't want him or his company involved in them. IE: If people cancel their framework orders, framework would need to distance from him / force him to sell his shares / dilute him out. I'm not saying whether I support it or not, frankly I don't care, but I kinda get it? Especially because if you buy a Framework product, and they do well, Linus is going to profit off that. But maybe that's all going a bit too far, but at the same time people putting their money with their mouth is, is better than just ranting on a forum and changing absolutely nothing. Least they have some convinctions!
  2. Good advice, but that site is fine. There's no network requests happening when you type in the box. A lot of these strength tests are done using javascript run in the browser to detect strength. Every website does this already. It's nothing new.
  3. Linus can't really tweet things like this: And then take an RTX 4080 sponsor in the next video lol. Am I perhaps thinking about this too much? I really think LTT glossed over the whole RTX 4080 scenario a bit too much. And, I cannot help that shouty drama fueled part of my brain that says; of course they would if they had deals like this on the table. Anyway, would be nice if we had this kinda thing addressed. The price of the RTX 4080 is a talking point, and LTT taking sponsors for it tells me they're fine with the pricing of it, otherwise you wouldn't take the sponsor. Telling us to stop buying them to lower the price, while also advertising them to us, is you not at all standing up for anything? There is something you can do, stand with the community. Cheers,
  4. God this video again. I remember you guys did this I believe it was for TechQuickie maybe? Where you pretended you used Monday.com, yet it was trial software. Is this the same deal, or does LTT actually use monday.com for it's workflow?
  5. Think this was perhaps one of the most useless videos I've ever seen on this channel. - Single Channel Memory? - Pointless talking about parts which didn't work together? Did you legit just read out what you attempted as an attempt to extend the video minutes? Why do we need to know what you did behind the scenes with weirdo chinese parts? - All used parts, like you even said it yourself, the graphics card looked like it game from a mining rig. - Fire hazard motherboard??????? - "our initial plans didn't work, so we got lazy and just used a old process from the warehouse"???? Feels like genuinely out of ideas shit here. And I feel like I see this kind of video every now and then. Which might explain also why I'm exhausted with seeing the same old same old. This does absolutely nothing for the notion of buying used in order to get parts in. Why don't you just accept the consoles are genuinely a good deal instead of steering customers towards hardware failure.
  6. As someone that games at 1440p 165 FPS Target, this is so true. Nothing I play that's a relatively modern and nice looking title works with NVENC at 60FPS / 1080P, it's just too much for even a 2080TI to handle, and it's either me or the youtubers absolutely not using what they're selling. I've stuck to using x264 with my Ryzen 9 3900x and it's been a dream. Absolutely no issues.
  7. Actually, this is an insanely good point to make. I always assumed these 250 dollar devices were doing the processing, but all it does is just pick up a video feed. Why not go into how you can setup an NGINX RTMP Capture feed on a network and just pass that in. I used to use an old x5530 server on eBay, cost me £150, had 2 processors and 64GB of ram, loaded the thing up and just set it to encode my video feed from my main pc (Which pushed via OBS) to this server and then onto twitch. Was an amazing solution and worked 10x better than these capture cards. (For the situation, as Linus said Cameras etc will be different)
  8. I'm not entirely sure the point of this video. Obviously it's sponsored so great? But there could have been so much more. I was eating dinner throughout, but did you not even mention anything about the benefits of a second streaming PC? I might've missed it. This could have been a fantastic opportunity to measure the latency or benefit of having a second PC and doing something fun. Instead it seems like it was just strictly in the confines of whatever sponsorship was agreed with no real creative direction at all. I feel myself always complaining about Sponsored videos because half the time, especially with the Monday.com ones they're just lazy. Also, the latency test between the USB capture card.... is that accurate? Like, I've used those a handful of times, rightfully so it was a HD PVR that I used last, so it might just have been that, but usually you plug something into it, you can tell there is lag, you're saying there's basically none at all? That doesn't sit right with when I've used them before. Maybe it's gotten massively better? If Linus can tell there is lag when using Game Streaming services like Stadia, he should 100% tell there is lag with those. But again, maybe it's massively better than the Dazzle / HDPR days.
  9. Okay, I don't like how this video didn't have sponsored in the title. Whereas on Floatplane they do, seems like Floatplane users have that choice of avoiding no doubt because they're paying a fee for content and don't want to watch ads, whereas the youtube plebs even though I pay for YouTube red am not being informed what is an Ad on the channel or not until I've clicked it. That tells me more about the content right there, the fact that Floatplane users seem to have this allowance of skippability whereas youtube users are no doubt baited. Like, there was a decision at a higher level here to go, Put this as ponsored, this as non-sponsored until they click the video and we get that click/view. You had me for about a minute, so the retention was there and Monday.com was blasted in my face. You guys could do really well with this in just reviewing the Monday.com platform, if you use it like you say you use it, then do it in a normal LTT way, obviously since it's being used by you, an endorsement from you goes a long way rather than this obviously planned skit video. LTT sells content, I know what you guys do I know your workflow and I know how hard it is, instead I got a video of Riley going across the internet taking in all the news possible firing them into a doc and calling it job done, like, wow great. I'm really interested in mangers like this for in work, it's a big factor of my job to review platforms like this and see if we could be doing things better. This "different feeling" to everything else that you guys produce content doesn't sell me on it. It tells me that you are either hiding something or doing it for the dollar rather than being straight up. Which I get, you have to do. Maybe it isn't selling to me, but your audience having someone like me in it, which I feel is trying to sell to me, I mean it's a bunch of gamers, kids and enthuiests right? Who has the power in their workplace to change project management platforms, not many. If you want to keep doing this type of content, fair enough, let me know so I can skip it, else simply put I'm not a fan of being snaked like this so I will stop watching. Really, these videos just aren't my cup of tea, so I do skip over them. It seems obvious if I want to do that, I need to shell out for floatplane to do so. Maybe I'm the only one on this, but the number of times I've felt like this watching a video is only increasing, and I know you've had posts like mine on multiple videos before but it feels like either no one is listening or no one cares. You've got a ton of staff members and need to pay the bills. Somehow that's our fault and we now need to skip videos of yours we feel will be ads because you aren't telling us in the title. Edit: More Info: I also seen from the comments, you guys don't even use this!!! This clearly shows you're using the trial version. WTF. Why!!! I've been blatently lied to. I don't like this at all. Can we get some response to this?
  10. What Free shit are you talking about? Linus earns money from viewers watching his content. Viewers supporting him on Pateron, Viewers supporting him through Forum subs, Viewers supporting him through massive donation runs like the moving into a new place that happened a while back. I'm not saying he should remain where he is. I'm saying he needs to follow some decent ethics. Being that if you say something a year ago, you keep to it.
  11. Yup I remember the episode. People are also going to remember this so I suppose he was correct.
  12. I've never seen anyone defend anyone this hard. Holy crap. Okay, It may be on another Channel, but it's still LMG Content which was said to be both on youtube and vessel for free. I don't care how much you earn and how much you waste your money but, if you say something. Don't go around and do the opposite 1 year later.
  13. They don't do it for free. Where are you hearing this from?
  14. Completely fair enough. However this is in my eyes this is Linus Media Group Content. At 1:50 odd Linus states that all LMG content will remain on youtube. I know you aren't going to reply so I'll wait for the official statement. But please take what we are saying onboard. Thanks Nick!
  15. That makes no sense mate. You say that CSF will continue going on both Vessel and YT but that is not the case with this series of videos that are meant for Vessel only. If LMG Is going to be doing exclusive content just say it. Don't say one thing and then go back on it. Also it is very rich that you are making this exclusive on vessel. Yet still have the patreon page up for CSF Content? Like... wtf. Surely if people are willing to give you monthly money to make CSF Content then they shouldn't also have to go onto Vessel aswell to watch it? That is bang out of order mate. I'll wait for the official response. But the only way that this isn't going to backfire heavily is by retracting this series and putting it on youtube too. Your success came from your watchers on YouTube. Now they need to pay to watch it?
