    TL:DR, It is for portability and couch gaming
    I basically put together a Small Form Factor Build so that I can Carry it around to play video games to almost any where I go. I am not a huge fan First Person Shooters and I do like the Duashock 3 which would serve as its controller. I will use a Wireless KB/M set for other purposes with the system. It will be used mostly for 1080P 60fps gaming with Virtual Super Resolution used for better picture quality. Usually it will be with my TV but I will also carry it around to my friends' place for gaming like I stated  before.

    Probably try running them on stock cooler and identify the issue. Maybe you could send the card for a much needed fix back to the manufacturer

    980 doesn't perform as great as r9 fury

    A Fury(non-x) Crossfire setup will beat the 980 at 1440P
    At 4K the fury beats the 980ti SLI but at 1440p the 980ti SLI does beat the fury(non-x) CF
