  1. IMO you dont need a k series chip for what you're doing and i5 6400 is fine for most cases and u save on cooler as the stock is fine for the i5 6400, and u save on mobo as a h170/h110 board will do fine and u can dumb that money into better gpu or a higher capacity ssd
  2. obviously the 6700k, but only by about 10%, though the skylake one has better power efficiency
  3. other good options are, the hp spectre x360, asus zenbook ux305ca(with skylake core M) or ux305la/ua(with broadwell U and skylake U respectively), or the ever popular dell xps 13, the razer blade stealth is a first gen product, so we know that its probably not as refined, but it's up to you, just avoid the model with 4k screen as it is unnecessary as you'll need scaling and also eats battery life
  4. The title pretty much says it all, it doesnt work when i plug the male usb c into female usb c port of the oneplus two, and i have already enabled USB OTG in the settings, any fixes ?
  5. Too many wireless clients and my AP is an old dlink one with only single band wireless-n, plan to get an ac dualband AP since there is quite a lot of devices that have it
  6. linus has covered quite a bit about wireless router (AP+router) and there's tons of review on the wireless performance of a router/AP online, but I'm wondering should i get just a new AP while using my old wireless router(with its ap turned off) or get a new wireless router(AP+router) altogether ?
  7. Okayyyy, if what u believe is that 'TDP has been INCREASING across generations' and 'processors aren't getting more efficient' well, i guess i wont argue with u
  8. Umm, i'm talking about laptop CPU not desktop
  9. Yeah but skylake's efficiency is even better than broadwell which equals better battery life
  10. Well u can say that but, broadwell was delayed and its lifespan will be quite short and skylake is just around the corner
  11. Hello, just wan some suggestions about whether to wait for skylake or just get a broadwell laptop, im looking for an ultrabook with emphasis on battery life and portability I have already bought a Zenbook UX305 with 8Gb ram and 256GB ssd for my brother, but ive used it for a while and while its really good, i feel that the core M isn't good enough for me as a user as i notice the lag quite often, im waiting for the HP spectre x360 to release in my region as it is the best now IMO for my budget as XPS 13 is too exp for my money So the QS is still, wait for skylake or get a broadwell laptop ? any suggestion for laptops is also welcomed but make it below USD 1000 and must have 8GB ram and 256GB ssd minimum
  12. Thanks for the advice, im planning to get a tp link TL-WPA4220KIT since its the cheapest in my region, similar solutions from brands like d-link and linksys cost almost twice as much and given my house is quite new (only a few years) it should work fine
  13. I have a question about cat 5 to cat 3 adapters, i have all my wireless equipment downstairs, im trying to get some connection upstairs but i cant really run an ethernet cable there, so im thinking about converting a cat 5 to cat 3 and then use my house's cat 3 wiring to install a extender upstairs and then use a cat 5 to cat 3 adapter again to plug into my range extender, will this work ? or i should just get a powerline extender
  14. Recently i just got a ZENBOOK ux305, it's an awesome laptop for the price. I got the 8gb ram and 256gb ssd, it works great, would like to see a review from linus, but there's an issue, when trying to use both the bluetooth(was using a bluebud X) and wifi, like say streaming music from spotify and listening to them using by bluebuds, the wifi connection will somehow become really flaky and just stops working after a while, this is fixed the instant i disconnected my bluebuds, i confirmed that it was the wifi driver issue by using a usb to Ethernet dongle and restream my music, and it didn't have any problem. THE FIX get the latest driver, NOT FROM OEM website, BUT FROM INTEL, specifically, get the driver version 17.16.04 or later, i didn't try rolling back the driver to simulate issue because took me so long to fix it, ain't going to break it
