  1. Has a 5 Year warranty, but since I can't spare my laptop right now at all, I come here hoping for some miracle I guess. I still have 100gb free space, so that shouldn't be the issue.
  2. Hey, a couple months ago I bought a P1 SSD from Crucial, it was supposed to be cheap and fast enough, and even reviews showed that. However it always seemed slower than it should. Basically I would copy a big file, like an ISO, it would go REALLY FAST (1GB/s fast) for about 2gb and then drop to like 50mb/s. Now I know about the DRAM cache, but I've never seen an SSD slow down so much when it runs out of cache... So yesterday I decided to test my theory that something wasn't right with ATTO benchmark and this was the result: So my understanding here is that everything is fine until it runs out of cache and then it's slower than an SD card... I also tested my old Intel NVMe SSD and my Samsung 850 Evo and the results were WAY BETTER, like they actually made sense and writes were consistently faster with the bigger sizes. Next I checked if there were any firmware updates and stuff and there were, so I updated the SSD firmware and the driver, and you'd think, well that's gotta be it right? WRONG! IT'S EVEN WORSE! Now EVEN WITH CACHE the max is like 300mb/s writes and WITHOUT cache it's 50mb/s, but WORSE is that the cache works even less frequently! This is after updates: Now it actually has SD card speeds and the reads are slower! There was nothing wrong with reads, now even that is fucked! If you're wondering if this translates to real world, here's me making a copy of an ISO: So yeah, it does... This is what the performance should be like: And it nowhere near that, the cache doesn't even work for 5GB min like they say, it's more like 2GB. Now I'm here to ask if any of you have similar experiences with Crucial or other SSD's, things don't add up here. I feel like contacting Crucial for an RMA, but I really can't afford to have no laptop for weeks right now...
  3. I think I'm going to disassemble the graphics card and look for something burnt, my hopes and kinda dying...
  4. Like I said in the title, it doesn't boot, the motherboard throws a B2 code
  5. Yeah, I cleared CMOS and tried the 2nd BIOS on my motherboard. I'm not sure if there's a way to reset the graphics card firmware? It doesn't seem to have a firmware switch...
  6. Hey people, I'm having a problem with my R9 280x, yesterday it was working perfectly fine, but today I booted the computer and it crashed with a white screen, which I thought was just Windows 10 being Windows 10, so I rebooted, things were looking fine, then 10mins later... So I try again and finally the motherboard starts giving me a B2 code (MSI), so I look it up, bam, graphics issue. The computer works fine with integrated graphics, but as soon as I pop the 280x back it, B2 code again. We're having a very humid week with lots of rain and there was humid dust on the card, so I'm hoping it eventually works again, but I've heated it up with a hair drier for a while and still nothing. It doesn't seem to have a dual bios switch so I can't test that, and using the 2nd bios on my MB resulted in the same thing. My specs: MSI Z87 MPower Asus R9 280x DirectCUII 4x4Gb 1600mhz DDR3 HyperX RAM Intel 4690k PSU EVGA G1 650W And disks. Any sugestions/ideas of what to do? Hoping it's not dead...
  7. No, I bought 2x4GB first and then added another 2x4GB, they're exactly the same model.
  8. Hello, I'm here to ask for advice on getting my ram speeds improved, because I have 4x4gb of DDR3 HyperX Fury 1600mhz RAM and I always had a CPU overclock at 4.2ghz, easily, very low voltages, but it was only stable when I had 2 sticks of ram. When I upgraded to 4 the system started crashing after like half an hour of use and I found out it was the ram, so I lowered it to 1400mhz. It's stable for half a year now, already went to 4.6ghz no crash at those speeds, but I read that 1600mhz should never cause problems, so I want to ask here for advice, maybe changing timings or some kind of voltage on the ram, it does not have XMP as far as I'm concerned, but I wanted to at least get it back to 1600mhz, I feel like I'm losing performance for no good reason. EDIT: forgot to mention I have a Z87 MPower and a 4690k Thanks

  10. Is there no way to know the bad stick by using log files? It has the ram address from the error. I'm saying this because I think what will happen is that I will test it, nothing will happen and then ill be like "Is it working or am I just unlucky". I can do these tests and will do if nothing else works but I'd like to find out a fast method.
  11. Well yes, but I'm pretty sure the stick works and it just has a problem doing something, so It would take a really long time for me to take a conclusion out of that method. If memtest does not find an error, I think that'll be a pretty hard method. Am I thinking this wrong?
  12. Hello, I am coming here as a last resort because I am right now going crazy with what's happening with my computer. So a few months back I bought 2 more sticks of ram, so now I have 2x4gb (same model and brand) of ram, but now I know that I was really dumb because I started getting blue screens, but at the time I gave the blame to AMD drivers because they were in many of the crash reports, so I kept waiting for new drivers hoping for a fix, reinstalled them many times, etc etc. I never gave the proper inspection to this. But now it's starting to cause me a lot of problems, I have already had the computer crash on me 2 times today while working on an important project and it's really pissing me off already, It's not the first time it destroys my work. I know it's my RAM because it happens everytime I have a lot of chrome tabs open or a lot of programs open that use a lot of ram, like photoshop, sony vegas, etc. Sometimes while working I end up using 15/16gb of ram and that's when it happens the most, but when I'm just regularly using the computer not using more than 8gb nothing happens! I have already done memtest but it can't detect anything! I am 90% sure it's my RAM, it started when I installed the other 2 sticks (I lost track which ones were) and it happens everytime I use a lot of ram! It's just way too much coincidence for me. So now I have a problem: How can I prove that it is my ram (some log or anything like that) and how can I know which stick it is? I want to RMA this but I don't think they will accept me just going there and saying this ram is faulty and they they plug it in a nothing happens. How can I do this? EDIT: Just checked, I bought the sticks of ram on the 31/08/2016 (plugged them in the same day) and the first blue screen report I have is from 1/10/2016, so 1 month later it started.
  13. I used amd overdrive and it didn't work, then I used afterburner and it didn't work either. the 280x does not have access to wattman, just 285. EDIT: I also noticed that when AMD released the crimson update, for a day I was able to have my normal overclocks back, but the next day it was back to the same crap.
  14. Hello, I am having a problem with my AMD R9 280x because I can't seem to change anything that involves power on the card, it's like it is locked. I have overclocked on it before, so I don't know what is going on! For example, I want to change the stock 1600mhz memory clock to 1500mhz because this card has a tendency to artifact at those stock voltages, I move the slider, apply and.... NOTHING, the graph says its still running at 1600mhz. GPU clock is currently running at 970mhz when asus advertises it at 1070mhz and even when I reset settings it resets to 1070mhz, but it STILL stays at 970. I move the power bat to max, change core voltage, nothing seems to change! Just look at this picture to understand what I'm saying: Right now, I'm really not happy because I am running on an underclocked card to what was sold to me. Not even resetting settings changes anything! Tried multiple overclocking softwares, none work, including the amd overdrive. Any ideas on what might be going on?
