Yeah. Make sure your CPU OC is rock stable (remove your RAM OC and test it). If it is, then your RAM OC is the culprit.

Aside from ones mentioned already theres: Aida64, Unigine, HCI MemTest, and less commonly OCCT, furmark, geekbench.

For monitoring there's CPUZ, GPUZ, HWInfo, CoreTemp.

Oh and Cinebench R23 is the latest version I believe.
    Nice!

    @HairlessMonkeyBoy
Any advice regarding the rounding errors in the context above?

At some point during the tweaking I think I may have corrupted my windows install as I ran into the following errors in the following order around 30 min apart playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

1st - kernel security check failure
2nd - system thread exception hot handled
3rd - kmode exception hot handled

Also I should note that I also ran some debloat scripts which cleared some "bloat" registry keys, so this may have led to the system errors. Not sure.

I've reinstalled Windows and am running at the following settings with no issues so far. Do you have a personal favorite app/suite for testing stability?

    CPU - 4.6GHz
    Core Voltage - 1.355
    DRAM - 3.2GHz
    DRAM Voltage - 1.4058
    Cache Ratio - 4.4GHz
    VCCIO - 1.272v/AUTO
    VCCSA - 1.248v/AUTO

I'm going to run a few benchmarks as a recap to this thread and let then let it die as I actually pulled the trigger on a 5600x, B550 and 360mm cooler for a good deal. It'll be interesting to look back and illuminate the bottlenecks I was experiencing with the 6600k.

That is absolutely not helpful in any way.

I second this. You should notice a pretty nice performance bump with an SSD,

Wasn’t treating it like that. I guess I meant I wanted everyone, in LTT community, to share each persons personal opinion.

I don't even understand how ads are so (apparently) lucrative or worthwhile for companies. obv I'm not in marketing. But TBH when I see ads for products/services invading my personal space I actively avoid said product. I'm not sure what my subconscious thinks about it, but I am a true ad hater.

Also, FYI, main reason I'm holding off on any hardware upgrades RN is I'm waiting on AMD to launch their new platform with DDR5 support so I can future proof as much as possible. Hopefully it won't be much longer after that for GPU prices to return to sanity.

That'd be awesome, I appreciate your time.

How about I get the DRAM freq as high as possible without errors and then upload a shot of the BIOS showing current VCCIO and VCCSA settings and then going from there?

A CPU upgrade would be a massive improvement with your 1080ti.

IMO When you do upgrade, get at least 8 cores.

Otherwise you can't really fix only having 4 threads, anything that doesn't run well on 4 threads wont run well even at 5ghz.

    I got a ton of errors @ 3.2Ghz in the first pass alone. ( > 300)
    Passed with 0 errors @ 3Ghz

Going to inch it up by one step and re-test tonight.

As an aside, my OC on the GPU was all wrong too so I was able to get a really nice gain by pulling down core clock and upping VRAM by +500Mhz. I'll post final results in a couple days. Thx again for the help.

I get that, but I explicitly stated I'm not looking for hardware suggestion ATM. And I've actually been able to get some decent performance gains working with @HairlessMonkeyBoy

Instead, large companies just flood the ad space...
I'm like you on this, but consider: you might see an ad for a <brand> power supply today and barely even register it (or "actively avoid it" for a bit), then a year from now you might need a power supply and if you don't know much about them the first name that would pop into your mind would be the one you saw an ad for.

That's not to say all ads are effective, there is actually some data indicating that continuous ad spam does not really do much more than a few ads here and there.

Unless you want to get really deep into this and spend a lot of time and frustration on it, I don't recommend doing a comprehensive guide like that. In the best case there is little benefit, in your case much less. Memory overclocking is more of a masochists' hobby. I enjoy it, but not many do. There is a lot to it.
That would be VCCIO and VCCSA. I don't believe this was an issue on Z270, but I could be wrong. As long as auto doesn't do more than 1.25V then you are fine, which it shouldn't do at 3000Mhz nor at 3200Mhz.
These are actually voltages that go to the IMC in your CPU. They don't go to the "slots" by which I think you meant the DIMM slots.
Do two things to test. Run memtest86 from a bootable usb overnight and allow it to run through all tests. Then, do a custom prime95 test with large FFT (512-4096), and at least 75% of your RAM (12GB tested with the in-place box unticked.

Hey so I was thinking, you might be able to squeeze a bit more out of your CPU by OCing your RAM. You were already running it at 3090Mhz because of the BCLK OC vs the 3000Mhz stock speed.

If I were you, I'd see if 3200Mhz would work without changing any other settings, or maybe just by increasing the voltage a bit.

That 6600K is definitely holding your 1080Ti back.

Why are you using a base clock OC? Very odd. You have a Z270 board, right? You should be running it at least at 4.6Ghz with base clock at 100 and multiplier at 46 or more.
