BlueChinchillaEatingDorito got a reaction from Middcore in Crossfire support
The performance would essentially be the equivalent of a single 6450 +/- maybe 10% which you could say is within margin of error. Crossfire and SLI barely worked and even when it did, it was at most <50% performance gain. You were always much better off just buying a higher-tier GPU when these things were new.

But you just said it's not showing up in the UEFI setup. So is it or not?

That page on HP's website is just based on what configurations HP ships. SATA is a universal standard so you can use any SATA drive on any SATA port. The only difference is the supported speed based on the revision of the port and the drive. But it's all backward compatible.

    It's a fair question.

The super lightweight gaming mice thing is a bit of a fad. It can be advantageous but for most people it's not going to make you any better at games.

Without actually having had my hands on the mouse in the video, I am guessing it isn't actually just the weight. There is a certain way that very cheap ewaste-tier peripherals feel, almost... hollow? It's a flimsiness you can identify right away.

BlueChinchillaEatingDorito got a reaction from Lurking in Pixel 6PRo phone case that has magsafe built in and screen protector
Well, put it this way, the screen protector is a sacrificial piece. If you break the protector that's built into the case, what do you do then? Buy a new case cause you aren't going to find any replacements.

So as long as the case (without a screen protector) is well made and the sides are higher than the display, your glass screen protector would work just as well. If anything, better since you won't have an air gap for dust and debris to accumulate.

What PSU do you have? If it doesn't have a 6-pin, I'm hesitant to believe it's even up to the job to power a GPU. Just because you can adapt to PCI-e power doesn't mean it can power the device properly without blowing itself up.

Plus any of those Molex/SATA to P4/PCI-e Power adapters are known to be cheaply made and often catch on fire.

Yea no. Those PSUs Nixsys uses are meant for 90s/early 2000s systems that they sell. Not for modern power-hungry GPUs and CPUs. Just save up. You'll be better off in the long run rather than having to deal with a fire starter.

BlueChinchillaEatingDorito got a reaction from Lurick in Case Fan Question ARGB vs rgb
No, you cannot plug an ARGB fan on a RGB header as the former is 5V and the latter is 12V, you'll fry the circuitry.
You can daisy chain, I'm not sure how many but you'll likely run out of LEDs before that limit is a problem. What motherboard do you have? You may not need a controller if you have enough ARGB and RGB headers for the effect you want. I for instance am running everything off the board. My LED strip is technically two daisy-chained together. In software, they're identified as one single 24-LED strip as they're 12 LEDs per.

That's something you have to keep in mind for daisy chaining, all devices connected to a header will be identified as one. The software only cares about the number of LEDs and which colour each LED in that array if you will, should be. Whether it's a fan or LED strip is irrelevant.

Create a second user account on your PC and only use it for work. Don't sign into any of your fun sites with it.

That will help, but it's not going to solve the underlying problem. You have to learn self-discipline, how to tell yourself "no". You have to treat this like the real addiction it is.

    No you cannot.
    ARGB is 5v
    RGB is 12v
If you mix them you will fry something.

This is more of a life lesson for you. This happens all the time in the real world. Didn't claim your package from the courier in time? Too bad it's getting sent back or disposed of. Just because you paid money doesn't mean everyone has to suddenly cater to your disorganization. They are under no obligation to refund you anything and they already went above and beyond to notify this change.

Contact your employer/pay centre to have the T4 amended as they're the ones submitting this information to CRA. They should be able to provide you with an amended T4 slip.

BlueChinchillaEatingDorito got a reaction from LAwLz in what would you consider a basic pc in 2024?
You should change your title to "low-end gaming PC" and not "basic PC". PC gamers still only make up a small percentage of the overall computer market.

Most people would be serviced just fine with integrated graphics, and not even the newest chips. Integrated graphics on Intel Core 7th gen from 2017 is still good enough for 4K60 YouTube streaming so that's plenty fast for basic use. A mid-spec Surface Pro 5 (stay away from the 4GB RAM models) would still have enough horsepower to power through daily tasks with ease and blow away anything you can get for sub 300 dollars any day.

Most inventory systems are like that. When you click "place order", it doesn't mean that inventory in the system gets reserved for you. In a perfect world, it does, but we're not there yet for most marketplaces.

Its not Microsoft's fault that you didn't check your email. They began notifying and emailing customers almost a year before the cut off date. They did way more than they needed to do honestly with the time and length they took to notify customers.
